Are the races from First Contact going to be sanctioned for SFS (either immediately or later)?

Mostly just the Contemplatives. I really want to play a floating brain soldier. Just imagine it! A brain, in a helmet, with a pistol floating near it, telekinetically tossing grenades!

Actually makes me wonder if SFS will even have Race Boons like PFS does, or if exotic races will be handed out on a more merit-based system (like as a bonus for GMing).

There is a boonslot used for race boons, so I think there will be race boons. Maybe easier to obtain (see the Wayfinder faction ultimate).

SFS will have race boons. They have already stated that the Pathfinder Legacy races will be available as a possible boon from the Regional Support Program. There is also the Wayfinder faction that Damanta noted.

I suspect that GM boons will also include stuff like Ship Enhancers. "Hey gang! I brought my Lashunta-built Rainbow Rings crystal carburetor core, and now not only can our ship go faster, but the galley will produce all the raspberry sherbert* that we can eat!"
