Liberty's Edge

Hey everyone! I'm just getting started in minin paintin Reaper Bones specifically) and I want to pick up some pick up some Citadel Shades - at least a pot each of Citadel Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade, and maybe Reikland Fleshshade.

I've also seen you can get the Citadel Shade Paint Set, which comes with 8 shade colors (1 Nuln Oil, 1 Carroburg Crimson, 1 Drakenhof Nightshade, 1 Biel- tan Green, 1 Casandora Yellow, 1 Agrax Earthshade, 1 Reikland Fleshshade,1 Seraphim Sepia.)

Has anyone gotten that set? Is it worth it? I don't hear many folks talk about using the other shade colors much - mainly I just hear about Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade, Reikland Fleshshade, and maybe Seraphim Sepia ...

Depends on what sort of things you are painting and your painting style. I am fond of the paint, shade, drybrush style of painting for instance (I will never win a comp, but that isn't why I paint). In my case I have lots of different shades for the Shade part of the process. If I paint something purple, I want a purple shade to go with it.

I use a lot of the Sepia shade for lighter leather tones, it is probably my second most used after Nuln Oil.

Don't know if that helps.

Sovereign Court

I use the shades a lot. Makes for great effects easily, especially when painting clothing such as cloaks.

Dark Archive

I use them all the time..

I would say they are good ( but not the best inkwashes out there)
