Here is the alias I will use, a repurposed ratfolk!... have everything up soon...

So here is the basis on which I would like to build him.
A human Gunslinger/Rogue with the Driver archtype. Would it be alright to have the Driver archtype affect naval ships? (IE drive checks=sailing checks)
He is starting to shape up to be a helmsman with a gun, steering (although not nessesarily a captian) a ship through the waves.
He probably wont even get close to a wheel for quite a long time, but he can dream :)

I am trying to figure out which country fits...want someplace like Varisia, maybe....Riddleport...i will ponder and adjust after work...

(hey fral)

Thinking Port Peril?

No ratfolk

The Exchange

*sad face*

Okay then, would you consider teifling?

Dotting.
Are undines allowed?

Would you be okay with a undine magus/bard?

Btw does anyone know how to do a gestalt magus/bard?

And what about catfolk? I was also thinking about a catfolk corsair/oracle of Calistria.

Alright, fluff complete. Othniel should be ready to go, unless you see anything I need to change.

If you want a race other than core you need to make me feel the character or have a strange concept

Even though there is already an oracle I thought I'd submit my own. Alexander Drake is a melee oriented oracle. Probably going to forgo armor until I can get mithril chainshirt. Going to try and focus on combat but he will certainly be able to heal too.

If backstory is TL:DR. He used to live on an island large enough to support a town too small to be anything but a waystation for large vessels. Sahuagin attacked for some nefarious purpose. Alex manages to hide but spies a mermaid near the docks. She convinces him to follow her. He discovers that the Sahuagin have captured a nereid. He saves the nereid, who then washes away the Sahuagin from the island. Most of its human population survive but the waters are corrupted. People begin going their separate ways to find a new home while Alex decides to wonder the oceans to find the mermaid that risked her life to save him and the island.

He doesn't really have a lead since mer-people are very secretive so he just hops on whatever vessel will take him. His magic comes from saving the nereid. A blessing of the waves that grows stronger as he wanders the oceans. It also makes him highly valuable on ships with the ability to keep food clean and able to create pure water.

Grand Lodge

Robar was known for his penmanship, it was fine and it was accurate and best of all it earned him some money. It also earned him some time of local trade ships and pirate ships, he could keep a ledger better than most who either crewed or were hired for such. While being the coin master on a pirate ship you also pick up many other skills, a few of the crew took pity on him when he was younger and taught him how to shoot. They also eventually showed him the black powder dragon as they called it. This weapon could spit out a ball of lead so hard and so fast that make a cross bow look like a child's toy.

In turn to his inscribing skills Robar could sing, he would entertain the crew in the mess, singing tales of pirates, the good the bad and the really heinous ones. On many lonely nights he kept the crew in good spirits and on those days or nights of battle he inspired them to greater deeds of courage and slaughter.

Never one to turn away from the drink once the crew of his latest ship took shore leave Robar joined them, his pistol on his hip and song in his chest ready to bring in more coin.

Here is my character. I decided upon a Bard "SeaSinger"/ Slayer "Sniper"

Orphaned at a young age, Artix at first joined the navy to escape the crushing poverty of the streets, but found himself apprenticed in the bloody job of ship doctor. It was soon that he grew accustomed to the savage nature of naval combat.

Quick, analytical, and devoted to saving the lives of his crew, be sure to shanghai him for your ventures in piracy.

The Exchange

Oh so I can have a ratfolk, I just have to make it work? Then prepare for the craziest mad scientist rat you will find! I'll even add in some good traits. I'm planning on going master cymist as a prestige class.

Alright, GM. Background cleaned up.

The Exchange

So I would like to use the Eldrich researcher story feat, and this is the spell I'd like to apply for the prerequisite:

touch of force:
lvl:wizard 1, alchemist 1
School:evocation
Range: touch,
Duriation:instantaneous.
Effect:force damage on touch.

Details: your hand is covered in a aura of force. On a sussesful touch attack you release the energy, dealing 1d6 damage plus an additional d6 for every two caster lvels you posses, up to a maximum of 5d6 at lvl 10

Hey, I'm Grump. I'm not so Giiimp! And I'm the Gimpy Grumps!

Sorry. Had to.

Silver Crusade

I'm fixing my Cleric of Kurgess to be a gestalt monk for this game..

Silver Crusade

Are unchained class versions up for use? Specifically monk?

OMG I can get a parrot familiar.

Profession Salior, Perception, Exotic Weapon Proficiency Seige will make you a Gunner/Pilor if that is what you are looking for

Make me feel the character, then ask again :P

Fixed him up as level 1 gestalt.

So apparently if you have a rank in profession sailor you are immune to seasickness wound up finding this out when doing research for a game i'm running

OK - sadly time constraints have arisen that are going to force me to withdraw from consideration for this game.

Good luck everyone, I'm sure you're in for a great time.

Tharasiphs entry

Human Cleric of Kurgess 1/ Brawler (steelbreaker) 1

Still can't figure out how to gestalt a bard/oracle. That's what is giving me the biggest trouble.

Nearly done. I just need to pick my two spells out, ask a couple questions and this kobold will be ready to beat face. Still not tired of that sentence. I'd like him to pick up Profession: Sailor for two reasons. One, useful, even as a back-up to another PC. Two, I can imagine he'd have to learn for himself to get around. Most people don't want to give rides to a kobold regardless of how well-groomed he may be.

"But sir I have coin! "

"Yer coins no good here, boot!"

"I am at least two boots."

If ya want, I can give another profession a look.

Second, I'd like to pick the rival story feat, but do I have to make the quest roll, or does the GM?

What I would do isn't necessarily what you would do. But what I would do is great cha, decent str, okay-to-bad everything else, and role-play a loony. He/she's crazy, but damned if they don't seem to know what they're doing somehow. Maybe like Jack Sparrow.

I actually like that idea!

Thank you!

Would you allow the Warlord class from dreamscarred press? I'd combine it with Unchained Rogue.

Alternatively, I'd go for a Witch//Magus, or something like that.

Dotting. Will try to get something worked up after work.

when does this close?

Fetchling Oracle/Slayer

RePete Submission

Unbreakable (fighter arch)/Sin Eater (Inquisitor Arch)

I've gotten most of the crunch done. Will get the backstory finalized and posted.

Recruitment clozes by no later than August 30th.

I've recently come upon an issue with my intention of going Arcane Trickster with my Sorcerer/Rogue: Phantom Thief gives up sneak attack, which means I can't take Arcane Trickster. As such I'll either be changing my archetype of Rogue (likely) or changing my prestige class plans (less likely, but not impossible). I'm still mulling the options, but will finalize before the deadline (even if that's just to stick with what I have).

Speaking of finishing touches, Laknir is complete for anybody to look over, comment, subscribe save for the story feat question.

This is The Dread Pirate Hurley's submission. I present Ambrose Jeggare, of the Korvosan Jeggares, (former) lieutenant navigator in the Jeggare merchant fleet, first-rate conjurer and Acadamae-trained devil summoner. A natural enemy of Cheliax, he also bears a personal grudge against the Hurricane King himself (though he doesn't yet know it).

Ambushed by a certain cannon-laden pirate ship just past the Eye of Abendego, Ambrose was thrown into the sea and barely escaped with his life. Clinging to a piece of the hull, he drifted at sea for many days, calling out for help in prayer. At first he prayed to Asmodeus, and for many days received no answer. Entreating Gozreh to carry him to shore, he again received no answer. In desperation he called out to any power that would answer. Nearing the brink of death from exhaustion, he spotted land on the horizon, and he knew that something out there had heard him.

I don't have HeroLab, and I'm working on converting the sheet to a statblock by hand. Both are a work in progress. For the moment, I'll default to the wizard/fighter build for simplicity. I've taken a small liberty with the fluff of the Besmara's Blessing trait, and the Fiendish Presence trait was originally printed as a Cheliax faction trait for PFS. The profile contains a bit more background as well.

Ambrose Jeggare, tiefling wizard/fighter

Background:
The Jeggare Estate, Korvosa
12th of Erastus, 4714 AR

Ambrose straightened his shirt, making small adjustments as he walked through the halls of the Jeggare estate. He had been summoned to his father's study moments before, and judging by the servant's manner, it had to be something important. Ambrose had been anticipating this for some time now, years, really. It was finally time for the meeting. There came a time in every young heir's life when his father, a shrewd and wealthy master of mercantilism, would send for his son and draw up the contract that would begin the transfer of power from father to son. Naturally, there would be a transitional period during which the son would work under the father, learning the ins and outs of the family business. And, of course, sometimes those periods could last for many years until the father finally retired gracefully in old age. But there was no doubt in Ambrose's mind that, once he stepped through the wide oak double doors of his father's study, it would only be a matter of time before it was his study.

Approaching the doors, he paused to admire the brass handles. They were a matching set, an imp and a pseudodragon locked in an eternal struggle that reached a ceasefire only when the doors were open and resumed once they were closed again. Ambrose tugged on his white gloves, running his fingers over the red pentagrams emblazoned on the back, and knocked.

"Come in, come in," came the voice from the other side of the door. Obeying, Ambrose threw the doors open, interrupting their battle for his own personal glory. Confidently, he strode into the study where his father sat at his grand desk, head bent down over an important-looking document. Behind him, the window's rich velvet curtains were drawn back, offering a spectacular view of Korvosa beyond. Ambrose could barely keep from grinning as his father, Lord Aloysius Jeggare, looked up at him, dropping his quill back into the inkwell on his desk.

"Ambrose."

"Father." Ambrose did his best to imitate his father's stoic bearing and somber tone of voice, but he lost the battle as fis father wordlessly handed him the document.

Ambrose's grin fades as suddenly as it appeared as he reads the document, an expression of confusion replacing it. "I don't understand."

"Those are your orders." Lord Jeggare laced his fingers together, folding his hands on the desk in front of him. No hint of mirth tugged at the corners of his mouth to betray a joke.

"You cannot be serious," Ambrose protested, though he could see for himself that his father was very serious indeed. The document he held in his hand was no laughing matter. Instead of the ownership contract he had been expecting, his father had handed Ambrose orders assigning him to a junior officer's post aboard one of his merchant galleys, the Imp's Purse. "You are pressganging me?!"

Lord Jeggare pinched the bridge of his nose between thumb and forefinger, wincing and sighing. Suddenly, he appeared very weary. He looked at his son, not unkindly, but pushed well past his limits.

"Ambrose, I understand that things have been... difficult for you as of late. I have tried to be patient with you, shown you leniency more times than can be counted. But I cannot allow it to continue. After what happened in Egorian, after you disgraced our family! Starting brawls, Ambrose?"

"It was not a brawl, father, it was a duel. A duel I won!"

"You cheated."

"I hardly think overpowering your opponent with both martial and arcane superiority can be considered cheating. And Narcissa's father still refuses me her hand, even after I trounced her ponce of a-"

"Enough!" Lord Jeggare was not a man who often raised his voice, much less against his own son, but he had had his fill of his son's complete and total lack of self-discipline. A certain amount of carousing and misbehavior was to be expected from a young man of Ambrose's age and station, tacitly encouraged even, but this latest embarrassment had been too much.

It was a shock when young Ambrose, a bright (and, importantly, human) boy of twelve when he left for the Acadamae, returned a decade later as a devil-summoning, devil-worshipping tiefling! They had tried to be understanding of their new misanthrope of a son, welcomed him back into the family as if nothing had changed. Lord Jeggare had ignored his son's diabolism, raised no objection when he had begun building a summoning circle in his bedchamber, even allowed him to attend Asmodean services instead of joining the rest of the family at the Abadaran temple. It was only to be expected, really. While he had hoped his son would study divination or transmutation, the Acadamae had a certain reputation for turning out top-shelf conjurers and devil binders. Ambrose had even graduated near the top of his class!

In hindsight, Lord Jeggare had to admit that they should have delayed Ambrose's induction into Chelaxian society, but he never would have predicted the reactions Ambrose provoked from the assembled nobles. His appearance was striking, but he looked mostly human, if you ignored the vestigial horns, the barbed tail, and the red-on-black eyes that smoked up the room when Ambrose became angry, which happened rather easily. It had been terribly rude of Lord Leroung to withdraw his daughter from the arranged marriage between Ambrose and Narcissa. That contract had been signed years before Ambrose had left for the Acadamae, a strong match for both families! But dueling over the slight? And cheating? Ambrose had dealt a nasty blow to the family's reputation. He simply wasn't ready to inherit the family's merchant empire, and some years at sea would teach him the discipline he sorely lacked. One day, Lord Jeggare assured himself, Ambrose would thank his father for this.

But today, Ambrose would have none of it. His eyes swept over the words that had so suddenly ended his life, but he did not see them. Thin tendrils of smoke began to leak from the corners of his eyes. Not knowing what to do, he turned on his heel and stalked out of the room without another word.

Ambrose boarded the Imp's Purse the next day. He kissed his mother goodbye, but said not a word to his father, even after he was presented with a rich red uniform coat, perfectly tailored and customized with a waterproof pocket for his spellbook. That obstinate silence would haunt Ambrose in the years to come; little did he know that he was never to see his father again.

Character motivation:
Ambrose begins the game as a fish out of water. He's a disinherited rich kid in a den of thieves, a disciplined soldier among a band of rowdy cutthroats. Bitter about his situation, he will stick with his crew members in an effort to survive, and eventually turn pirate both out of responsibility for his fellow crew members as well as an effort to take back control of his life.

So... are tieflings allowed?

Alright, I'm deleting the Phantom Thief archetype, leaving Othniel as a Wildblooded Sorcerer (Sage)/Unchained Rogue.

Kennesty, GM Grog disallowed 3rd-party material just a little bit before you asked. It's too bad, Path of War is so much fun!
