He didn't ruin Deadpool! That was totally Bryan Singer's fault!
Also while yes Crisis did mention that, it's not exactly canonical to the DCEU. At least, not that I'm aware of.
As for how they get him into the Sun? I mean we send stuff to the Sun a good bit. How hard would it be to get him in it?
We do? I'm not aware of any. There was talk of a probe mission to a fairly close orbit, but I'm not sure where it stands. It would take at least months, if not years.

Yeah I think I have decided I will just let freehold have his badwrongfun attitude to the things I like, and I'll just go on enjoying what I enjoy. I suggest this attitude for everyone. Just because someone doesn't like it doesn't mean you can't!
You can even still like someone who doesn't like what you do!

Freehold, your opinions of things are baffling to me.
I'm genuinely curious, is there anything that is generally adored in nerd culture that you do like?
i like everything!
Except:
Whedon.
Harry Potter.
Alton Brown.
Got TV series.
Facebook.
Math.
Ryan Reynolds.
Non-UC Gundam (G is a noted exception, iron blooded orphans is cute but it is NOT true Gundam).
Forgotten Realms (i love the work Richard Lee Byers and Paul Kemp to the point that i will read their realms fiction)
Deadpool.
Also, I prefer cats to dogs, but I dont hate dogs. Unless I am riding my bike.

Yeah one would think they'd have figured out Superman is solar powered and thus try THAT approach before doing Mother box magic.
One has to remember this is a universe where all it takes to disguise Superman is a suit and glasses. Same thing with Wonder Woman. So them not knowing about Superman connection to the sun powering his abilites makes sense. Remember we the viewers see it in the movie. Yet no one was able to really see how the Sun regenerates him after the nuclear strike.
It's how dumb characters look in a story when a villain turned hero joins yet no one is prepared for the hero turning villain and they get ambushed and look like idiots at least by the writers of the stories. How many times has Mystique betrayed the X-men yet no one and I do mean no one is prepared.

To be fair, that's usually because one writer wants the villain reformed and on the team and a later one is like "No. I like them as a villain. It was a plot all along!"

1. We really don't. A lot of our observations good ol' Sol aren't conducted by going that way. Por ejemplo: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2017/nasa-funded-sounding-rocket-will- take-1500-images-of-sun-in-5-minutes
2. Earth is 149,600,000 kilometers from Sol. Since it's potentially a straight shot rather than a transfer orbit, it's quicker to get to than Mars, but still takes over 100 days with the best speeds on record.

And for everyone saying that its okay because deadpool is just so f!&&ing awesome.
So basically you hate an actor for taking a paycheck, in a movie that shouldn't have been made in the first place.

Parallax isn't meant to be a big enemy... it was meant to be as an excuse to make Hal 'not a psycho'. The big bad should always have been Sinestro. Saving him for a sequel was insane.
90% of the problems with Green lantern are solely script and director. If he had worn a real costume and fought a real villain... then I think Reynalds would have been just fine. As it is, I think the movie was 'ok'.

I did not hate the Green Lantern movie, and, judging it for what it was, and not what I wanted it to be, it was totally faithful to the fratboy screwup version of Hal Jordan we've had ever since Geoff Johns revived him and brought him back into the fold.
Indeed, I've watched it again, and found it to be a perfectly good popcorn superhero movie, entertaining all over again, unlike some much more critically popular superhero films (from both DC and Marvel) that I've felt no desire to ever see again.
Sure, I would prefer a Green Lantern movie (or a Flash movie for that matter) about the adult experienced respected heroes those characters were back in the 80's, but they are decades dead and replaced in the comic books by inexperienced bumblers, so I moved on long ago to newer characters like Booster Gold and Vixen (or newer Green Lanterns and Flashes like Kyle, John and Wally).
I don't see it as Ryan Reynolds fault that his version of Hal Jordan was the Geoff Johns version and not the Dennis O'Neil/John Broome/Marv Wolfman version.

Meh, Everything Hal post-crisis fed into that... and even the O'Neil version was the screw up while Green Arrow was the 'correct' one.
Hal's been my favorite green lantern (and Comic character tied with Daredevil but he was almost always a flawed character who had the odds stacked against him.

Personally?
Alan Scott-> John Stewart-> Jade/Tomar-Re/Kilowog/Rot Lop Fan/Katma Tui a bunch of other non-primary-> Guy Gardner-> Hal Jordan -> 90s Kyle.
So I go from the original boring white guy as my favorite to the new hotness boring white guy as my least favorite.

Ooh, Rot Lop Fan is just crazy awesome.
But of the Earthers, John and Kyle are my favorites. Hal, Alan, Simon and Jessica, meh. Guy, no. I liked him better as a Vudarian with guns for hands.
And even then, I liked my favorite version of Guy less than the talking tiger-dude who hung around with the Marvel family, and I don't even remember his name (or know literally anything about him other than that he's a talking tiger-dude, and therefore must be cool). :)

Not that wise... not much of a mentor.
One of my biggest problems with kyle back in the day was he never bothered to get any real ADVICE or TRAINING from John.
Alan showed him a few tricks, but they were so focused on keeping him the 'green' rookie that he's out having beers with John and Guy... Actual legitimate Green Lanterns.. but then having to read wonder woman's lips in space because he can't use the ring to communicate in space... >.<
