NEW Swallowtail Festival Games!

Rise of the Runelords

5 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm just starting Rise of the Runelords with a group of new players and decided to make some new games for them to play at the Swallowtail Festival. I've made up a couple of new NPC's and I've been generous with some of the prizes because I want my players to feel successful right off the bat!

SWALLOWTAIL FESTIVAL GAMES

•Tagline: “Win the coveted tin spork!”
•NPC: Baker ALMA AVERTIN and daughters ARIKA and ANEKA (Humans, Chelaxian)

• Each round, each contestant eats a spiced fruit nut pie. DC Fortitude Save goes up with each round. Whoever can eat the most without throwing up, wins!
• 1st/DC 2 2nd/DC 5 3rd/DC 10 4th/DC 16

CHIAHOUND RACE
• Tagline: “Wager on the doggies and see your fortunes rise!”

• Wager 2 SP
• Number of contestants: As many as want to play, plus add in some NPCs cheering for their dogs.
• Find 5 D6 of different colors to represent each dog. You will make rolls to judge how well the dogs are running. Add +1 to Crocket’s rolls, -1 to Old Blue Eye’s rolls, and -2 to Snowball’s rolls with a minimum of 1. Roll all 5 at once. Die with highest number (after adjusting) is in the lead. Roll at least 3 more times, tallying as you go along. Dog with highest total at end is winner! Add more rolls to make race longer or even add more dogs.

Looking great! Did you have a look at the other ones, too?

Some of the games from the above thread also appear in Wayfinder #7 (available as free download here on Paizo).

Ruyan.

I actually made all of these up by myself first and then looked at how the other games were formatted to compare and adjust so the format/play was similar. I didn't care for the games that had PC's taking shots off of prostitute's bellies or just plain games with no real prizes.
