Stephen Amell of Arrow fame, and cousin Robbie Amell (Firestorm on Flash and one of the new agents on X-files) have launched a crowdfunding project for a movie they will be working on together, Code 8.
There's a 10 minute short they've already filmed which is a pretty good window into the setting. Looks very good - especially for something put together with their own money and calling in favors. I'm not clear on how raising $200K is enough to make a full feature film, but like what I see.
Good movies have been made with less.
