Can you apply a GM credit to a first level character?

So the guide says, 'If the player is playing a non-1st-level pregenerated character, he may choose instead to apply this Chronicle sheet to a 1st-level character by reducing this value to 500 gp (or 250 gp for the slow advancement track). "

I am in the process of GMing all 5 of the waking rune arc, can I apply them, all slow tracked, to a first level character? I understand the unique boons would not be available until 7. I would rather bypass 1st level than 7th.

Seems legit

(or, for a slow
advancement track character, 1/2 XP, 1 PP, and 50% of the
Max Gold for the subtier most appropriate to the GM’s PC).

I was just making sure, frequent visits to the forum can taint your view, as there is no mention of GMs being allowed to apply high level scenarios to first level characters, I wanted to ask for a consensus.

At least in our lodge, that's how we run things - fine to apply non-1st level chronicles to a 1st level character with GM credit, but will lower the gold to 500gp/250gp for slow :)

Ahah, here we go

A GM may assign credit for running an adventure in any
of the same ways a player can, and must follow the same
rules as a player when applying credit to a character. When
you choose to take a Chronicle sheet for GM credit, you must
decide which of your characters receives the Chronicle sheet
when you fill out the tracking sheet for that table. You must
apply Chronicle sheets in the order they are received

If that were not the case, I would have some serious fixing to do. I spoke with our former VC on the matter and he said yes because it falls under the purview of the passage cited by BNW - effectively, you're treating it as though you played it with a pregen and requested a 1st level chronicle, which is a legal choice for players.

The real question (and this actually matters!) is whether modules that fall in tiers that lack pregens have this same ruling. The impression I have (along with said former VC) is yes, though I think the argument is compelling either way. After all, if you have to take it within tier, what GM would take credit for higher level Emerald Spire floors since it ruins your capstone for the character?

Me, for one. I really want to see what my theorycrafted 13th level Bard looks like, and if he can be useful to a party playing modules....

Then again, I am strange. I have a PC who leveled to 12 using my GM credit for The Ruby Phoenix Tournament...
