LMAO!! To most people the rest of New York Sate is essentially just a giant suburb.

A suburb with lots and lots of cows, and, on occasion, hillbillies.

Yeehaw!

Volleyball trip today. At least it's a sunny day!

Some days you're a winner, other days you repeatedly try to log into Cafébook before realizing that you've typed it wrong.

Brr. Not so sunny now <brr>

If I'd known you were going, I'd have let the Queen know. She's fun to have a beer with.

I feel like I may be coming down with something. Here's hoping it's a false alarm.

Are you British? I hear they all know her.

Wait, which pbp am I up in? Thought I was caught up.

There's space dogs that need killing.

They haven't had their turn yet, have they?

Treppa wrote:

I could have sworn they did, but I could be wrong. In either case, I'd guess that they spend their turn just getting closer.

I'm sorry if I'm rushing things, but a large part of me wants to get past the combat in order to get to the next talky bit. It's really weird-- for me, the reverse is usually true (in PF/D&D, I'm usually the guy who nerds out over strategy and tactics), but this is a rules-lite system and I actually know how to play my character for once.

Rules-lite? Man, I'm beating my head against the wall on these rules. Ah, for the simplicity of combat maneuvers.

But yeah, the RP is golden. Love it.

I wasn't feeling pushed, just confused. But that's kinda normal.

D'oh moment of the day. Telling your wife that we do not have hot water because we do not have power and then accidentally moving the faucet to the hot position and realizing that we have a gas water heater. It was not a fun moment telling the wife "Honey, we do have hot water and this is why."

Back on refrigerator/door knob patrol tonight

Damn but these science-types have a lot of refrigerators!

Volleyball ran late. I had expected they would only be a couple of hours. They were five. I don't get how these kids can study or anything of the sort when they aren't getting home until almost 9pm.

Then my dad wanted me to go to his house since he has been held over at the hospital until tomorrow morning. So I didn't get home until 10:15pm. Then back out @11:30 to be here at Wood's Hole for midnight.

*sigh*

At least this job is quick. Something about unlimited computer access and no pissed of addicts make it a much smoother night job.

Hope your dad is doing well. Surgery and recovery is no fun.

I was a thrower on the track team in high school (in the misty long-faded age of the early-mid 2000s), often not getting home from meets until 11 PM or so. I pulled a 3.9 GPA when I graduated, so it's definitely possible. The lack of sleep is pretty killer, though.

I'm pretty sure my overall brainpower has deteriorated since my 3.9 GPA days, however. For example, here's a pretty accurate representation of the past few years.

This night of not sleeping was sponsored by LordSynos and th eDungeon Of The Endless... Endless indeed. Endless deaths mostly...

Ah, well, I don't have a session today anyway, one player is unavailable and another is sick.

Treppa wrote:

Thanks Treppa. It's hard getting a reading on his progress because he is very reticent about things. I'm hoping to see him tomorrow

A little late-night homebrewing

Or does 5 am count as early morning? My circadian rhythms are all awry.

~tired look~ yes. But so does late night.

Ah well, less than an hour now.

Sadly, no. If I were, I'd have the accent. Instead, I have to settle for just being awesome.

Sweet!

Ooo Windows 10 looks really pretty, granted I haven't heard good things about it here XD

I am way more pleased about this particular pithy remark than I reasonably should be.

Maybe I'm starting to figure out this whole "Earth humor" thing after all. That's the joke.

Sitting at the airport, drinking wine...

I used to hate airports until I discovered that they serve alcohol.

I've been known to laugh loudly and long at my own posts.

What's wrong with that? If I didn't think it was funny, I wouldn't have said it!

I am indeed allergic to mold, and I do feel better today than I did yesterday. Perhaps you are right!

I was worried because I hung out a little with a friend on Sunday who had a cold.

Also, subways. They're basically rolling Petri dishes.

See, I'm used to people thinking things I say are funny without my intending them to be. On my home planet, it's considered an unforgivable weakness.

I get that sometimes. We both have dry senses of humor, so it comes with the territory, I guess.

Unless the thing they are laughing about was really serious (like "my grandma died" or something), I just roll with it and let them think I am wittier than I really am.

I hope your dad recovers quick Pat!

I also am feeling the 'not well'.
Not bad enough to stay home sick (Can't, no one else to do my job anyway) :P
But bad enough to make it very difficult to put on my happy face and pretend like I can stand the usual stupidity that happens around me. :P

I had 100+ kids backstage ALL week last week (Hairspray, the musical) so I'm guessing one of them shared a cold. :/

To the witty and witless people everywhere! CHEERS! (Heck, it's 5pm SOMEwhere!) ;)

Once again, parking lot bound. Another trip to the hilariously-named town of Sandwich. I'm hoping this one doesn't run 61/2 hours like yesterday. I mean, I welcome the cash, but I'd like to get some chores done before my midnight security gig. Plus, I have an Ash vs Evil Dead to watch

Yes and no. The subway itself is quite clean- at least the ones I take are, because I live at the end of the line and they always clean it before it goes out. What you have to fear are your fellow passengers- THEY are the walking petri dishes you speak of.

Thanks Rags. It's hard realizing he's in his high Seventies now. He's always been very active and vital. Time is a muthaforker

I hope you get over the drama crud! My only suggestion is zinc. 50 mg daily. I work around kids and sick people daily and so far I've only had one cold in the last three years

One mold ridden zombie would be enough to take me out, yes. I would fall to the ground wheezing, cursing your name before I am bitten and join the ranks of the undead.

It really makes me happy to know you are having a good time. I will move combat along accordingly.
