You're not alone.. Bruce Willis wasn't that fond of it either. He's done better since.

He owes us all a personal apology for making that movie.

I liked it. Willis has done lots worse since that one.

I enjoyed it. It's bad, but it's bad in a fun way.

It made me laugh, which is more than I can say for nearly any Adam Sandler movie made in the last ten years.

Last Boyscout and Hudson Hawk are my two favorite Willis films.

Scarab Sages

My DaVinci Historic Art and Science society disapproves of your disapproval. Next thing, you're going to say that the hidden messages in the Last Supper are just some nonsense, when it was obvious from the Tom Hanks documentary "The DaVinci Code," that it is totes real.

Also, 4th wall breaking is the industry standard, as well as sword arms and Andi MacDowell in her marketable years.

Yes this post makes little sense. Because the Hudson Hawk.

It is a fun movie. Plus I have seen worse. Much much worse.

The Last Boy Scout was pretty awesome.

The Fifth Element is one of my favorite Bruce Willis movies.

Overall, I approve of Bruce Willis. But Hudson Hawk, egads. Maybe the real problem was Sandra Bernhardt. Also, the scene where Willis and Aiello sing "Would You Like to Swing on a Star" gave me PTSD of some sort and ruined that song for me.

Last Boy Scout, definitely. Fifth Element (for it's campy weirdness, it's like Flash 'Aaaaa!' Gordon for the next generation), Red and Die Hard, too.

For me, Hudson Hawk is somewhere under Die Hard 3: Just Please Die Already, and his MTV 'Return of Bruno' mockumentary thing.

I actually particularly enjoyed that moment.

There is more originality and fun in Hudson Hawk than in all of Michael Bay's Transformers films combined.

The truth often hurts, but it can set you free, Freehold, if you'd but let it in.

That is kinda of like saying there is more originality and fun in Quills or Schindler's List than all of of Michael Bay's Transformers films combined.

Note: Quills and Schindler's are very good movies...it is just not fun...

So THAT explains the delay in XCOM 2 coming out.

When to hit armor class 0?

Sorry... couldn't resist...

20+ years ago, my brother kept raving about Hudson Hawk, so I sat down and watched it.

Me: "WTF? That movie sucked!"
Him: "Obviously you didn't drink nearly enough, then. Try it again, correctly this time!"
Me (2 weeks later): "Dude, that movie was awesome!"

So, yeah, it's both terrible and excellent, depending on your BAC. (Not sure it would still work, but in the early '90s it was on cable every week, so it was an easy experiment to make.)

I didn't like The Fifth Element. I've seen it several times, I still don't get why people talk positively about the movie.

it took me a looooooooooooooong time to warm up to that film.

5th Element has:
- outrageous clothes which somehow work (probably because everyone wears them)
- Ruby Rhod
- other funny elements

5th element has:

Cool aliens
Great music
A neat villain
An awesome opera performance
Brilliant scenery inspired by Valerian and Laureline
Bruce Willis
Some sexy outfits, particularly the underboob one
Some very neat details like the all-filter cig

It also has, sadly:

A stupid elements puzzle
Ruby Rhod
Nobody interacting with the villain
Bizarre fake language/gobbledigook
Milla Jovovich
Leeloo Dallas multipass
Milla Jovovich

All in all, I consider it more a good movie than a horrible one.

Sovereign Court

The "sadly" list is the stuff that makes fifth element not hudson hawk!

I don't get the hate for Hudson Hawk. It's one of my favorite comedies.

In terms of movies I didn't get the first time but now absolutely love, Army of Darkness and The Rocky Horror Picture Show top my list.

Put me in the "enjoyed-Hudson Hawk-was-kinda-meh-about-The Fifth Element" camp. Actually, I think I've been "meh" about most Luc Besson flicks, although, looking at imdb, I see he did something about Serge Gainsbourg. I should probably check that out.

I liked The Professional.

Army of Darkness holds a special place in my heart, right next to Big Trouble in Little China.

I disliked fifth element and hated Hudson Hawk ..I hadn't felt that kind of loathing after leaving a theatre since Bonfire of the Vanities..which also was a Willis stinker.
