Heya :)
First off, just wanted to thank you SOOO much for Pathfinder! I'm relatively new to everything here and I discovered the ACG as a solo play option through The Dice Tower (Eric Summerer specifically mentioned that it was good for solo sessions) and WOW - cannot emphasize how amazing my experience has been so far! Being a working parent it's difficult to find time to hang with a gaming group, so being able to run and control 2 characters through these adventures has really been quite engaging. I've even started to bring up some Alts! I could go on...but that's not the purpose for this missive today.
I just signed up for the both the Adventure deck and Class deck subscriptions (yay!) and since I'm just launching into the sub now, I will be starting with the 5th Adventure Deck I believe. I had already purchased the Base Set and Adventure 2 at my local GameShop (well, at ONE of them - we're spoiled here in ATX!) and wanted to gather up the remaining Adventure Decks that I will be missing because of my late start with the Paizo sub. Purchased Deck 3 today, but my local did not have Deck 4 in stock, so I did some quick online recon to check availability at Paizo and AMZ, etc.. During that search, I noticed that different outlets were offering the Adventure packs (as well as the Wrath Base Set) with what seems to be alternate box art/variants. For instance, on the Paizo site the Adventure decks have that wonderful dark red action going on, but the boxes shipped from AMZ are mostly grey. Also, the Wrath Base Set box has a different cover as well (Paizo - iconic hero squad! / AMZ - Dragon/Demon deathmatch!).
Anyhoo, just wanted to find out whassadeal and perhaps get some insight into whether these are just variants based on the product cycle, or if these are even legit, or... ??
Thanks again for everything and keep rocking hard with this game system - I'm a believer ;)

When Paizo announces a new product they give it placeholder art and description. Later on they update their own product listing with the final art and description once they have it. Amazon and other sites however typically use the placeholder art and never bother updating it. That is what you are seeing there.

Hi Mazzelectra,
I'm so glad to hear how much you enjoy the game!
Looks like Skizzers beat me to the punch in answering your question. You're likely just seeing the placeholder images on other sites that have not yet been updated. The dark red boxes are what they should actually look like, and our website should usually have the most current image for our products if you ever need to look them up. We sometimes put mockup art on product pages for upcoming products, but generally update them as soon as we have an image of the actual product.
Hopefully that's helpful! If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask. We'll be more than happy to assist you as best we can.
Thanks, and have a wonderful weekend!
