It's a very interesting set-up, I agree, but the goals are achievable, and having such an early funding success means that one of the biggest psychological barriers to entry for Kickstarters is gone: it's already funded, everything that comes in now is a bonus.
Smart move by LG.
(Also, loving the art, and the premise is awesome, and I can't wait to get my teeth into this one.)

Pledge early, pledge often, and pledge high. We really do need as many backers as we can get to help fill out the entire Adventure Path. And, I think this is going to be the most nerve-wracking thing I've ever contemplated doing. So, please...
- if anyone's ever enjoyed our work on Paizo Adventure Paths, or...
- if anyone's ever appreciated what I've tried to put back into the hobby by encouraging those competing in RPG Superstar, or...
- if anyone generally just wants to see third-party publishers continue to support Pathfinder, or...
- if you're just a major fan of sword-and-planet themes...
...please consider helping a brother out and backing us at whatever pledge level you can.
My two cents,
--Neil

One phrase I saw that did seem amazing was; "Ships anywhere in the world"
Does this mean free shipping? If so, woot!
Domestic shipping is free. International shipping is $30, which is substantially less than with our MYTHIC MANIA Kickstarter, as we're working on a different method of printing and shipping that cuts our costs and we can pass that savings on to you!

Congrats on funding so quickly!!!!
How does the "for Pathfinder and 5th Edition" part work? Are you producing a Pathfinder version and a separate 5th Edition version or are you doing one version with dual Pathfinder and 5th Edition statas?
If I missed that explanation on the Kickstarter page, I chalk it up to not enough coffee!

Separate versions for each.

Neil Spicer RPG Superstar 2009, Contributor |

Separate versions for each.
Basically, we have an ambitious (and talented) team member who's willing to do the conversion work so we can have it in both formats. Hopefully, that helps widen the appeal. So, if you have any friends who are exclusive 5e players and you think they'd be interested in a full-scale, sword-and-planet Adventure Path, send them our way! The more backers, the merrier!

Thanks to your amazing support, the LEGENDARY PLANET Kickstarter has more than TRIPLED its base funding goal in less than a day, completing all bonus goals for Mike Shel's fantastic post-apocalyptic world adventure, The Scavenged Codex! We can now take aim directly at Matt Goodall's tidally locked wasteland of blasted and scorched earth, frozen eternal night, and endless catacombs. Time to prepare for your Dead Vault Descent!

See if this one works: Facebook event.
It might be the case that you have to get an invite from inside of facebook to join. I'll ping Rachel and see if she has a solution.
Of course, you can always follow us right here on the Paizo boards, on our main Facebook page, or of course on our website

We have just announced a series of new bonus pledge levels for the Legendary Planet Adventure Path! Each is very limited in quantity, so you'll need to claim your spot quickly if you want to make it happen. First come, first served!
1. Planetary Prince (limit 7): This level is akin to the Savior of the Universe, but rather than naming the very sun around which the planet in your chosen adventure revolves, you get to work with the author of that adventure to develop a city, country, or organization that will be featured in that planet's gazetteer!
If you're pledging at this level for To Worlds Unknown, you're going to have to get your thinking cap on and get your contribution in SOON!
2. Universal Icon (limit 4): If you've seen Tim Kings-Lynne's amazing cover art for To Worlds Unknown, you have already seen our four iconic characters in action. They'll be featuring in cover art and action scenes throughout this adventure path, as well as in a secret something else we'll be announcing soon! But they need names, and YOU can be the one to name them.
- The half-construct cybernetic human warrior
- The diminutive reptilian rogue
- The four-armed alien priest
- The powerful plant-person sorceress
This one will also require you to act fast to get your contribution in time! First pledge gets first pick; reply in the comments below with your selection!
3. Master of the Universe Victory Feast (2 additional pledges available): This pledge was originally limited to two, one each for next year's PaizoCon and GenCon; however, we have talked internally with the Legendary Games team and have decided to offer two more slots, which can include GenCon THIS YEAR!
If you were wanting to go a little over the top in your support of this project but missed the mad rush of opening day, now is your opportunity to dive into the deep end of the pool.

I have never pledged anything before for a Kickstarter, so I am a little uncertain about something.
I want to pledge $100 for the PDF compilation; however, I noticed that there is a bonus pledge (for $150, I think) to have one of the iconics named by the backer. When I went to pledge, I did not see the option to select that reward. Did I make a mistake somewhere or misread the available rewards?
CB out.

Finally at a keyboard instead of my phone.
First, even though I do not ever purchase adventures or AP's, I would STRONGLY recommend this kickstarter to anyone.
This recommendation is based on the amazing Mythic Kickstarter already completed by Legendary Games. The content in the Mythic Hero's Handbook, Mythic Monster Manual, and Mythic Spell Compendium has drastically improved my current mythic game.
I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of print copies, which are going to be the jewels of my Pathfinder collection and am thoroughly enjoying the PDF's for now. Just to be clear Legendary games has been on-time or ahead on fulfillment and has been extremely communicative, especially being nice enough to show some spoilers as prints and cover proofs came in.
The content is on the level of what I have come to expect from Dreamscarred Press, which I use as the benchmark for well written, balanced and evocative material.
I just cannot praise it enough, and it has set in my mind a high bar for this Kickstarter.
In short, Pledge! You will not be disappointed.

These are also known as "Add-ons", and they're things you can get for pledging an additional amount above your reward level. In this case, you'd select $100 as your level to get the PDFs, then add the value of the add-ons you want to the amount you're backing with.
Add-ons aren't independent pledge levels - they're a way to encourage people to back for a higher amount by giving them additional offers and incentives. Some campaigns offer discounts on other products from the manufacturer, or physical goodies like t-shirts and cards - it all depends on the campaign, really.

Question: I pledged at the $140,- level for the pdf's and Hardback, but I'd like to get the softcovers of the first part (and prelude) as well. (I intend to also order the softcovers from the LG site when each one is available). Is there any way to do this? An add-on option, perhaps?
Thanks,

I decided to get the $100 Legendary Planeteer reward, and added an additional $150 for the "My Hero!" add-on. The Universal Icon pledge was really tempting though, but I barely managed to exert enough willpower to be nicer to my bank account, heh.
Congratulations to Legendary Games for a phenomenal successful Kickstarter campaign. Cheers!
CB out.

For those looking for more insight into the new, playable, alien races, they do indeed correspond to our four iconic PCs seen battling on the cover of "To Worlds Unknown." While the individual species and characters are as yet unnamed, here's a little information on them:
Iconic #1 - Male half-construct fighter with an articial swordarm, two mechanical legs, and couple of other hidden enhancements which aren't quite as obvious.
Iconic #2 - Female half-plant sorcerer (verdant bloodline) living in symbiosis with the vegetation growing within her like a dryad carrying her own tree.
Iconic #3 - Male four-armed alien cleric with a stoic, monk-like faith capable of pulverizing anyone trying to impede his freedom or threatening his friends.
Iconic #4 - Male saurian rogue with elements of draconic, lizardfolk, and dinosaur ancestry, as well as vestigial wings useful for gliding and taking down prey.

Will this be a new class / archetype or something like that. I have been looking for a monk / cleric full casting class like forever, and the closest I have come is the Sacred Fist Warpriest from the ACG.
Color me interested !!!!!

Iconic #3...cleric / monk...Will this be a new class / archetype or something like that.
We aren't planning any new class or archetype builds for the AP yet, but when the campaign setting rolls around (hopefully sometime next year), who knows? Maybe? A lot of that will depend on how successful this Kickstarter turns out and what kind of interest we generate for more designs. So, if you'd like to see something like that eventually happen, help us get out the word on the current AP, and we'll see.

There are many things which might be coming along at various times... it just depends on how far this project goes as to when they happen!

No new product this Friday from Legendary Games, but if you enjoyed Pirate's Honor or Pirate's Promise from the Pathfinder Tales line, you know Chris Chris A. Jackson can spin a great story, and we are delighted to have him on board bringing his talents to the Legendary Planet Kickstarter! We're just over $1500 away from adding Richard Pett to the saga as well, with his asteroid adventure, Confederates of the Shattered Zone!

Chemlak |

Spots the URL edit, and thus proceeds to tease about the other typo...
So, Jason Jason Nelson, is this the way we're talking about people, now? I'm very interested in seeing what Richard Richard Pett does with part 4 (not to mention everyone involved in all the other parts), and fiction from Chris Chris A Jackson is just a wonderful extra.
(Normal pun service will resume in 3... 2... 1...)

Ooooh! I think I may want to do some funding for this ... glad I have a little time ... finances are ... strained right now. :)
Go ahead and pledge now so others can see the funding level going up and be inspired to jump on, too. If your funds fall short of your pledge level as the Kickstarter winds down, you can always adjust it however you see fit. But, if you hold off on funding us until the very end (when you've saved up and know you have the money on hand), the Kickstarter may not climb high enough to inspire others to pledge, as well...in which case, the product you hoped to buy, might not materialize as fully as you expected.

Hi Changer,
Thanks for reposting. We're actually considering a couple of options for how best to structure this. One of our goals with this Kickstarter is to keep the core pledge levels as simple as possible, so we will definitely be providing the option you are asking for, but we want to consider how best to do it. Father's Day weekend is a busy one (and most of today was already spent doing some activities with the kids), but I think by Monday we should have a new option available to get you exactly what you'd like to see!

Thanks to the spectacular Steven Caron, we have broken through ANOTHER stretch goal and have now added a new chapter to the Legendary Planet adventure path: Richard Pett's post-industrial cybernetic asteroid adventure, Confederates of the Shattered Zone! We've been talking with Richard for a while about working with Legendary Games, but recently he's been busy completing his epic adventure series called The Blight (look for it soon from our friends at Frog God Games), edited by our own Alistair Rigg. With that opus off to the production cycle, we are delighted to have Richard's crazed creativity and insidious imagination bringing new levels of awesomeness to the Legendary Planet project, now up to 400 pages and counting!
Now we have to start adding an avalanche of astounding add-on material before this entire project sinks into the Depths of Desperation! Meanwhile, let's take a quick look at one of our iconic characters, brought to life by the bodacious Bob Greyvenstein. You can see him in action on the cover of To Worlds Unknown, but for such a hard-bitten hero, he's feeling a bit nameless. Perhaps someone should become a Universal Icon and give him a name that will be written across the stars in every issue of our AP... and beyond!
