What isn't understandable is the greedy underhanded way they artificially raised the price with those in-game cash vouchers so the discounts merely pushed the game back down to normal price. Bad form, Rockstar.
Overall pretty disappointed in many sales compared to last year.I was wondering if I'm just misremembering. Many sales this year haven't been as insane as the years before, have they? For example, I got Deus Ex for ~3.5$ now, but seem to remember it was 2$ last year. No big difference and you won't hear me complaining either way, but it just seems a bit odd that the price actually went up.

The Encore in particular was startlingly bad - the listed many games on the encore... at their base sale-wide price. Stick of Truth for instance went on sale for 66% during a daily, then showed back up at 40% for the encore.

The underlying game architecture, code, story, and so forth is two years old. Whether it's gotten a bit of polish for a PC release or not does not change the fact that you are basically packaging an two year old game to people.
So no, not a chance in hell that I'm going to pay full price. I'll wait five years if I have to. If you want me to pay full price you can go for a simultaneous (or nearly so) release.
It actually got a LOT of polish for the PC release. Graphical upgrades, First Person Mode, introduction of Heists, and so on.

Hey, the summer sale is still a fantastic time to get a lot of games without going bankrupt. If one is willing to wait a year or two before getting new releases that pretty much means it is possible to buy them for real cheap at the summer sale.
Sure, sale was not as mind blowing as previous years, but c'mon... games for 10$ or less is a real bargain. You get so many hours of entertainment for your money.

So far not regretting my purchase of X-Com. Very fun naming soldiers after my friends and watching some succeed while others die repeatedly.
Rynjin, that is, in my opinion, the heart and soul of X-Com. I was a security guard in college and X-Com is never more fun than when I name everyone after all the other people who were on the security team with me.
It's amazing how that little bit of customization totally ramps up the enjoyment factor. I hope you keep having a blast with it! =)
