Kalindlara wrote:

Technically, Xemna is the apocalypse god in this situation.

(She was just recently made aware of this. She was not pleased.)

?

Long Story:
Xemna - the aforementioned paladin-goddess - was born a relatively ordinary Taldan noblewoman from a family of war heroes and soldiers. That is, until cultists kidnapped her and put her through a ritual meant to transfigure her into an invidiak. Though the ritual was halted by Iomedaean paladins at the last moment, Xemna was trapped as a tiefling of obvious shadow demon form. The family grew distant and unwelcoming toward their twisted daughter, and she soon fled her ancestral estate, joining the paladins that had saved her and journeying to Mendev to join the Crusades.

As her mythic powers grew, she began to hear the whispers of those she had saved. In time, she realized that she had become a goddess, and resolved to become a divine embodiment of redemption and heroism.

The First Sign (as it has been ominously called) was when she tampered with a reincarnate spell to try to preserve the returning soul's original form. When the reborn person awoke, it was in the body of a changeling with dark oracular powers (Apocalypse mystery, Wrecker curse). She is now one of Xemna's two clerics.

Recently, they encountered a mysterious villain acting in league with one of their enemies. This vulpine mystic was terrified of Xemna, and when pressed, revealed that (according to her occult circle of companions) Xemna was Anung un Rama, the Seed of Destruction and Angel of Apocalypse. The paladin-goddess was not terribly pleased by this revelation.

More background here.
