Rysky, do you think it is even remotely possible to write a good alternate class option for the Kineticist? (yep, we are that crazy at The Flying Pincushion)

Alternate class option, you mean like an Archetype?

Nae, alternate class, aka just like the ninja is an alternate class of the rogue.

Oh! Hmm, maybe?

I've always seen those classes as super archetypes (not in that they're better but how they're a complete overhaul). With the Kineticist I don't really see how, off the top of my head, to do make a "this is a Kineticist while not a Kineticist".

Mostly has to do with its variety and also it's limiting focus.

A Cavalier is a Knight is a Samurai.

A Kineticist can control different elements to make them do different stuff. They're limited and not limited at the same time.

Yep, you totally touched on the crux of the issue, the succubus has spoken!

Only idea I have is a total overhaul of how they use the elements, not blasting but doing other stuff. May be impossible to make something worth while. Thanks for the input Rysky, you confirmed exactly what I was also thinking.

Hey, will you pop into and comment on my Blue Rose thread? It seems like it should have more Paizonians there, but so far, aside from song recommendations, there've only been dots... and one awesome post by Crystal Frasier! :D

What's a good male name that rhymes with "Endrin," "Trian" and "Bhelen?"

Vardrin, Kholven, thats all I got.

It's my understanding that they already do other stuff than simply blasting.

As to an overhaul, that sounds like Unchained, more than an Alternate Class. As for making an Alternate Class, would the overhaul be enough to warrant one and not just be an normal Archetype or Unchained?

Tristam for Trian?

And Bhelen made me think of the names for Dwarves from the Hobbit :3

Granted the way I pronounce the names none of them rhyme with each other so asking for a fourth that rhymes with all three is rather difficult...

It's the names of Orzammar's royal family: King Endrin Aeducan, and his sons Trian Aeducan and Bhelen Aeducan. If playing as a dwarf noble in Dragon Age: Origins, you play the middle child between Trian and Bhelen, so what I was looking for was a name that sounds like theirs in a "Huey, Dewey and Louie" sort of way, you know?

It may help if I provide how they're pronounced in the game:

En-Drin, Tree-an and Bay-len.

Does that help?

That is right! Been awhile since I played Origins.

And not really, since even then the only similarity that they end in "n", so I guess a name that ends in "n" for starters. Or you could play the black sheep or maybe named after an ancestor Aeducan?
