Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

GM:
Wow, sorry about all that.

Ricven runs over to strike the chain that is gripping his companion.

Power attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 6) + 9 = 19

Crit confirm 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Sovereign Court

round 2 for manacles

vs Ad'ifaah 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

vs Venedictos 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Ven, you take another pioint of damage

Aerys finishes off the pair of manacles on Venedictos while Ricven is able to chop the final set out of the air. Looking around, you see no more animated objects as the room once again settles into silence.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

I cast Detect Magic to see whether there is anything else here.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

"Is anyone else injured?"

Male Halfling Paladin 2

"Im' good." Abe says cheerfully. "I wonder how we can put this haunt to rest?"

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

"Perhaps this is not even a haunt. Venedictos recognized these as constructs - perhaps they were created by this Whispering Way to stop any who might interfere?"

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'Saul nods in relief as no one else indicates they are injured. She says softly "Perhaps we should move on, after making sure this area is cleared of dangers."

Perception (looking for items of interest) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Hey guys, I'm in the other (Team Brawn) game. I also live next to Galahad. Just letting you guys know he is having some problems (nothing serious or bad, just hectic), but he should be back on by tomorrow (also a computer issue).

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

No problem - hope all is well

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

"Also, it might be a haunt and we just dealt with it. Prisoners who died in these chains, yearning for freedom, and we just cut their bonds. Either way, they seem to be still for the moment."

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Thanks for letting us know! Hopefully everything goes well.

"Let's damage the manacles in such a way that they cannot be a threat later, just in case."

The fighter sheathes his greatsword and pulls out the earthbreaker. He then smashes each of the manacles until there is no way for them to function anymore.

That done, he searches the rest of the room for anything interesting.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Sovereign Court

Ok, I'm back :) Sorry for the absence.

Aside from the debris mentioned before, you find nothing else. The manacles you destroyed were the only items that were not already broken.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

As the room appears empty, I continue on the counterclockwise rounds of the building and go to the next doorway.

I cast Detect Magic and carefully examine the door after some of the previous incidents.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Sovereign Court

refer back to harrow 9

The door to this room (the rectangular room just across from the room you just left) has fallen from its hinges. The rectangular chamber beyond seems to have once been a chapel, but now thick sheets of what appear to be cobwebs drape everything within in gossamer threads.

Anyone with knowledge religion can make a check. Same goes for knowledge nature

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Sovereign Court

Both Venedictos and Ad'ifaah recognize this as a temple to Pharasma.

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Aerys casts detect magic, looking to see if anything shows through all the cobwebs

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven examines the room.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'Saul calls out softly, "Be careful Ricven, there may be spiders luring thereabouts."

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven turns back and looks ad her.

"How big, do you think? Bigger than a breadbox?

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'saul shrugs helplessly, "I...I have no idea."

Keep in mind her previous Knowledge Nature roll was a "1", he he.

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

"This is a temple of Pharasma," Venedictos says. "While the Pharasmans are death on undead, to quote a very bad and inappropriate pun I once heard, I would imagine that many corpses passed through these walls over the years, and some of their spirits may yet linger."

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Does anyone have a torch, we can burn these webs away and see what lies within. I would rather if there are eight legged critters in here, that they be on the ground, and not in a web.

Ad'ifaah takes whatever source of fire is available and begins to burn the cobwebs away.

Sovereign Court

As Ad'ifaah begins to wave the torch through the cobwebs, you all scittering noises and shadows begin moving within the room.

You can roll initiative if you want. I will do the rest this evening.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Sorry for the long delay, I will be on regularly again from now on.

Round 1
Ad'ifaah
Ricven
Venedictos
Corey
Aeleanor
spiders
Aerys
Shol'a'saul
Abernathus

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

I delay until after Vendictos, assuming that he will start one of those cheery bard songs of his.

Eight legged monsters. At least this is something that we have all seen or heard of before.

After delay:
I move to F4 (5-foot move) and then attack with a power attack/cleave at S3, hopefully cleaving into S5.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 1 + 1 = 14 --> extra -1 from power attack, +1 from Bard song (I hope)
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 10 --> +2 PA, +1 bard song

Cleave Attack(S5): 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 12

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

Bard song is a standard opening volley for him, so a good assumption. Venedictos' warm baritone soon fills the Pharasmin temple with music once more, though with an affirmation of life instead of death.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Forgot I have a 18-20 crit with the scimitar. Here is my crit confirm on the second hit if the first one hit.

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 1 + 1 = 15
Crit Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 11

Also, if I get the cleave, my AC is -2, so AC 19.

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven also waits until he hears the empowering music. Then he moves forward to cleave two of the spiders.

Power attack cleave 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Damage 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 16

EDIT: AC 18, comment below appears to be correct! Thanks for the info. Ignore this: AC 16 for turn. Also, since first attack missed, I cannot make a second one.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Ricven - your AC should still be 18. It only drops to 16 if you cleave and since you did not hit your initial hit, you did not get a chance to use the cleave. At least that is my understanding of cleave.

Female Dark Elf Rogue 2

Aeleanor steps forward and swings for the legs.

Curved Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Sovereign Court

Ad'ifaah steps up and her scimitar flashes in a shimmering arc, dispatching two of the spiders easily. Ricven, attempting to emulate Ad'ifaah, steps up also, but stumbles on the first swing. Aeleanor also tries to take advantage of the flat-footed spider, but her blades skips off of the creature's carapace. Corey looks to cast a spell, but then mumbles to himself and does nothing. Aerys, Shol'a'saul, and Venedictos each hear him say, "No, must not lose my spells!"

On the Cleave issue, Cleave is a standard action that you declare you are using. Whether it is successful or not, you still take the -2 AC.

The remaining spiders move forward eagerly to their prey, but they are unable to get past your armor.

S1 vs Ad'ifaah 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
S2 vs Ad'ifaah 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
S4 vs Ricven 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
S6 vs Ricven 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Spider spider lots of legs;
Time to send them to the dregs.

I swing at the next two to visit my reach.

Power Attack/Cleave-scimitar: 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 1 + 1 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 9

Unfortunately, my scimitar gets caught in the webs.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'saul readies her spell for one of the spiders to enter into her range. As the spider lunges at Ad'ifaah, she touches the vermin and it feels a wave of fatigue wash through its body.

Shol'a'saul casts Touch of Fatigue then steps forward and touches the spider attacking Ad'ifaah (S1) Melee Touch 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 1 = 14 inspire, Will save DC 14 or be fatigued.

Male Halfling Paladin 2

"I hate spiders!"

Abe swings at one with his sword.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

Venedictos continues his inspire courage as a free action and reaches over Ricven with his glaive to strike at a spider.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d10 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 + 1 = 6

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Sorry for not posting - failed my fort save vs. flu last week...
Aerys looks curiously at Corey's statement for a brief instant, then hurls a bolt of energy at one of the skittering horrors attacking Ad'ifaah.

Magic Missle at S1 (or S2 if S1 already down)
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Also fighting a winter illness here, sorry for the dealy.

Ricven tries again to cleave the spiders attacking him.

power attack cleave 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 6) + 10 = 17
power attack cleave 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 6) + 10 = 18

Sovereign Court

Ok, I'll move us along

Abernathus kills the spider in front of him and Shol'a'saul fatigues her target as well. Corey continues to mutter to himself almost as if he is arguing with himself. Aeleanor slides into a flanking position and slashes at another spider. Though she misses a vital spot, she still is able to cut the spider in half.

Aeleanor vs spider 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
confirm crit 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
damage 1d10 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + (5) = 15

Sovereign Court

Unfazed by their losses, the remaining spiders continue their mindless attack. But the results remain the same :)

spider vs Ad'ifaah 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
spider vs Ricven 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

I will say the remaining two die as I do not foresee them surviving all of your attacks :)

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Aerys nudges one of the spiders' dead forms with his spear. "They probably used to leave food lying out. That's how you get bugs like this..." He casts a curious look at Corey. "Are you well, friend? You seem distracted..."

Sense motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

If possible, aerys would also like to cast detect magic & look thru the webbing to see if anything lights up
