You're having fun? Then clearly you don't understand how good games work! And you're probably having fun wrong, too!
F is for fire THAT BURNS DOWN THE WHOLE TOWN...

/completely unfair strawman ;D

Actually, I think that part of the song pretty neatly sums up those who're complaining about there not being enough PvP yet.

And before someone gives me a hard time, keep in mind that I am one of those people. :P

Depending on how frustrating said unfinished state is currently making me, I alternate between commending them for their bravery and innovation, and grumbling about playing an unfinished game.

But either way, it is really hard for me to compare PFO to the other games I play, because I've never had the opportunity to experience a game in this stage of development. Edit: I have participated in MMO betas before, but those were just PR opportunities for games that were basically done with development, essentially year 5 of the 5 year cycle.

Additionally, I think Goblinworks is being forced to do some tasks backwards.. Like normally you'd have your art assets and UI polished and worked on for years before letting hundreds of players connect remotely, but GW has decided to work on the network connections and server structure first, so we can at least connect to see the pitiful, unpolished UI. And that's not me disparaging them, its simply a choice of development strategy that isn't the model I'm accustomed to.

Wow, I am so there! So when I see that we still have to target our enemies by chasing their tiny running heads with our cursor (in a PvP game!), I'm at one end, and then when I am lining up some craft jobs, or find a batch of much needed resources in some AH, I am at the other end. Also the antics that are already going on, on the political and diplomatic level are promising.

But I have *such* a hard time gauging why GW would put in husk-looting, before adding the ability to target players with your keyboard.

Or why we still can not see directly what company a player belongs to, in a flash, yet the War of Towers has been implemented and already begun. I feel that Crowdforging should have altered some of these priorities, but I guess some things are too tied to development pipelines.

Anyway, good post.
