I like the thought of Secret Empire. It would be a nice expansion on the Marvel Universe. Like you, however, I fear it will be more Hydra.

I think 22 episode seasons of Agent Carter would wear thin.
Plus I wouldn't want Agent Carter to become tied to the latest MCU event. She's blessed by being stuck back in the past, and not likely to have random episodes that serve as backdoor advertisements for Winter Soldier or Age of Ultron or whatever.
(Although, given the time period, she *could* tie in to Hank & Janet Pym adventures, or early Winter Soldier stuff. Thankfully they haven't gone there yet, or, hopefully, ever.)
Technical that "zero matter" stuff is actually tied to Doctor Strange.

I don't think so. The series could easily hold its own timeslot.

I actually enjoy the tie-ins. They weaken the narrative of AoS, but strengthen the MCU narrative as a whole, which is way more important. I mean, let's be honest, if AoS was disconnected from the MCU many of us would have either no bothered or cared way less.

Technical that "zero matter" stuff is actually tied to Doctor Strange.
I thought I read somewhere that the "zero matter" is going to be the same as the "Darkforce" they introduced with Blackout over in Agents of SHIELD. If I recall correctly, the plan is to use the Darkforce/Zero Matter in the same way particle accelerator explosion over in Flash - as a kind of catch all energy that has different effects. Might have been on Blastr, so take it with several grains of salt.

I really enjoy Agent Carter, but I think it benefits from the tighter storytelling required by the shorter seasons.
I definately agree. I think MOST (if not ALL) "full-length" TV shows would benefit from having their seasons cut down to somewhere between 9-13 episodes.

Three thoughts:
2. I first thought the goo was Graviton. Then I thought it was Symbiote. Then I realized I was wrong.
3. Wilkes seems like interesting character. And no, I don't think he is gone. I was thinking that he MIGHT be MCU version of old Nick Fury villain Centurion, who appeared in Thunderbolts series as well. Now, he is not shown to be villainous in any way...yet. And while Centurion was named Noah Black (if I remember right) and he is not, it's still possible. They did call Fenhoff by different name first in the first season to cover his true identity.

Some interesting goings on…
I loved seeing Howard again! And doing science with Jarvis. And just being, well, a 50’s version of Tony – the parallels between the two characters are awesome.
I also liked seeing Sousa get his science on. It was a nice reminder of the “Science” part of the SSR.
My one theory now – if they are, indeed, going to have Peggy’s funeral in the Civil War movie, I wonder if they’ll take the opportunity in this series to finally reveal who her husband will be (we’ve got at least three candidates now), then have that character appear at the funeral in Civil War.

Facial expressions suggested to me that Peggy already has. Not that she can prove anything at this point.
I like the fact that they threw a bit of Hedy Lamarr into Whitney Frost. (If you don't understand what I mean, read the Wikipedia article on Hedy Lamarr.)

I think there was once a comic where Masque talked about her scarred features and that she hides "her true face" behind that mask. When she looks at her face, all she sees is horrific face. But when Moon Knight and later Hood took her mask off, she was beautiful as ever. I think it's part of her neurosis, and she also uses it to her advantage these days- if she tells everyone she is scarred, she can disguise better since they don't see her coming.
Unless you are Kate Bishop, of course.

This was ok.
I did think that Peggy got off a little too easy in her fight against Whitney. I was intrigued, however, by both Whitney and Dr. Wilkes reactions to the left-over zero matter in the corpse tissue. I look forward to seeing where they go with this.
I kind of liked the inclusion of science inventor dude (can’t remember his name), and the red-headed chick who sits in the Talent Agency front.
I though the bits at the end with Sousa and his fiancé were a bit much. I mean, come on. Peggy was a friend and co-worker, someone he’s partially responsible for (being chief and all), so of course he’s going to be worried. That she (correctly) theorized Peggy was the reason he came to California should have at least been partially mitigated by the fact that he just asked her to marry him not long before. Granted, I might be missing something, as my DVR got its recording schedule messed up and stopped a little early, so I didn’t see the ultimate end to that scene.
I also like the addition of the Talent Agency front lady and scientist dude.

According to Stan Lee, back in the day Kirby drew a picture of Doom without his mask, and it turned out to look just like Stan himself.
Dooms done so much body jumping and resurrecting, i'm not sure what the status of his face was in recent times...
But originally, that was one of the original ideas. It was just a little scar but his vanity insisted on the mask... which he put on before it cooled thus burning himself much worse... due to stupidity...
The end with Sousa was just dumb piled on dumb. Will Hollywood ever write a realistic romance plot?

That seems like it'd be a problem in a lot of relationships.

Perhaps its just the fact that I have a ton of poly friends, but I expect more emotional maturity out of college freshmen.

That WAS initially true, and is fully canon. However, he put his new-forged mask on before it had cooled properly, so his tiny little scar is now completely lost in the scorched remains of his face.
It doesn't seem to me that Sousa is settling.

But he wasn't willing to be straight with Peggy. He even "ran away" from her by taking the posting in California.
And he is now paying for that.

Thing is just about everyone is in Love with Peggy.
Peggy is this unstoppable force of Nature that just sweeps people up. Sousa, Thompson, Daniel, Jarvis, Howard are all taken by her. It's not romantic attraction or even sexual attraction, they are all simply captivated by this force that is Peggy Carter and will follow her into hell itself.
Like following a legend

Really? I'm nearing 30 and I'm still not sure all my friends (including the poly ones) have that degree of emotional maturity. Most do, but all? Nah. 10 years ago a lot fewer of 'em did.
