List of Items!

I've been voting for a bit and haven't seen my item and also haven't seen it on any public lists so far. Anyone who's collecting items mind if I PM you to see if my item made it on your list, or even better since it doesn't reveal an author<->item pairing, sending me your list somehow so I can check myself?

I helped template check around a hundred items, and have kept quiet about them all.

If that's good enough, yes, you can PM me your item name - I won't guarantee I have seen it, but I will tell you if it is on my list (but not any voting details).

That works fine for checklist purposes. I'm just thinking of all the nervous contestants who want to know in real-time if their items are still in circulation. The item lists of the past two years provided that community service, something which an after-the-fact checklist can't really do.

Eric, good point. I am still open to open up the list to certain folks, but I might have to put it on a separate sheet so I can maintain my unique item list.

A separate sheet sounds like a great idea. Your personal list remains under your control, but the community gets a second, more comprehensive list to which they can add items in real-time. Sounds like a win-win to me.

I have added a few more, but I noticed there are potentially hidden duplicates

Items that start with "The a b c" have been entered in the sheet as both

The a b c AND
a b c OR a b c, The

So you might want to double check those.

Using those numbers, a simple frequency of capture algorithm I found on the web estimates a population of 1,111 entries.

That algorithm assumes that matching pairs are distributed completely at random, though, not biased towards entries that need more votes, so take that estimate with a grain of salt.

Well with that taken into consideration, I think we could put that number as the upper limit. It won't be more than 1,111 items.

OK, I took a little break from voting to breakdown the data I've been collecting. Here is what I have so far:

Armors: 124
Shields: 58
Weapons: 317
Rings: 136
Rods: 63
Staves: 74
Wondrous items (DQ): 4

Total: 776

The five most common armors are:

1) Breastplate: 24
2) Full Plate: 22
3) Chain Shirt: 18
4) Hide: 10
5) Scale mail: 9

The five most common weapons are:

1) Dagger: 35
2) Longsword: 24
3) Rapier: 16
4) Short Sword: 13
5) Greatsword: 11

Among shields, Heavy steel/metal shields reign supreme making up 30 of the 58 I've seen so far.

Okay so I hit my three goals of dedicated, see my own item and have ten I really liked, so from here I will keep voting with less of a intensity, might work on warm up maps on the slim chance I step through and joke items instead.

Still no sign >.<

It's actually become a bit of a game for me now, how close can I get to 970 before I see my item? - currently 220 votes remain to equal that ;)

I'm choosing to believe that the reason I have only seen my item once is due to it being Superstar...it clearly gets upvoted every time so it doesn't come back in the mix that often!

One of the other posters waited for 970 votes, so that's the first target, then it's the 1,000!
