Eh, I just barged in and dropped my limited resume. What's more you and I were hardly the only partycrashers. I figured we were just making the 8 timers thread into a RPGSS veterans thread. But I guess I'll tag in here too.

I have 6 runs (including this year) at the competition andI've been following it since year one. I took off 2010 and I think 2011, I'm pretty sure it was 2 consecutive years. Then I returned in 2012 placed in the Top 16 and then repeated that last year. Hoping to 3peat my way into the contest.

*nod* I am in the same boat GM_Solspiral. I always hit Marathon about halfway through but never get champion. If my count was right last year I was just over 4,000...

I do still remember the item I never statted up that I thought about for that first year: the ettin crown, a classic twinned-type item that would have fallen into a bunch of the common design traps.

5th time entering. 1st was an absolute disaster (just awful). 2nd wasn't so bad (looks at RPGSS tag). 3rd year I made the Top list. 4th year was me getting too cocky (bad Thomas! no blood item!).

I feel like an 8th timer, only because I have been following the contest since the very start. But I only actually entered the first three years, and then this year. 4 out of 8. Hoping to repeat 2008...once again as a first timer since we are not doing Wondrous Items now.

This is my third time entering, and my third time voting. I'll try and keep my Marathon voting title this year, and maybe get my second time in the top 32, but I suspect there will be some stiff competition, so if I don't make it, there's always bard college!

Five times for me, though I've followed and voted every year.

First submission was the first year, and I didn't really understand what I was doing. Item was a sort of social role-playing item with terrible mechanics and a ridiculous name.

Skipped a few years of submitting after that. Then a couple years of misunderstanding what the audience and judges were looking for, and being far too dark and bloody.

Last year I did ok, made the top 100 at least. I think I was still too niche and not that exciting.

This year I think I have my best idea yet, we'll see if the execution holds up.

This is my second time entering (the previous year I found out about it too late). Last year I made it into the top 100 with an item that was over-designed and fiddly.

We'll see what happens this year...not sure I really grokked the design space with my item.
