Help me pick a familiar to ride.

Advice

So, currently, I'm going to be playing a race that's diminutive, and I'm wondering what familiar I should get. I want to be able to ride it, and I can already fly. Is there any recomendations?

Toad because... I don't need a reason! RIDE THE TOAD!!!

I love the image of riding the toad!

At 7th level, a faerie dragon would be wonderful when you get improved familiar feat.

But for now... What do you want to do? Greensting scorpions are pretty fast and give you a bonus to initiative. Rabbits are soft and fuzzy and give you a bonus to initiative. A hawk / owl would be nice in combat.

Tell us more about your character, and we'll be better at advising you.

Hmm

Can i add HALLUCINOGEN toad?

Well, she was born the princess of a kingdom, died, and was brought back as a lyrakien with the child template. And mostly I'm trying to figure out how to boost my damage so I don't have a 50% chance of dealing zero damage.

If you're creating a character who literally IS a special snowflake in size, you need to think about other things than doing physical damage.

If you take the undersized mount feat, you could ride a diminutive creature.
Ride a bat. That's where it's at.

Archeraptoryx because bird dinosaur

I think you should work towards the Mammoth Rider prestige class. I thought it would be amusing to try to talk our Halfling paladin into working up to that class, but it would be even funnier for your character, whose main problem with the mount would be getting it to notice that you are there.

"Cower now... For I am a batwizard. I am like batman, only I ride a bat."

That is so very tempting. Riding a bird-dinosaur sounds so freaking amazing.

What's that?

*Looks it up*
...
Yes.
Thank you for showing me that glorious post. That was freaking amazing. I see if I can get it (I'm a wizard, so probably not.) Because that's amazing. I shall seek myself a method to get that, so I might ride into battle on my glorious tyrannosaurus rex.

Ride in shirt pocket of tank complain after fight of him bouncing around too much ...

You: can you not jolt and move to much I'm still in here
Fighter: the great dragon of unholy doom the size of Texas sent me flying to my death off a giant mountain... sure I'll not bounce around as Much

You: thanks thats all I ask

Well, for hilarity, a Flying Squirrel.

You don't have a 50% chance of dealing zero damage, unless your foes all have damage reduction or immunities to subdual damage. When your attack hits, it always does at least one point of subdual damage.

If you're a wizard and you want something big to ride it might be easier to get Craft Construct and build your own mechanical T-rex.

If you want to boost your damage cast touch attack spells. Wizards don't need to do normal damage.

Preferably ranged touch attacks, since you probably have 0 foot reach.

Make your own homunculous. Talk to your DM and maybe get him to allow you to customize the look without changing the mechanics. Add acid breath or poison. Fly by spit attack + your ranged touch attack/debuff spells.

You Will Rock.

(Also consider the ability to add more abilities with gold in addition to familiar abilities.)
