AC for Ships and Steering Mechanisms

The Player's Guide says add Sailor Skill to a ship's base AC. Do you add that sailing skill to the steering mechanism, too? Or is it just 12 for a steering wheel?

You add that to all parts of the ship yes. Please note the steering wheel also benefits from +4 cover AC bonus if located in stern castle...

NOTE: if steering wheel in sterncastle or forecastle, AC is 10 + 4 + sailing skill. The AC 12 you mentioned above is for oars...
