You can run the installer as admin and it should work if you then launch the patcher from it's option on the final screen of the installer(Launch Pathfinder Online checkbox). IF that does not work you will need to find the patcher (either through one of the shortcuts on either desktop or start menu or by finding patcher.exe) and right click it, run as admisintrator.

You should do that with all installs you run so yes run the installer as administrator.
HOWEVER the warning is to modify the way the "patcher" runs so follow the instructions and do those steps after it is installed as well.

I got a 1.2GB download, followed by a large patch when I launched Patcher.exe.
I'd would like to point out it's a slow patch, not a large one, it should have to download very little actual data. It just takes it a while to confirm your files match what it expects. I know that's not much difference(time taken is time taken) but it is based more on your computer performance than your network performance which could be a big difference for some people.
So that means that my super fancy fast new computer should zip through the patch compared to how it crawled through the 1.2 GB download. I'll let you know how it turns out.
took 3 minutes (less than, actually) to download for the patcher and a further minute to complete.
