So final Land Rush week results. Not a lot of movement, but there was a surprising attempted move by Hammerfist Clan from M to A, which was unsuccessful as Agents of Erastil had it locked down by numbers alone. Lots of population increases among the guilds this last week.

Welp, I was wrong, alright everyone time to get to Politicking some more.

Eastern Sun became Kreuz Bernstein. Did someone else have the 0.5 bonus instead?

And congratulations to all!

Nah, that was mean leaving it on the list. On the actual spreadsheet nothing refers to that cell.

Congrats to all those who finally have a place to call home!

Goblin Squad Member

Nevermind, I need to read descriptions more.

Now that the land rush is over, I can officially announce that Tavernhold will have a tavern. Hopefully. Once we can build such things. I know how out of character it is for us and that it might have deterred people from joining.

Goblin Squad Member

Good luck with it, Virgil. :)

And the Tower Wars start when? :-)

Grats on everyone who got a settlement.

Goblin Squad Member

In the Ghetto~

Scarab Sages

Awn, X won't mark the spot... It would be fun...

Kabal you disapointed me. :)

Congratulations for everyone that could get their first 30 choices...

Heh. I had a feeling this was going to be a way quieter week than people were hoping.

10 weeks in the same spot - so no surprises for us. I guess Golgotha close to V did deter others - at least the ones ahead of us - or they felt they had better options.

Time to reach out to neighbours now that we finally know who they are. Might take a while as I'm traveling right now. But planning needs to begin in earnest.

Congratulations to everyone else who got a settlement.

I expect most of the folks paying attention where hoping it would be about as quiet as it was :)

As a self-interested player, of course I'm glad things ended with no big upsets.

As a financial supporter of a game I hope to be a longterm success, it's a little disappointing that there wasn't anyone waiting in the wings with a hundred votes nobody knew about.

Personally, I believe PFO's big challenge isn't going to be the waves of griefers/"hyper-competitive PvPers" that Bluddwolf often references. I believe the big challenge is gonna be not flopping.

That is why I have allowed Kabal to live. They may give thanks by offering the tribute of trying very hard not to step on Freevale as they walk by to steal Forgeholm's dirt. :)

We are most grateful for your leniency.

Will you require yellow haired dwarves, or raven haired dwarves as your tribute during our return trip?

I thought KC liked green and pinked hair emo dwarves.

Congrats to all!

... and now the real game begins

Goblin Squad Member

in a month....

Congrats people!
First challenge ends, another begins :)

Goblin Squad Member

No idea about the other new settlements but Keepers are still recruiting and are happy to talk to any charter companies (mercenary/crafting/trading or just groups of friends) who missed out on their own settlement and are looking for a place to call home.

So, I was totally wrong on where Kabal would go, now I have to make a new prediction.

EE will start Friday, September 26th, 3PM Pacific/6PM Eastern.

We have 3 more builds between now and then, although we still have...

  • Threading
  • Looting and Item Destruction
  • Encumbrance
  • Consumables
  • Expendables
  • Critical Hits
  • Magic Items
  • Enchanting

They actually do a hell of a lot more work than what you all see in the notes that they send out on Thursdays. Anyone in Alpha can tell you a dozen fixes in between builds.

It seems they already have the ground work for Encumbrance, Consumables, Expendables, Critical Hits, Magic Items, and Enchanting in place, just from seeing all the options in game, so its a matter of turning them on and balancing.

I think we will have another 6 weeks of major builds, and then about 2-2 1/2 weeks before the 26th they will turn on the Servers for extended periods of time releasing builds every couple of days.

This is my prediction.

I'll make my own prediction that Cheatle is half-right, and that Friday, September 26th will be the weekend when all EE players are invited to join the Alpha for a final week or two of full-load stress-testing.

Congrats to all and let the games begin!!

You mean, the games didn't start until yesterday??!!

Damn that Goodfellow character, he told me he gave me an alpha invite in Dec. 2012 and I though this was the game!!

I predict that Nihimon's Prediction of Cheatle's Prediction will be within 4 weeks of being right.

Just chalk it up to how I once thought of being a weatherman when I was younger. :-)

Goblin Squad Member

Ha, yep, I get ya.

Goblin Squad Member

And actually, one of my classmates - whose birthday was the same as mine - actually did wind up being a local weatherman in Bakersfield, CA. :-)

I predict that Cheatle will use his estimate to either make a claim of fact about the release schedule, or to priviledge the hypothesis against evidence that the release date will be delayed beyond his estimate.
