Can it every actually be a Happy Monday? I suppose it's possible, just very unlikely. Still, what if Monday was actually Tuesday? Then wouldn't Tuesday be the horrible start of another week?
Is Monday truly horrific, or just a victim of societal development?
Either way, it's a very rainy Monday here. Lots of accidents reported on the radio as I was driving to work. My own travel was largely uneventful and mostly unimpeded.
Then I get to the office and Thomas isn't here again. I think the last time I saw him was maybe last Tuesday. That's unusual. Not, however, unpleasant. I like being the only person here. It's peaceful and quiet.
Which is weird, considering anyone who's ever met me knows "peaceful and quiet" are typically the last things anyone experiences when I'm in a room. I can be....somewhat loud...on occasion.
And by "on occasion" I mean most of my waking moments that involve other people.
Yesterday was a good day. Did a lot of back issue reading. All Captain America stuff. And I watched Godzilla Minus One again. And smoked those turkey breast cutlets, which came out great.
Finished off the day starting a show I hadn't gotten around to yet. It's called Alice in Borderland. From what I've read, it's based off a manga series. I'm only up to episode 3, but it's been brutal so far.

Wow! Pope Francis passed away. I knew he'd been ill, but this was still a bit of a surprise. I didn't agree with all of his stances, but he seemed to be a decent fellow.
Rest in Peace.
Although I doubt it will be that way for me. At least, not completely. I slept poorly last night. It's one of those things. Like a real man should, I suck it up and move along.
Still, it's going to be a long day. I've got work all day, then a scout meeting tonight. Oddly enough, I don't have a single scout on my list for a Board of Review tonight. Typically, the last meeting before Court of Honor is packed full of BoRs.
I had a pretty good drive to the office, though. Once I got past the idiot from my subdivision who was far too much of a wuss. Not to mention the a-hole bus drivers who deliberately get in the way of people trying to exit the subdivision.
I continued on with Alice in Borderland last night. Made it through three more episodes. Good stuff. Really weird. I see a lot of missed opportunities, but it's been a pretty solid show so far.
I think my favorite character so far is Ann. Not only is she smoking hot, but she's also highly intelligent and a skilled investigator.
I left the boy a form to fill out for summer camp. It's a merit badge selection form. He's got to pick his top ten. I told him to make sure he fills it out before he goes to school, so the wife could send me a picture of it. Then I can fill out the PDF and print it for tonight's meeting.
All of which means in another half hour or so I've got to remember to text both him and the wife to remind them.
The radio played Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd this morning. I think it might actually have been a few years since I last heard that song. Good music to relax to on the drive.
Ah well, almost time to move on to the rest of my usual morning posts. Then it'll be time to really get going on another glorious day!
Since it doesn't have a name yet, I've refrained from creating a new thread in the movie section about the next Godzilla offering from Toho. Still, what little I've heard about it sounds awesome. Same director as the phenomenal Godzilla Minus One. It's a direct sequel apparently, and it seems they're dumping a good bit more money into the sequel.
Not only that, but the recent studio success is apparently fueling an expansion. I think it would be glorious if the world got more Godzilla. That would mean I get more Godzilla. Then my life would be even more gloriously awesome than it already is.
Minus the health issues of course.
And the work-related stress.

But, hey! My kids are healthy, smart, and relatively sane. The dog hasn't been a complete a-hole in over a week. And I keep expanding my back issue comic collection with some truly awesome stuff.
I heard Pedro got the old golf club treatment over in the Last of Us TV show. I stopped watching because it was so boring, but now I may have to go catch this latest episode.
Meh, I’m sure they’ll find like 50 other projects to stick him in. Maybe even some good ones.
Pathfinder LO Special Edition, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, PF Special Edition Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

Pretty sure it’s deliberate. I pulling out from the passenger side, and the ones who prevent that end up getting back over and turning left at different spots just a little further down the road.
The lousy bums.
For someone else. For me....most definitely not.
Tired zombie is tired.
The gods of sleep sought fit to vex me once again last night. That's two in a row. So now I'm really tired. Pretty sure the only thing keeping me going is coffee and hate. Not hating anything in particular, just a kind of general FU to the rest of humanity.
So I guess I could also say "Cranky zombie is cranky."
Of course, most of you kids have never seen me angry.
Hey, though! At least the traffic gods were smiling on me this morning. I guess they figure since the sleep gods were being rat c&%$s, they'd be the nice ones today.
For that, I thank them.
In other news, the scout meeting was utterly boring for me last night. I didn't have a single Board of Review. I suppose that's a good thing. The scouts got all their stuff done well in advance.
So this morning I'll log into Scoutbook and download a PDF report of all the stuff that needs to be purchased. I'll use that to put in an order with the local scout shop. I'll set the order pick-up time for Saturday, and swing by to get it all on my way to the comic book store. Huzzah!
Before this week is done, I'll take stock of any extra supplies and deserts I need for the Court of Honor and pick those up over the weekend. I'll also have to work on the script for the event. Pretty sure I've got the one we used last October, plus some notes on changes I need to make.
And Thomas is back in the office. So I got to wish him good morning for the first time in a week. Also Huzzah!
Happier, I suppose. It's a mixed bag so far this morning. I got a bit more sleep last night but still slept poorly. And the drive in was vexed by the traffic gods for most of the way. Kept catching lights right until I got near the interstate, then at the last U-turn I take the person in front of me was a special kind of stupid. He stopped. Stopped right at the end of the u-turn to wait for cars to pass, even though the u-turn lane becomes its own lane on the other side. Damned idiot.
But it's Thursday, which has become kind of my office Friday. Since actual Friday is work from home day.
And if I start watching a bit early tonight, I can possibly finish up Season 2 of Alice in Borderland. Which is both cool and sucktastic.
Not sure what's going down today. I do have a 10 am webinar. And I might go ahead and create a line list for the one project I'm on. It would be a very short list, since there are only about three lines.
The dog has been suspiciously well-behaved for the last two weeks. Relatively speaking, of course. She hasn't destroyed anything. I could be jinxing things just by typing this, but hopefully not. I prefer more well-behaved dog.
And there are only about 10 weeks before the boy goes on his northern tier trip. We've been slacking on his workouts, so I've got to accelerate things for him.
I'm trying to avoid paying to have him go to a gym, so I typically have him do workouts with things around the house. I could take him over to my brother's house, since they have a rowing machine. Their schedules are a bit unreliable though, so I'm trying to avoid that.
We had a bit of rain yesterday evening that cooled things off a bit. The rain had stopped by this morning, but still left things a bit cooler, though humid. It was about 70 degF when I took the dog out to potty an hour and half ago.
So now I'm back to "work from home" Friday, after having last week off for Good Friday. Although, in truth, this is just like another day off anyway when I don't have to drive to the office. And could stay in comfy clothes the whole day if I chose to do so.
These days are often kind of laid back for me. Especially in the last month or two, when work has slowed down a bit. I'm hoping it'll pick back up real soon, because I'm getting a bit bored.
At least the boredom is easier to deal with when I'm working from home. There are a lot of little things I can get done.
Yesterday I tried to attend a webinar on bellows. Thought it might be cool and informative. And it was.....for about 15 minutes. Then the host had technical difficulties that cut their feed. After waiting another 15 minutes or so to see if they'd come back, I gave up.
Sad, but not surprising in the day of over reliance on digital technology. I much prefer in person learning opportunities.
I think I'm going to make the boy do some of his exercises in the morning as well. Get his blood flowing good and strong before school. And it gets him off his phone a bit more. Double win!

Mmmmmm....Popeyes.
If I'm going to eat food that's bad for me, I might as well eat food that tastes delicious.
