On top of that, I feel like crap this morning. I think it might be a combination of several factors. I haven't slept well most of the week. That's left me not only tired, but stiff and sore. On top of that, I think allergies are hitting me with hints of pollen in the air. And on top of that, I think the new cholesterol medicine doesn't like me all that much. I didn't take it this morning.
And my stomach is bothering me.

My co-worker was back in the office today after being out in the field yesterday. When I saw him this morning, I started making up a bunch of weird crap about what happened in the office yesterday. Then I followed it up with the old "No, wait! That's my soap opera!" gag. It reminded me of the good old days around here. When the other Fawtly folk were still around, and we were the cool kids to hang with.
Anyway, if I continue to feel kind of blah, I may go home early.
I should probably start dosing myself with allergy medicine on a regular basis. That might help stave off some of the worse effects of the stupid pollen.
At least I get new episodes of Reacher and Invincible tonight.
Ugh. Not quite sure how I lasted the entire day at work. Felt like crap the whole time.
I was at least able to keep busy at work yesterday. And today is work from home Friday, so I know I'll be able to find things to do.
Still feel rough, but after a kind of good night's sleep and stopping the new medication, I feel a bit better. I'll have to get in touch with the doctor to let him know about the medication, though.
And I say "kind of" a good night's sleep because the wife and kids got up in the middle of the night to try and see an eclipse? Of course their antics woke me up, despite their best efforts.
We had a new episode of Reacher last night. It was pretty good, although the annoyingly stupid DEA agents are still alive. Neagley was in this episode, though. So that was awesome. Two episodes to go in the season.
I've got to find my iron so I can make the boy's new dress shirt look nice and presentable. He'll need it for his trip to DC.
Speaking of....
It's going to suck getting up in the wee hours tomorrow so I can deliver him to the school by 4:30 am. That won't suck nearly as bad, however, as having to go get him from the airport next Tuesday by 10:30 pm.
It's been a long time, but I seemed to recall how to properly iron a dress shirt. It was for the boy, so it was a bit smaller than I'm used to, but I still got it looking halfway decent.
Next up...showing how to tie a tie.
Cloudy and warm Saturday, that's for sure.
I was both early and late getting up today.
We had to drop the boy off at his school for his trip to D.C. this morning. So I set my alarm for 0340 (though I was up early than that), to get him to the school by 0430. When I got back home, I took my usual medicine and went back to sleep. Then finally got back up about 15 minutes ago.
Incidentally, some of those kids going on the trip with my boy (there are about 18 from his school), are going to be really unhappy when they get to DC. They've got shorts or skirts on and it's like 50 degF up that way.
Otherwise, I've got a typical Saturday ahead of me. Minus some of my usual at home morning routine for time constraints.
Some of our neighbors have a child who rides the bus with our daughter. They also have a son in our boy's class, who is also on the trip to DC. So I at least had someone to talk to at the school this morning.
Yes....I talk to people. People I like, anyway.
Anyway, the boy has (or will have) about $250 to spend on a little card my wife got for him. Plus he had about $50 in cash. I made sure to tell him to buy a souvenir for his sister.
I get the impression the rotisseries chicken I ate yesterday has decided it will have a mild disagreement with my digestive system. Very sad.
I was kind of successful in teaching the boy to tie a tie yesterday. Only problem was the tie my wife bought for him was intended for a much smaller human. That's the problem, sometimes, with allowing a chick to buy clothes for a dude.
I ended up lending him one of my ties to bring with him.
Anwyway, I've got one or two minor things to finish before I get a shower and start my day in earnest.
How about that! Turns out it’s looking like being a bright, sunshiny day.
And my comic book store has hired yet another other mentally ill person. Still, I suppose even people like that need jobs. I just tend to pretend they don’t exist.
First time I can recall that was on a train in Japan. Some crazy dude talking to himself.
Cooler than expected Sunday, that's for certain. Woke up to the temperature outside hovering around 50 degF. Brrr...
Still, it's at least going to be another bright, sunshiny day. And there's currently almost no wind to speak of. I'm going to wait another hour or so for the temp to climb a bit more, then go out front and do some cleaning up of the front lawn area.
Stoopid leaves.
The boy made it safe and sound to D.C. yesterday. He sent his mom a few texts about things. Including one text thanking her for the opportunity to make this trip.
My daughter asked the wife yesterday if she would take her to Hobby Lobby. This being my wife, she conveniently came down with a bout of "my stomach is bothering me". This didn't surprise me in the least, as my wife is highly resistant to the idea of expending energy (except for her kickboxing classes).
So, to try and salvage something from the situation, I suggested my daughter could watch a movie and pop some popcorn later after dinner. This seemed to at least mollify the child a bit. And she remembered later on, as after dinner she chose to watch 101 Dalmatians (the original animated version, not that live action remake abomination).
While watching the movie, I brought up the long simmering discussion of who is the worst Disney villain. It usually comes down to Cruella or Maleficent. One wanted to make a fur coat out of puppies. The other wanted to murder a young girl because she didn't get invited to a party. Tough choice.
Of course, I had my own ideas on the worst Disney villain (the initials AD and KK come to mind), but those are real life people, so I don't think my daughter would understand.
I was hoping to smoke some turkey breasts today. It's been more than a month since I've done that. Fate, it seems, was against me this weekend. The grocery store only had one pack of the turkey breasts, and it's really not worth the effort unless I can get two of them.
So I opted for what has become an old standby - chicken breasts. I'll marinate them and throw them on the grill later this evening.
Six and a half f$&@ing bags of leaves cleaned up from in front the house. Tired zombie is tired.
Stupid trees.
Ye gods! It appears my wife is……cleaning?!?
Must be a pod person.
Speaking of cleaning…..
I’ve got to get some dishes washed. And some more laundry done.
And Happy Saint Patrick's Day to one and all!!!

Unlike probably many who celebrate this day, I do have Irish blood. Half, at least.
With the kids out of school for Spring Break it was an easy drive in to work. I caught a few lights, but since I had left early than usual, I still got to work before my normal, school year time.
Not that I was in too much of a hurry. Near as I can tell, this week will continue the whole slow time at work thing. Still, I did have some work to do yesterday. Monitoring a hydrotest for one of the clients. That's easy, though, since it mostly involves looking at pictures and responding to text messages. Which is the only reason I do it.
The boy sent his mom a few more texts yesterday. One was a picture of him wearing some sunglasses he either borrowed or bought. They had American flags on the lenses. The other was a picture of the White House, where he mentioned his favorite thing about it was seeing the snipers on the roof. Because they are snipers.
And he again thanked his mother for the opportunity she gave him.
Going back to Saint Patrick's Day...
I made sure to wear my green today. Not only do I have a green dress shirt, but I also have green t-shirt on underneath. The green t-shirt goes back to our 2016 family trip to Disney. It was my family, my younger brother's family, and our mother. We were in the park on Saint Patrick's Day and had all bought green, Saint Patrick's Day themed shirts to wear. The kids have all since outgrown their shirts, but I have not.
Well, I hope someone has a Happy Tuesday. I doubt I will.
Monday was mostly annoying and stupid. Reminded me of some people around here.
