Anyway, I've got stuff to do.

		   YEEEEAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Otherwise, Happy Tuesday.

My wife had a 5 am phone conference for work. Which means she was able to get the kids up, and I was able to leave the house a bit earlier than is typical for during the school year.

And this toaster did not toast my toast very well.

At least I had an awesome drive in to work. I only caught two lights the whole way.

And the classic rock station played Smells Like Teen Spirit. So now I'm feeling a bit on the old side.

All my information for the NCEES website finally came through. So now I'm good to go with pursuing my PE License in other states. Well, I was good before, but now it'll be easier.

Of course, not too easy. Louisiana has you take two tests: one for ethics, the other for laws and regulations. Very annoying.

And I've got to research the degradation over time of HDPE pipe. It's for a client. I have HDPE information, just not sure if I have THAT information.

And now it's officially Halloween Season. My coworker brought in an orange plastic skull as a decoration for his office. I realized I could probably bring in enough stuff to decorate everyone else's cubicles and offices, and not have to take down any of my own stuff at home.

Well, that was a loooonnngg day. But now it's Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday was work all day, then get home and bring my daughter to her pottery art class. Then back home, eat dinner, do some stuff around the house. Then pick up my daughter from pottery art class and bring her with me to the scout meeting (after getting her some dinner). During the meeting, the wife showed up with the boy and we exchanged kids. After the meeting I was finally able to wind down back at home for a bit.

While I as dealing with the daughter, the wife had brought the boy to his orchestra concert at school. They do several of those a year, just to torment we parents.

At least I had a decent night's sleep. Followed by a relatively easy morning, and easy drive to work.

Maybe not an easy drive, so much as one that worked largely in my favor.

And now it's just 24 hours plus one workday until I can watch the new Salem's Lot. Huzzah!

Not sure what I've got going on at work today. Some pipe stress analysis to complete (as soon as I figure out what's going wrong with it). Maybe some drawings to check. And finishing up my paperwork for a New Mexico PE license.

I finished up the Louisiana paperwork yesterday. Including those two very annoying tests.

Ugh! I had to transmit my NCEES record to Louisiana, which cost $175. Then those a-holes at NCEES have the nerve to say "Oh, you need to rework this bit here that we already gave the okay". For something I. Just. Paid. Them. To. Transmit!!!

		   Again, I say, what a-holes!

In the end, the information was transmitted. Now I just wait to hear back from Louisiana.

New Mexico is a bit different. I had to fill out a form, then get it notarized. So I was able to get that to the company in-house person to take care of sending it off (and paying for it!).

That was about the extent of me being busy yesterday.

Then I went home, did some Scout stuff, ate dinner, and played a little D4. Beat the game with my storm druid.

This morning I had a nice, easy drive in to work. For the most part, anyway.

Then I get here, and my co-worker starts to tell me something he liked about the Rings of Perversion. F%$K that blasphemous crap and its stupid memberberries and mangling of the lore. None of the people (and I use that term loosely) involved in that show should be allowed anywhere near anything resembling TV or movie entertainment ever again.

At least, I'm hoping it will be. Hard to say. I've got another busy weekend coming up, so not sure how much there is to look forward to.

Plus, I think my AC has a clog in it again. Which will mean getting the AC people out to blow the line.

And I watched the new Salem's Lot on Max last night. I was less than impressed at this latest adaptation of my second favorite vampire novel.

But....if I get a chance I might go to a comic book convention this weekend. It's put on by the people who own my comic book store. If I do go, it'll probably be on Sunday.

Of course, that's a big "if". I've got all my usual stuff to do this weekend, plus a few other things.

For example, the dog is still scratching a bit, so I might work with the boy to give her another bath. That'll be fun.

And I've got to take the boy to get some new hiking shoes. He'll need them for the troop's upcoming camping trip to Big Bend.

		   Well, now that's over with....

We were interrupted by some of my Friday morning rituals.

Among which were preparing lunch for my daughter. Since it's work from home Friday.

Speaking of.... I suppose I should move on with my other usual posts, plus at least one extra. By then I should be ready for my second cup of coffee, and to start whatever work projects the day might bring.

Woot! I found my googly eye collection!!

Now we can put eyes on the skull my coworker bought for his office.

I also grabbed a few decorations for my own desk. Not much, just a few animal skeletons. Plastic. Honest.

The wife and I just got back from lunch at the Wacky Mongolian. I'm a little anxious. Last time I ate there, I came down sick the next day. Not a stomach thing, that seasonal virus I had a few weeks ago.

If it happens again....well...I've always loved Wacky Mongolian, but...

Now I've got to do a bit of backchecking on drawing changes the project manager didn't do properly. It bugs me (and not just me), that he doesn't do these things properly. He's a smart kid, but not a good PM, in my opinion.

I have come to the conclusion that the USPS and UPS must be joined at the hip. Maybe they share managers or something. How else to explain their intertwined incompetence? I recently ordered some back issue comics from a website. I received a shipping notification yesterday, with a UPS tracking number. When I checked that tracking early this morning, it said the package would be delivered around 7pm this Saturday. When I got back from lunch, I checked the same tracking link (not really sure why). This time it said my package was delivered, while also giving me an option for USPS tracking. Oooookay... Checked the mail, and sure enough, there was a package out there. Except it wasn't the back issue comics I ordered. It was a graphic novel I had backed on Indiegogo. A graphic novel I knew was shipping soonish, but had not yet received a "your item has shipped" email. So then I went back to the tracking link for my back issue comics, followed the link to the USPS, and it says my back issues will be delivered...by 7 pm on Saturday. Weirdly incompetent. Yet not really surprising, considering one is a government entity, and the other is union-backed. So it's really probably a matter of incompetence and not caring about the customer.

Hey, though! At least I got that graphic novel. Probably be the last one I back for the dude behind it. He kind of went off the deep end into severe a-hole territory recently. Reminded me of some folk around these parts.
