Sometime later this week, I’ll have to get a frame for the Kelley Jones art I ordered along with it. That’s one of 30 pieces he did.

I also stayed to way too late last night playing BG3.

And I just managed to piss off my wife and daughter. My daughter because I spoke harshly at her for complaining she was hungry but rejecting everything we suggested she eat. My wife because I spoke harshly to the girl. I also got angry with her because she wasn’t exactly helping the situation either.

Anyway, I’ve been doing laundry. Now I have to do some dishwashing. Later this afternoon I’ll put some turkey breast tenderloins in the smoker.

Somewhere in all that, I’ll also try to bag and board some comics.

Not sure yet. Probably not. Or, at best, a mixed bag.

There was annoying traffic. So that's never a fun way to start your work day.

And I do expect the week to be very busy.

And I didn't get everything done that I wanted to yesterday. Partly because I ran out of supplies. Bags and boards to be precise. I was trying to organize my newer stuff. It's been a while since I did that, and the books are piling up a bit.

I got through bagging most of my indie stuff, which there's a lot more of these days. Only managed a few things from my DC books.

So my plan is to check with the comic store right around from the office today. I want to see if they have bags and boards. If they do, I can leave work a little early to stop in and get enough to handle the newer stuff.

I do not, however, have high hopes. This place calls itself a comic book store, but it's really more of a gaming store.

Anyway, it's going to be a busy day. So I've got to move on.

Well, as I suspected, yesterday was sort of a mixed bag. A bit more good than bad though. Today is also starting off as kind of mixed. I'm not feeling well, but I had a pretty decent drive in to work.

In other news, it's good to be reminded of the double standards of the local moderators on occasion.

In other, other news, some folks really need to switch to decalf. Their anger will poison their health.

It won't get them in trouble here, however. Not as long as they attack the right person.

In the third bit of other news, the wife of the dude who's going to be taking over as scoutmaster for my son's troop has joined the committee as the adult Chaplain. Turns out she has a degree in theology. That's cool.

And I like both of them. They're really cool.

I'm expecting another package today. This one was a surprise. Not the item itself, just the timing.

I've got another scout meeting tonight. The weekly troop meeting this time. So far, I don't have anyone on my list for Boards of Review. That could easily change. We've had three meetings so far, and I've done 6 Boards of Review.

For someone, at least. Mine might not be particularly happy, though there's hope it will be.

Happy or not, my day is at least promising to be busy.

And then there are those currently in the path of the hurricane. Mostly folks in Louisiana. Hopefully, they will all weather this particular storm with no difficulties.

Anyway, yesterday was a moderately decent day. I got plenty of stuff done at work. Left a little early so I could stop in at a nearby comic book store and pick up some bags and boards. Got home and did some bagging and boarding. Received my new Graham Nolan comics in the mail (huzzah!). Then went to the scout meeting (where I ended up doing a bit more actual work work).

Polished off the day at home by playing BG3 for about 45 minutes.

At the previous meeting, the boy had lost his scout handbook. I was angry about that. On the way to the meeting last night, I told him to go over to the office and see if they had a lost and found.

Sure enough, he got his book back.

Anyway (again), when I fired up my work computer at the meeting last night, I saw an email from my supervisor about some mods to be made to one of the metering sites we're currently constructing. I don't think the necessary mods are my fault, but I'm sure they'll try to find a way to blame me. It seems like more of a civil issue, since it's regarding a helical pile and some elevation busts.

Sadly, I am expecting nothing new in the mail today. I might, however, order something from Amazon.

Yesterday was a....long day. Lots of stuff to do at work, including finishing some hydrotest documentation for a client. It took longer than expected because I was waiting on information from the client. Then they had comments on the documentation, which I had to address once I got home.

After all that was settled, I ate dinner and settled down to play some BG3. Then I did that until about 11 pm.

So now I'm back in the office. Had a good drive in because I was able to get out a few minutes early and get ahead of the damnable school buses. After that it was pretty smooth sailing.

I'm expecting today to be fairly busy as well. I have some pipe stress calcs to review and stamp. I have some drawings that were uploaded to the client's database, and I have to go in and make sure the drawing information is correct where it loaded up. And I have some drawings to add redlines to.

Luckily, some of that stuff can be spread out over several days.

I did end up ordering something from Amazon yesterday - some more mylar bags and acid free boards for my comics.

Tonight that damnable Adamantine Golem is going DOWN!

And tomorrow I get to work from home! Not driving in to work is going to be a pleasure.

Yesterday was another busy day. Right up until the last hour or so, at least. By then I had sort of finished all the stuff I needed to do and couldn't move forward on other things because I was waiting on stuff.

So I was a bit bored by then.

But, hey! I finally got confirmation from the NCEES website that I had in fact passed the PE Exam and was a licensed PE in my current home state. That would be the test the NCEES administers, by the way. The one I passed back in 2016. Not sure why I took them somewhere around 2 weeks to verify that one.

I did get to use my stamp again yesterday. That is one thing I actually like about this company (other than the short commute) - that they want me to make use of that damnable license, and encourage me to do so.

Anyway, the stamp was for that pipe stress report the younger ME and I worked on. He's a good kid.

I say "kid" but he's in his early 30s. Which, of course, makes him practically a kid to me.

It does bug me sometimes when I realize I'm old enough to be a co-workers father. Or the father of pop culture people.

It's so weird.

I nearly forgot....Happy Friday the 13th!

I almost wish I was in the office today. I might have been able to get away with the hockey mask and machete.

Another reason to wish I was in the office....My willpower is too weak to stave off the need for additional cups of coffee until later. So I'm already on my second cup. To be followed closely by my third.

Ugh! Maybe not so Happy Saturday. I feel like dog crap.

I know why I feel like dog crap. That doesn't make it any better, though.

It's a combo of weather during the week messing with my allergies. I really should start taking allergy medicine again.

Then the lack of sleep from the last few nights finally catching up with me. I've been staying up too late playing BG3, and then putting in far too full days.

And my diet over the past week has been worse than usual.

Hence, feel like dog crap.

I'm trying to remedy the situation, though.

I'm determined to go to bed early tonight. And I bought some healthy food at the store to help with the whole diet thing (which is something I've been intending anyway). Finally, I'm going to try and not push myself too hard this weekend.
