And it wasn’t me this time. Just someone engaging in juvenile attempts to bait me. Probably hoping to get me banned from the site.
Luckily, I can teach a master class in how to ignore little douchenozzles.
I finished watching One Piece (the live action version) last night. Since I didn’t have anything new in mind to watch, I decided to celebrate the release of that new Batman animated series (the one Warner didn’t even want to sully their streaming service with) by watching the actually good, classic Batman The Animated Series. Good stuff.
Methinks someone needs a bath.
And it isn’t me this time.
Although I will shower before leaving the house.
And my family do all probably need to bath. The kids get lazy about hygiene when they’re home with their mother during the summer.
But, no. I was speaking of a certain four-legged companion. She stinks.
So I’ll most likely give her a bath tomorrow. It’s easier to do that on Sunday, when I typically don’t have any errands to run.
I’m very much considering smoking a pork butt this weekend. And that would mean also smoking some maple bacon in preparation for red beans and rice during the week. Huzzah!
Somewhere in all this I may even try to see the Deadpool and Wolverine movie.
If I’m gonna do a pork butt, however, then I’d have to see the movie either during the day today, or sometime tonight or tomorrow night. Pork butts are a “most of the day” (or at least several hours) cooking event, so my favored time of a Sunday morning viewing would be right out the window.
Well just have to wait and see. I’m not in a terrible rush.
I have a feeling that particular film will be in the theaters for quite a bit longer. I do expect it to break the $1 billion mark.
And then I expect the MCU to go right back to losing money with Captain America 4 and that Agatha Harkness show (whatever its title is this week).
And now, before I start my day in earnest, I was considering doing a bit of mapping. Which is why I forbid the boy from getting on the computer.
Speaking of my children….
Only 11 more days until they’re back in school! Huzzah!!!!
Ooh….that reminds me. I’ve probably got a Scout Troop committee meeting this Monday. That’s when I assume they’re going to surprise us with the announcement that the current scoutmaster is stepping down.
At least they’ll surprise other people. I’ve known for awhile.
Time to play with my new generator. Hehehe…
It’s a small, portable one. Takes any one of three fuels: gasoline, propane, and natural gas. You get the most bang for your buck out of the gasoline, but I’ve got a natural gas hook up in my back yard which means I’d theoretically never have to run out anywhere to get fuel.
Finally got around to my second cup of coffee. I had to wash some dishes first. Which also involved unloading and reloading the dishwasher.
My new generator is nice. My only problem is something I was afraid of when I ordered it. It won’t just be a simple task to hook it up to the natural gas outlet. It comes with a hose, which looks to be the same size. I’d have to uncouple the existing hose with pair of wrenches first. That might be a pain in the butt.
So I might buy a propane tank and gas can as back ups.
Started watching a new to me show last night - Kingdom. It’s like Game of Thrones meets Walking Dead.
What is it with South Korea making awesome horror movies, especially ones involving my fellow horde members?
Anyway, the reason for my early start at household chores is because I’m smoking a pork butt today. That’s a several hours to cook thing, so I’ll be getting it in the smoker very soonish.
Typically, the calculation to smoke a pork butt 1.5 hours per pound. I’ve found the full time calculated to often be on the high side, however.
Other than that, I don’t think I have too much to do today. Some laundry. I was going to bath the dog, but since I’ll have my smoker set up on the back porch, the bathing thing might not be such a good idea.
I might run over to Lowe’s and pick up some of the extra items I need for my generator.

Twas a mostly quiet Sunday. I smoked my pork butt (which was delicious). I did some laundry. I read a comic adaptation of Dracula.
The only sucktastic about the pork butt is having to clean up afterwards.
Then, last night, I watched the season finale of House of the Dragon, followed by an episode of Kingdom.
And now here I am, back in the office.
The very hot office. For the moment anyway. It always takes the AC system an hour or two to catch up.
At least my drive in was fairly uneventful.
Though slightly annoying at times.
I don't expect much out of this week. There're a few things I know are coming due on the schedule here at work. Not enough to really keep me busy, though.
I have coffee, though. And I've eaten my breakfast. So I suppose I'm as ready as I can be for whatever the day may bring.
I slacked off just a bit on my drive to work this morning and paid the price. Had to sit through three lights I could have made.
Then I get to work and it feels like Monday morning in here. Temperature wise, that is.
Methinks they either started turning off the AC overnight to save money, or we have a problem with the system. Either one does not bode well for we early arrivers, but the second possibility is slightly worse.
The poor electrical folk are so busy. Mr. Jim has been getting here earlier than usual since last week. He's also been working longer hours, including over the weekend.
Well, I can at least hear something that sounds like the AC running. It doesn't feel like it's getting any cooler, though. So it could just be the fan.
We had red beans and rice for the first time in a while last night for dinner. I enjoyed it, but my continued slight health issues, did mar the occasion.
It seems like it's always just enough to remind me I'm having a less than joyous day.
Then again, if I didn't have at least a less than joyous day on occasion, how would I know what a joyous day was like?
I'm done with the first season of that show I've been watching called Kingdom. Only five more episodes and (I think) a kind of one-off movie to go.
Ugh. It's still warm in here and doesn't seem like it's getting any better. Might be that I get to go work from home today.
Another morning the office is feeling like a damned sauna.
Yesterday, they said it was a result of the chiller somehow being turned off overnight. I'm assuming it's the same thing today.
