Then I just have to remember to put it back on before winter. Only this year I’m also going to get a thermal sleeve to go over the entire configuration. I have smaller ones for my hose faucets.
The socket where my tooth was extracted seems to be healing nicely. And I’ve gotten comfortable eating pretzels again. Huzzah!
Planning hamburgers for dinner tonight. Then chicken fricassee for dinner tomorrow.
Ugh. I stayed up way too late playing BG3 last night. Past midnight, which is way too late for me.
And it’s been a busy day so far. With miles to go before I sleep. So to speak.
Started off playing BG3 again. Then got outside for some yard work with the boy. Then inside to help unclog the vacuum cleaner.
After all that, I trimmed my facial hair, got a shower and shaved my head, then stuffed a load of clothes in the wash.
Now I’m waiting for the wife to finish downloading the gazillion (or so it feels) pictures and videos from her phone to the computer. Not sure why she couldn’t have done that periodically since she’s had the phone.
After that, we’ll go get her a new phone, get lunch, pick up some stuff at either Walmart or Target, then pick up more stuff at Lowe’s.
Then we’ll come home so I can install a new air filter, wash more loads of clothes, and maybe some dishes.
Yup.....long day yesterday.
I still found some time in the late afternoon and evening to play a bit more BG3. I'm well into Act 2 now.
I took a break later in the night, however, to watch House of the Dragon. Brutal.
I was sad to see Blood and Cheese come to such quick ends, though. I thought they made a good pair.
Well, certainly not "good" so much as interesting.
Anyway, back in the office this morning. Oh joy.
If this week is as boring as last week, I might be posting on here a lot more during the day.
There was some little douche nugget on the road this morning. He and I were going about the same speed, but when I started to edge slightly ahead, he accelerated. Like he was determined to keep up with me or something.
So, just for s$%#s and giggles, I accelerated. A lot. That fixed him.
Otherwise, it was a fairly uneventful drive to the office. Which, by the way, is very hot.
It's always like this on Summer Mondays though. They shut the AC off over the weekend to conserve energy, and the system has to catch up.
Give it another hour or so, and it'll be more comfortable. A little while after that, and for the rest of the week, it'll feel downright chilly in here.
Will it be a beautiful day in the neighborhood? Maybe.
I won't hold my breath, though.
It'll certainly be a hot day. That's for sure.
And probably a tedious one.

But I have BG3 awaiting at home. So there's at least one thing right in the world.
The new Lead Mechanical went up a bit in my eyes yesterday. He kind of put the a-hole process engineer in her place. Just a bit.
We've also got a new lady working procurement and licensing issues for us. She's nice. Got a great personality.
While playing BG3 last night, I had this battle where I had to protect a portal from waves of enemies for 4 turns. The first time I failed, which ended the quest.
In my defense, it kind of caught me off guard. You go right from talking to the druid to defending the portal, without any time to prepare. So I got my butt kicked. And a well-deserved butt kicking it was.
The second time around, I switched out my rogue for the wizard and bought a few more scrolls with AoE spells. That gave me the fire power to not just kill the bad guys, but more importantly, slow them down.
The wall of stone, fire elemental, and barbarian I kept in front of the portal helped. As did the Evard's Black Tentacles, Cloud Kill, and Sleet Storm.
Almost time to engage in some very tedious donut making.
Well, yesterday was a bit more interesting than I thought it would be.
It was less tedious than I expected, at least.
And I actually got a lot of stuff done.
PLus, they had a BBQ company come out to cook us lunch. Which was good, because it allowed me to avoid eating the leftovers I'm pretty sure might have been giving me a stomachache. I just had some chicken and a bit of bread.
Although if this stomachache continues, I'll have to call my GI doctor for another apppointment.
And then, when I finally got home, it was time for more BG3.
Playing last night, I got one step closer to cleansing the Shadow Lands of their evil taint.
Then I did a bit more exploring. Got my butt handed to me by some weird chick in who seemed partially made of gold. Had to reload and cleverly trick her into offing herself.
Explored some more after that, then got ambushed by some githyanki. That was another reload, but the second time around I kicked their butts.
And now it's work from home Wednesday. One of the best things about this, I when I finally sign off, I don't have to drive home.
I do at least expect today to be somewhat tedious. Unless I actually get a chance to use Caesar II on an actual project.
And now that most of my cherished morning rituals are out of the way, I should probably start doing some actual work.
Although, hey! I did manage to cut myself back to 3 cups of coffee yesterday. So....progress.
More often than not, Thursday drives to work seem to find a way to suck balls. Even if just for a few minutes.
After I got to work, I had a text from my wife reminding me I forgot to call my mother for her birthday yesterday. There's no excuse for it.
At least work was busy with actual work stuff yesterday.
Yes, that was very random.
