Then the dog woke me up around 2:30 this morning. She'd had a bit of a nasty poop earlier in the day, so I was worried she might have to go again.
Took her out, but all she did was pee. Then I had to struggle to get back to sleep.
So I'll probably be dragging a bit more than usual today.
And I had two rotisserie chicken quarters left over from dinner I had intended to serve as my lunch today. I forgot to put them in the fridge, however, and they sat out a bit too long.
They're having a fair well party for the soon to be ex-group boss today. Not sure I'm going to go. Depends on the food at the place.
Even if I do, it'll only be for an hour or so.
He's a nice guy, for a damned commie.
Eat poop, Dell! I'm still snoozing your "updates"! You won't get me without a fight!!!
Up late last night playing BG3. Damn that tunnel leading to the hag fight was annoying as hell.
Then I was up early this morning playing again. Found the companion I’d been hoping for, and she’s every bit as cool as I’d hoped.
Then I set in motion the events that will hopefully get me a baby owlbear companion.
Now it’s time for a shower, then the grocery store. After that, I’ll head over to the comic book store.
I was debating taking a break from BG3 tonight. But I might do that tomorrow instead.
Up late again last night, but I got to kick the poop out of a bunch of Zhentarim, so it’s all good.
Cooked a steak for dinner last night, but a little too much. Ended up throwing some of it away.
I had good lunch though (Five Guys bacon burger and some fries), so it’s all good.
I haven’t had any pretzels, popcorn, or chips in two weeks, and I’m kind of jonesing for them. Stoopid tooth extraction.
Might be another week or so before we can scratch that itch.
The wife and kids will be coming home today. So there goes my peace and quiet.
The dog will be happy to see them, at least.
Oh, yeah. Before I forget….
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the dad’s around here.
I have to remember to put the turkey in the brine this morning. That’s important for dinner tonight.
The boy just texted me Happy Father’s Day. Since it’s still early, I’m betting he did it unprompted.
Well, after a nice, quiet Father's Day mostly spent playing BG3, the family got home. SO much for peace and quiet.
At least the dog was happy.
And so much for my hope one of the more annoying little turds around here might be gone for good.
Now I'm back in the office, something which I'm sure the dog will be oh so pleased about. I just hope she doesn't destroy anything for which I'll be tempted to skin her alive.
Dude came over to me asking help for something with Bluebeam, because he'd never taken the training. Sorry, brother. Neither have I.
And the dude almost no one likes anymore is here. I don't even bother saying hello to him most times.
One of the scouts from my son's troop has been in the hospital since the start of Summer Camp. Something with his stomach. I can sympathize. Hoping he gets better.
The lights are off in part of the office this morning. My part, to be precise. Only slightly annoying. Nearly makes me want to take a nap.
Anyway, nearly time to start making the donuts.
Ugh. A-hole boss set a meeting yesterday for 4 pm, which is usually when I leave. SO I had to stay extra time, at no pay, just so he could announce some reorganization.
AT least most of the changes he announced were good ones. Except for that one dude. He's an arrogant little toerag. Doesn't need any more of an inflated head.
And one client keeps asking for more stuff for a particular project. And my bosses are too much wusses to turn around and ask for more money to do the work.
Anyway, one of my favorite co-workers (he's about as close to a friend as I might have, if I had friends) got put in charge of all the designers, and I'm happy about that. He's practical and good natured.
Took a break from BG3 last night. I think it did me a world of good. I slept much better.
A-holes at the HOA denied my plan to fix my lawn by removing the tree whose roots are growing along the surface and killing the grass. Dead grass being something else they're whining about.
It's like they exist just to annoy people.
I did finally watch House of the Dragon season 2 premiere last night. It was pretty good, with a really dark ending.
Yesterday morning I was fairly cranky, and it seemed some folk noticed. My supervisor called me into his office to talk about it. I assured him it wasn't completely due to work things (stoopid HOA), though I did acknowledge that a certain someone (who was just made a Project Manager) needs to learn to either say "no" to a client on occasion or needs to learn to be more assertive when asking for more money for extra work.
Incidentally, I assured my supervisor that I liked him (which I do) and that he's one of my favorite managers (which he is). I also told him I think he doesn't have a duplicitous bone in his body (which I do think).
Because most folk who are managers simply cannot be trusted.
I've learned that the hard way.
Speaking of that certain someone who was just made a Project Manager....I think he'll actually do a good job at it. It's just that he IS duplicitous. I think he'd throw his own mother under the bus if he thought it would net him another promotion and an office.
Needless to say, I try not to present my back to him.
Also, I don't think I like the new Lead Mechanical Engineer. For some reason, he comes across as sounding like a televangelist. It bugs me.
Granted, I don't have reason to dislike him either.
