Okay, so... Complete hypothetical. If I were to run an AD&D 2e game here, it would be core rules + Complete series. Rolling... 4d6, drop lowest, arrange... or I can arrange for 4d6-drop-lowest arrays. I can reasonably handle a party of 4 (I've tried to run a campaign with a larger group and I failed miserably. 5, I could probably handle, at the max).
I will offer players help, especially if someone doesn't know the system. My games are RP-heavy, but 2e is fine for high-RP. So, for example, I could assign an appropriate kit to a PC based on background if the player doesn't know what they are.
That leaves... choice of world, campaign ideas, and choice of deities. There are the standard worlds out there, but there's also a personal world I've developed that I can brush off. What would people like to see?
Who would be interested in either a little nostalgia, or learning what AD&D 2nd Edition was all about?

Before we all get to rolling, here was my plan for arrays:
There will be five characters. I'll post five arrays based on dice rolls I make. Submitted characters choose an array and build the character from that. Then, one PC from each array will be chosen.
So, if one array comes up being super awesome, you'll have to compete with other players more for it, while a weaker array will have less competition and it's easier to get into the game with it.
Like this:
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 1) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 3) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 2) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 1) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 6) = 13
Array 1: 7, 15, 9, 8, 12, 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 2) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 2) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 2) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 2) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 2) = 14
Array 2: 12, 13, 8, 14, 13, 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 2) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 5) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 5) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 3) = 13
Array 3: 10, 13, 11, 12, 10, 11
Choose an array and build from there.
NOTE: This is just an example, these aren't the actual arrays that are going to be used.

Oh my, my last character in 2E was a Bladesinger which as I recall was really fun.
My favorite settings greyhawk followed closely by athas
Funny that you mention Greyhawk, I am re-reading through Return to the Tomb of Horrors and it says that was the original location of the tomb. Like I said earlier, I'm game for most any setting :)

I began my RPG experience playing in 2e, so I will gladly play.
I've been meaning to use my Psionics Guide and Skills and Powers book to make a kinda infiltrator character-very good for disappearing into a city, and, six months later, the city is in rubble and everybody is fighting each other. I'm thinking a Harper with a grudge against the Zhentarim.

Use the dice roller here: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 3) = 12
I tried to generate arrays but my dice luck sucks so bad...
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 3) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 1) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 1) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 3) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 2) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 6) = 14
9, 12, 13, 15, 14, 12
That's actually usable. Most of my array rolls were barely a 10 average.
