Better Solution to Point Buy Systems

The Society should allow people to roll their characters if they accept half experience per adventure. That would be vastly more acceptable than the stultifying effect of the thoroughly mediocre point buy scheme.

Point buy is used to help maintain continuity of play between games across the campaign. Rolling ability scores would be against that goal.

So the solution to point buy (which keeps everyone even) is to allow the people who roll their characters to play them more? So they can get more enjoyment out of a character?

1/2 xp isn't really a penalty when you only have to play the characters who rolled the really awesome stats and you want to curb stomp for longer.

It doesn't stop the problem inherent in rolling for organized play, which is namely someone from new york showing up in sanfransisco with his strait 18s saying "totally rolled if fair and square, see, theres a dms' signature on it!"

Really, you have to favorite your own post just to make it look like someone agrees with you?

There are several problems with rolling for stats in an organized play, including what BNW mentioned, additionally, since there is no limit on how many characters you can have in PFS, you could keep rolling until you got a good spread, plus with the rebuild rules before level 2, it wouldn't even need to be a new character to reroll the stats.

To be fair, sometimes people like their own posts for reference later.
