I agree with Nima. Harmini does have a scroll of Remove Curse but that will need to be combined with a Remove Disease (which she does not currently possess) within 1 minute to fully cure it.

She's (begrudgingly) suggesting to bring Teos to the Pharasmin Temple (The Grand Mausoleum) which happens to be right down the street from the Canny Jackal. Perhaps while we're there we could also question Sebti the Crocodile about the recent undead incursion in the city as well.


There isn't a full temple to Anubis in Wati (almost none of the old gods are represented there) but there is a shrine to the god in the Hall of the Blessed Rebirth. That could be where your sister works, as an official clergy respresentative to the Embalmers guild. There may or may not be some rift between her and the church of Pharasma. The head of the guild DOES have a conflict.


I know Malera has been busy and I was trying to give her time, but now I am swamped as well. This week my postings will be slow due to work. I will try to move it along today if I can but it won't be until later tonight. Sorry again.

At this point, Harmini would be in favor of checking in with Sebti at the Grand Mausoleum to possible find out more about what is going on and what can be done to stop it. She could be persuaded to venture out into the streets on patrol and deal with things first hand again if you guys want, though.

Also, has anyone heard from Malera?


About Malera. I had reached out to her a while ago, but have not heard back from her since her last post here. I am also on another AP with her on the Forums and she has been absent there as well. I asked the GM there if they had heard from her and she has not been responsive there either.

So, I am okay keeping her as a bot if the group feels we should hold the spot for her, but I am of the opinion that we should move on and find another player to fill the spot. I do want to hear from you though before taking it further. Please let me know what you think.

It's been 2 months since Malera's last post to the Gameplay tab... I see no point in holding up the game for her return. Life happens so no hard feelings here and I truly hope that all is well. If she comes back at some point in the future, maybe we can welcome her back into the story at that time. Who knows?

That being said, I think we should use our own time wisely to find a new player before we get too much further into book 2 and we can continue the game for the rest of us involved.


Of note, I do not want to pause the action/RP while we discuss this. Feel free to continue to post to the gameplay as well.

Alright, long busy weekend but got a decent amount done in terms of prep and logistics. Hopefully this will mean I can move us along without issues for a while.

I have added a token for Vash, though not onto a map yet. That will be later today I hope. I also loaded a few of the knowledge check "cards" to the campaign info tab. Specifically for the Mummy and the Esobok (thanks to Harmini), and give some visuals of them as well.

I also update the treasure list and the xp total on those screens as well.


I have added a token for Vash to the Roll20 site. It should be set so you can manipulate it (move it around) and see the map in that area. This is a more open map in the day, so I have it all lit up. There will be more dungeon crawl type maps that have line of sight issues, but you will see that when it comes up.

I was able to move Vash’s icon around a bit using my phone—it was kind of jumpy, but it worked. I will give it a try tonight on my PC to see how it works there.


Phone can work but I've found it had limits on there that a PC doesn't have. If you mainly use a phone, then try to be specific with OCC about where moving and I can move it as needed as well.

So, standard operating procedure when exploring or in a potentially threatening situation:
Bow out and strung, wands loose at hip on strap (still takes a move action to draw and standard to use, but no need to re-stow, just drop as free action). Also, typically on the lookout for signs of enemies (+9 Perception, +11 Track, extra +2 if Undead, extra +2 if Desert Terrain). Feel free to have Vash take a 10 or have him roll if needed.

SOP when not threatened or exploring: wands stowed but still attached to leather straps (to be more difficult to pickpocket) and bow unstrung and stowed in Efficient Quiver.

Heh, I was looking at the map and only saw the exterior so I have been waiting for the interior to be revealed. When I posted my message I still didn't know where everything was (thus my concern about the man's well being) until Vash's post made it sound like he did know where things were. And then it struck me, dynamic lighting! Its all good, I know what is going on now.

I'd like to say I counted it out, but I was on my phone when I posted. I think it works, though, although Vash rolled kind of low. If he shoots when the nearest skeleton is 30 feet away from him, it should be 15 feet away from the "dying man" who, unfortunately, already has an "X" on him...

No problem with the explosions, I had hoped to spare Teos the extra damage but their burst was 10' instead of the 5' I thought.

Also yes, I had mixed up my unarmed strike with the sickle damage. It was an unarmed strike I had made.

Gotcha, I can see the map now. I moved Vash north 15’ to the red square and then another 15 feet to get a bit of cover from the east wall and a more clear line of sight to the Red Thug.

I am hoping the critical confirms—when Vash’s arrows do the talking, he wants them to speak decisively.
