"Emerald Spire Base Camp"...what a *great* name. It sounds all K2-ish, that-way-be-your-death, and "here be dragons" marked on the map.
Emerald Spire Or Bust! - BECAAAAUSE IT'S THEEEERE, THAT'S WHY!

Just slipping in to take credit for the greatness of the name....

Yes - all credit to the name goes to Caldeathe - who isn't even a member.
Don't trust your leader with naming - or you get something like Thods Friends that still sticks to the group.
But my own members have been too quiet so far in regard to better names. New Absalom and New Oppara was more or less all I got.
caldeathe's entry just describes what we are after - now there will be even more egg on my face if we end up not even near the Spire ...
BUT WE TRY !!

(looks around carefully then whispers) You're currently at the top of our consolidation list if/when it comes to it.
You are welcome
(This post will get me in sooo much trouble)

Thod wrote:...if we end up not even near the Spire...Think of the amazing (and constantly changing) explanations you'll come up with to explain the name if you do end up at a distance. Everyone you run into'll get a different version of the story...
If you read anything from Theodum then you will know that he will come up with a good explanation.
The one writing history is in control of it. The chronicler might not effect anything short term - but he can be powerful over time - and you don't even notice it.
Did I just write this - need to be more careful what I tell people ...

Theodum looked through into his scrying mirror. He was keeping a close eye on his favourite settling spot. Earlier he had seen a single elf with elk insignia scouting the place as if in search for a settlement spot himself.
This hadn't concerned Theodum - he liked elfs - they were an old and knowledgable race and he was sure as long as he wouldn't see a whole army of these he wouldn't be concerned.
Off bigger concern were the wandering barbarians that he had spotted. Difficult to tell if it was possible to reason with them or if they would just burn and plunder any outpost as soon as it was build.
But there random movement in the last week seemed to have changed to a unified direction - mainly northwards.
Was this good or bad. Would the absence of the barbarians lead to other groups moving in?

Less than 24 hours to go and it is looking good. We are up to 18 members and have established ourselves in the top 15. Our current growth is looking healthy and we have started to branch out from UK PFS players only.
We have now members in Germany, Netherlands and France. There are still 2-3 members whom I dont know where you are from. I need your e-mail to include you in my update e-mails.
We don't yet have a webpage where we can put all these - but even then - you might need to contact me in case some information isn't as openly shared as this board.
I will sign off for a few hours. My group will come in an hour for the final session of The Dragons Demand. Wish them luck - they are about to slay a dragon - at least this is their plan - unless I slay them instead.
I will check later today for any more members. Please also take into account t that I'm UK time line. I will use my alarm clock to be up before the midnight deadline and do a last minute acceptance in case you come late.

Early, my good coffee golem...too early.
The point of my comment was that even the most pragmatic players may very well be role-players as well. I wrote a post a very long time ago about the need for evil groups, and the misconception that evil = griefers. Evil, done well, adds the spice to the game that every good aligned TT player has enjoyed. Without your villain, life becomes a very bland affair. At the same time, well role-played evil may not seem evil at first glance, or second, or a well scrutinized third. The evil you don't know is the one to fear most.

It seems the more members join the easier it gets to entice more to join.
Yes - there are some interesting observations in the data:
15 out of the first 19 guilds (numbers 4-22) are inside the top 17
Turning this around - only Hammerfall (56) and Thod's Friends (90) are later entries which currently are inside the top 17
Something else of interest:
A lot of guilds ahead of us are made up of multiple initial guilds. Who knows - maybe we will get some smaller PFS oriented guilds knocking after the first week.
Looking back I realize it is just 7 days ago - with just 7 members at the time - that I decided on the goal to settle outside the Emerald Spire. With hindsight it seemed ambitious - but looking ahead I know it was the right decision.

Theodum thought about Alexander Damocles speculations and had to laugh. How ill informed was he. Didn't he know that Theodum had an Andoran background and was fiercly anti-slavery. That might have been before he joined the Grand Lodge - but his stance to slavery hadn't changed.
He had selected enchantment and necromancy as his opposing schools because of that. Attitude. Wasn't a charm akin to slavery of the mind and raise dead equivalent to slavery of body and soul.
The whole land rush was highly competitive as he had found out. So best to leave Alexander to think about him what he wanted. Leave him uneducated. Theodum wouldn't reveal his secrets to him.
The true power of the Pathfinder Society was the field work. He remembered clearly the missions he had set to field agent Tiddlepot before he went out to [redacted].
It started with a targeted hit list [redacted] followed by the primary and secondary success conditions to raise up in prestige inside the new lodge. Tiddlepot was an experienced agent - lacking any magic - but he had his own ways to convince.
Ah - there was the raven with the report from Tiddlepot back. What fortunate timing. Let's read what results honest field work had delivered.

Cennapod a sibling of Tiddlepod was always amused how Theodum lived up to the end of his name whenever he got Tiddlepod's name wrong especially as the -pot's were nutty as fruitcakes.
Maybe it was the way the he wrote the d , human's always thought it was a t well it's tricky for them to understand all 206 characters in the Gnomic alphabet.

Ok, I've just tried to sign up, and it gave me this message: "You can't participate in the Land Rush unless you are signed up for early enrollment or higher."
I thought Adventurer ($35) gave me early enrollment, but looking at it again on my account it says "You will be invited to participate in the last period of Early Enrollment for Pathfinder Online".
Which I suppose isn't now. Should've paid $100.
Oh well - I'll see you guys when it's my turn! Good luck and may the dice be ever in your favour.

You might see if, in the store, there's an option to upgrade to the 100$ pack for $65. It won't get you everything, but might allow you into early enrollment?
You can look at what the package gets before finalizing and paying for your purchase.

I think you should start plans to have Theodum removed. His inability to spell might be first signs to develop into Drandle.
It was said Theodum adhores enchantment - nobody said anything about illusion. Sure he isn't a doppelgänger or Drandle in disguise. After all - Drendle also had problems writing names - including his own.

Some news update:
We are working on a webpage and we might just got access to a mumble server.
I'm also slowly working to delegate different jobs to other members of the guild.
I hope this will help us towards the next phase of growth.
If you are interested to join or even want to be active in our guild - there seldom was a better time.
I'm now waiting for our first land rush spot to be announced. Will we be next to the Emerald Spire or not?
Who will be our neighbours ?
Only a few more hours to find out.

I'm interested in this. I'm not a major poster on message boards of any kind but I do love my PFS. I backed the KS and i'm pretty sure i'm in early enrollment, however i haven't really been keeping up with the details of the game as it's been developed.
I've played a fair few MMOs through the years (GW1, DDO, WoW, GW2 are my main ones) and it'd be great to find people who have a PFS centric look on adventuring.
If anyone could point me to some useful little articles on how characters are made i'm interested to work out which of my PFS characters i should convert from paper to digital forms :)

Welcome, Luthor!
Given the differences between the Online and Tabletop versions of Pathfinder, the place to start is definitely the blog-post Your Pathfinder Online Character. From there, please just start asking questions in whichever threads here catch your eye, or start your own.
You'll find this to be a helpful community; many of us acknowledge it as the least-poisonous message-boards of any game we've played.

Welcome, George. Please think about introducing yourself as well in the Community Introductions thread, and check out the Nihimonicon for as much useful info as you'll find in one place.

I've just had a look at the Unofficial Pathfinder Online LandRush Map. It looks like the three established PC settlements are using mountains and hillsides as a barrier to being attacked. Is this something we should be thinking about in settlement defence? W might be an interesting spot with 3 sides protected and in the hills, as compared to V which is in the open and close to the hordes of predatory PCs wanting to dominate the Emerald Spire (and anyone else in the way).
Just another coppers worth....

Who wants to attack a guild as nice as us ??
Joking aside - I had the thought - but in the end what can be protection also means it is in the way when controlling POI around you.
So back to my joking - which had a kernel of truth - we just need to ensure we are more valuable to all the large groups alive as compared to dead.

And some of us are so low on the choice list that our entire strategy consists of wondering what nobody else wants....

I don't expect it to be a popular idea, I just appreciate the PFS presence in the game.
