It wouldn't be the first time I said something crazy that became an accidental spoiler.

Maybe the "Clock King" who died in police headquarters in season one of Gotham is the father of the "Clock King" who messes with time travel trying to fix his life. He might accidentally break into one of the timelines in The Flash.

Oh come on Cisco both great Caesars ghost and excelsior back to back... its just too far.

Vid,

Blame the Legends for blowing up time.

I'll watch the new one of those tomorrow.

Vid,

If you watch Legends first you might understand why Legends is now influencing Arrowverse.

Ok, a bit of a weak start for season 4. HI wish they had like 2-3 episodes of no Barry, or crazy Barry before getting him back. So that the fact that he left at the season finale had actual impact.

I dunno. The fact they needed him to fight Robot Samurai WAS impactful.

Its Samuroid thomas samuriod.

My wife, who before I got her into these series, and the Marvel movies, wasn't much into comics, about 15 mins in goes "Well of course he's messed up, his mind is existing in the past, present and future at the same time and he was probably energy for the last thousand years."

To which my 8yr old replies "They need to give him something small to focus on in the present"

I've taught them well.

Wow I would steal your family if I could.

I agree with Hama. A couple episodes without Barry, showing the gang actually being competent without him would have been nice. Good to see Vibe doing his thing in the field, though.
Still, decent enough that I will watch the next episode without reservations (well, more than I usually have for this show).

the bringing him back thing did seem a bit rushed. I guess their goal is for it to follow the flash (it is named after him after all) so that is why you don't see much from the 6 months and the season starts with them bringing him back.

I feel like it was very as soon as things started getting tough well be better bring Barry back we have a guy in a samurai costume. (although that wasn't really the reason. just an excuse to bring him back.)

Scarab Sages

Yeah, I agree they rushed bringing him back. They should have had a few episodes of Wally as Flash (I though the suit fit him well), working his ass off and stepping up to fill the void.

Overall, I thought it was a lackluster episode. Samuroid was kind of lame. And it looks like we're going to get more of the Jekyll and Hyde thing with Caitlin/Killer Frost.

One of my favorite parts, however, was Joe. His talk of faith (and Jazz album collections) was nice. As always, Jesse L. Martin is a wonderful actor.

I'm mildly annoyed by the Jekyll and Hyde thing, considering last season's finale suggested that she had incorporated the two personalities and was going to figure out who she was now.

I disagree with that concept... I think if they showed the team being competent without Barry, it only shows that they don't NEED Barry. And for a show named 'the Flash' the last thing I want is for Barry to be redundant in his own show. As it is... they have spent so many years showing Barry as the underdog in... just about everything that I really can't think of reason that he has the kind of street cred he seems to that Wally couldn't have covered/

I flip flopped between liking and disliking the idea the first tiem they REALLY need him they immediately have a plan to get him... that seems lame... until they point out that Cisco has been trying to do this since the moment he was taken... Still the conincidence wasn't great.

I think the episode would have been better if they had cut out Samuraoid completely and just had Team Vibe/Kid Flash dealing with some minor threats (love their 1/3 success rate) while Cisco focused on getting Barry back. Having the 'I need real flash NOW...' was just a bit too much.

I dunno. It didn't seem that much since Samuriod clearly could handle two B-listers.

But that's just me.

Dark Archive

I found the teleporter (peek a boo?) way cooler than the mysterious samuroid. I could watch a show with more of her!

Set,

Yes that's Peek a boo.

Their is one plus side to all this however fellas. We finally got high power Barry. Hopefully no more whining that I'm not fast enough. Now it Should be hmm I'll just go faster!

Pretty sure she's back this season.

That is the new costume that Future Emo Barry had isn't it? If not, I still like it. The larger gold trim pops better. Makes the whole thing really come together.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

It's also a slightly brighter shade of red.

We'll see if the new suit works better than the old one.

Right now, yes Barry is faster. But whether he STAY faster is a question for the rest of the season.

That and the Thinker being smarter than Barry. (Not that HARD!)

I'm personally hoping they don't nerf him later on. Lets see if the writers can finally keep the fastest an alive busy.

Vid,

They had three season to do that. I don't see this season breaking that record.

Iris: HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME BARRY???

Are you kidding me? THE WORLD WAS GOING TO END. THE WORLD???????
Why does Iris always makes two steps back whenever she makes a step forward? WHY

BAAAAAAAAD WRIIIIIIIITING.

I dunno. I could understand EMOTIONALLY why she felt like it. Sure the world was going to end but, it still hurts when your soon to be hubby goes away for months without a chance of coming back.

Plus side: I like Arrowverse Kilgore better than DC Comics version.

Can I just say, I'm REALLY interested in the direction they're going with for the Thinker. The creep factor in just two episodes is beautiful. I'm honestly engaged for how he fits into the Flash's career...

Tangentially related: who else thinks Heatwave was talking about The Joker in Legends this week?

Jem,

I missed it so I can't comment on that. But maybe?

Thurston,

I agree, he's a WAY better villain than Savitar.

He was explaining why he hates clowns. It was a very telling explanation, and that's all I'll say.

Scarab Sages

That seemed to be a bit different take on Kilg%re. I think I prefer the original comic book origin. Still, it was an enjoyable battle.

I liked some of the tech Cisco put into the suit, except the palm blaster - that was f+!#ing stupid.

I was thinking about Pennywise, because of the teeth remark.

Pennywise, maybe, but I keep thinking Joker. Mick's reaction was a visceral one, the kind you get from direct exposure.

Maybe he watched the mini-series?

A-zombie, eh. I think blaster was more for "stun your opponents when you can't hit them." Maybe?

I dunno...Clown phobias are kind of in now.

Although Oliver Queen just name-dropped Bruce Wayne, so who knows...

MMC,

Watch Season one again with the news papers Oliver picks up. Plus the fact Wayne Industries is mentioned... Admittedly it could have been just about Thomas Wayne but still!

Sovereign Court

I am very very eagerly keeping my finger crossed. Imagine Batman coming in, kicking ass of everything in the room and going to Oliver like "Mr. Queen you really need to work on your technique"

Both of those things happening in the same week stretches coincidence a little far.

Never going to happen. You don't make the guest completely show up the lead. See Supergirl/Superman fight.

Sovereign Court

But he's the Batman

Yes and by default if they DID bring in Batman, people would expect him to always win.

The only reason Supergirl 'won' was a lucky strike in my mind.

Sovereign Court

The only reason Supergirl won is because Supes let her.

Not according to the writers. She's just more powerful than someone who is larger, has more muscle structure, and had 25 extra years of solar exposure.

Greenie,

I'm not sure I'm ready to believe writers that let one of the most powerful ALIEN telepaths there is get blocked by a twenty something kid.

Totally consistent with J'onn's telepathy throughout the series.

Consistent maybe but he's supposed to be able to read minds! I don't buy it any more than the writers say she's stronger than him. Equal yes, not stronger.

The fight last season, it would have made total sense to just say that, since he was not in his right mind, his skills were affected - too much raw brute force, not enough technique. Would have taken just as much time as the explanation they went with, and wouldn't have insulted his fans.

My brother quit the show over that, because Clark is his favorite hero.

love it
