Go GammaSigmaAlphaOmegaBeta!

Wait, it was multiple choice wasn't it...

Aranna wrote:

It's less "men" and more "the internet" in this case.

Try randomly assigning letters of the Greek alphabet to their personality traits. That'll deffnitly help! :P

I call Dionysus!

1. Snarky quip-answer: You're overthinking us.

2. Still jokey answer: Don't worry, neither do we!
3. More legitimate answer: "Men" is an awfully large category, encompassing a wide array of people, so understanding "men" isn't going to be any easier than understanding, say, all women, in all cultures, everywhere.

We've moved on, we're on to the Greek alphabet, adjectives, and deities.

Shitticus!

I might have to start a "what did you get in the mail today" thread, just to see if it gets locked.

Random thought.

Is speaking in the third person, an evil act all by itself. Will a Paladin fall if they do it enough.

Tammy thinks so.

Wow another dead thread. Is it against CoC to discuss topics from another site? That may or may not be smart, but it seems unusual.

It's not that it's against CoC... it's at least in part that Paizo's staff don't want drama and arguments from other communities to be dragged into arguments here, or to be restarted using Paizo's site/forums as a new staging field.

That and, at least I surmise, there's some level of solidarity. I would be very very surprised if there were not several Paizo staff members who were part of the community on the other site in question. There's a lot of overlap in the interests, behaviors, politics, and preferences between the two groups.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this.

To be honest, the amount of moderation here at the Paizo boards is why it's my favorite gaming site to hang out on.

I really appreciate the strong effort to keep the boards civil-- even if that means locking threads and deleting posts.

I wish they would leave relevant factual posts even if they are alleged to be "off topic".....

If I were part of the moderation team this place would be a scorched wasteland.

I feelz for your pain.

Considering a lot of the recently locked threads are similar to topics that have been discussed here in the past, I think a lot of it has to do with the current tone outside of the site and not wanting the flamewar to expand here.

Keep in mind while one off-topic may not be an issue and might even be relevant it may lead to a spiral that ends up causing a lock.

Well, that escalated quickly...

TriOmegaZero wrote:

I admit, I'd probably do the same. But that's because in places where I moderate, there's always been a heavy "No politics, no religion, etc." ruleset, so the threads that start to go down those particular veins always get quickly redirected or shut down or deleted.

It's worked for twelve years, though. So we're doing something right.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that we will have some company here soon. Props to the first person to guess why.

I think I know what thread you mean, but I don't want to link to it, so I'll just say that you, Snowblind, are OBJECTIVELY RIGHT!

When a mama thread and a papa thread love each other very much, they give each other a special hug...

Liberty's Edge

Aww, shucks. That thread had gone so far past ludicrous that I was starting to have fun with it. :]
