[PBP] Wrath of the Righteous - Need one Melee / skill player

Recruitment

A player had to drop out of my RotW game and I am looking for a new one. That party has asked for a character with Melee/skill power.

All heroes must be good alignment (but i wont get too hung up on law vs chaos), 15 point buy and use one of the six backgrounds presented in the players guide. NO GUNS! or samurai/ninja. You can play any core race, Tiefling, or an Aasimar. Other than that just make your characters normal. Two traits, one from the campaign and no dual campaign traits in the party.

You will take the path associated with your campaign trait.

Current traits are "Child of the Crusade" "Touched by Divinity" and "Rift warden Orphan"
Current characters are :Archer Paladin, Dwarf Cleric of Torag, and Half-elf summoner

The party is level 1 but nearing level 2

-Questions?

15 point buy is very low for mythic PCs.

it is also the standard point-buy for adventure paths, which is why i used it. After all, you arnt Mythic at the start of the AP

The Mythic rules boost their attributes anyway.

So you're looking for Melee AND skill-based, or Melee OR Skill-based? Are they short on heavies (Fighter/Paladin/Cavalier), or do they just need melee damage with some utility (Barbarian/Rogue/etc.)?

This is a character I made for another WotR game that fizzled fairly quickly. I would obviously have to rework him to fit your creation guidelines and switch his trait to Chance Encounter. Let me know what you think.

Kind of interested, but to be perfectly honest, I never liked the fact that players are locked into the mythic path associated with the campaign trait.

For instance, Child of the Crusade locks you into Martial. Martial is suited for paladins, clerics, inquisitors, etc, which does kind of limit what you can play, especially given that it needs a melee class to fill the gap. Yes, I'm aware that inquisitor is a melee class, but the fact that it limits what you can pick is something I never liked, and I personally waived that bit.

Peter can manage melee well and pulls some decent skill numbers.

Taking Stolen Fury for the campaign trait.

Would need to rework gear depending on your requirements, but I think Peter can fit.

Going with Chance Encounter, explaining my faith in Desna. Incoming background, too. Going to need to think on how I got from southern Cheliax to Kenabres.

Sylvia will eventually blossom into a two-weapon fighting rogue. I might take some fighter levels, but I don't see it right now. Will depend on how she develops.

Thanks for the consideration!

I was planning to go Pally/Bard with this character in another game that died very early on. I would need to lower the stats to a 15 point buy.

What is the starting wealth?

I agree with CKorfmann, 15 is quite low. It may be the standard but non mythic is also standard. Id reccomend a minimum of 20 point builds. Your party stands a chance of getting whiped when they face

Spoiler:
Soltengrebbe. You will have to throw them a bone or underplay him for sure. I can't remember if I let my party do 20 or 25 point buys, but they consisted of a cavalier, summoner, slayer, and a paladin with a cohort that was also a paladin when they faced him. It brought the summoner to 2hp the first round, after which he ran, and then killed the cohort and dropped the slayer to -13 the following round. It was brutal

** spoiler omitted **

15 points is viable. Keep in mind that mythic tiers WILL be boosting attributes significantly. There's no reason to go above 20.

I disagree and I'm currently running the AP, though I am only on book 2

I am quite happy with 15pt. The difference between 15 and 25 point buy is trivial in the long term. But then I also never dump stats and willingly take Profession skills so my viewpoint may be non-standard.

The difference between 20 point and 15 point buy is usually +1 to a primary stat or +2 to a secondary stat. You hardly go from super-soldier to bunny-rabbit with the change. It can more than be overcome by slight adjustments to encounters or wbl, or... you know... good tactics.

I have a concept for a half-Orc Ranger or Barbarian with the Stolen Fury Trait and going the Champion Mythic Path that would be fun to play, let me put a profile together and see if you like it.

She was in an aborted WotR campaign, I can adjust the stats if necessary.

Her trait was Chance Encounter.

Could we keep the spoilers to a minimum for those of us who haven't played? And I agree with Rakeesh. It's hardly game-breaking.

Yeah, please, if you want to discuss the content of the AP in anyway please do it on a different thread.

I will be keeping the point but at 15, feel free to discuss this but I won't be changing my mind so if you don't want to play with a 15 point buy this isn't the game for you.

Starting gold is average, but the group is really nice, and will most likely be willing to share some of the loot they got.

Here is a link to the campaign, if you wish to check the party out. The character "Hegron" is the one you will be replacing.

We are looking for both or either, whoever seems to be the best fit, I'll let them help pick too.

I don't have time to address anything other than these points at the moment, but I'll look again tonight and see how it is going here.

Again, please don't be talking about the content of the AP in anyway.

This is Asmodea. Her parents were amongst the founders of the order of the god claw in mendev and she follows in their footsteps as paladins/hellknights/crusaders.

I provide all the information you need about the order in my packet as well as provide her character sheet, feat sheet, character history and four pictures.

She is a two handed melee paladin. She behaves as your standard paladin in many ways but is somewhat bad tempered and even more intransigent. With an extreme focus on Law, she should be able to get along with any party.

I have not bought her equipment. If she is chosen, I will.

Throwing my hat in the round. Tiefling Inquisitor of Ragathiel. Just have to change a few things here and there. But 6 skillpoints and all the advantages of being a inquisitor

Incoming back story for Silvia!

Back story:
Silvia was born in southern Cheliax in a small fishing village near the Cliffs of Fury. As a child, she learned to scale the high, rocky cliffs and became a skilled climber. During one such excursion at the age of 10, the village was assaulted by Chelaxian slavers, taking all who they could find. Hiding amongst the rocks, young Silvia could do nothing but fear for her family. It didn't take long for the slavers of House Arionne to find her, however, as they scoured the cliffs and nearby hills for survivors.

Branded as a slave, Silvia was sent to Egorian to serve House Thrune. It was while she was at House Thrune that her eyes were opened to the corruption that ran rampant throughout the rest of Cheliax. How naive she had been!

For four more years, she toiled as a slave, never knowing the outcome of her own family. Eventually, a band of Hellknights departed for the worldwound to the north to fight against the demonic hordes. Not knowing the difference between a demon and a devil, Silvia was confused when her master's eldest son, a ranking officer of the Order of the Scourge, asked his father for an entourage of slaves to serve his troops on the journey. His wish granted, she joined a group of others and began the journey north.

It was a long journey, and the slaves were only let out of their caged wagons during mealtimes, which they prepared and served. Eventually, though, the troop grew lax the closer they came to Mendev. Eventually, she saw an opportunity and with a few others was able to escape from their captives, disappearing into the night.

Unfortunately for them, however, they wandered into the blighted lands of the worldwound itself in their flight. Attracting the attention of a group of cultists, they were hunted down and most were slain or captured for rituals dedicated to the chaotic demon lords. Scared and alone, Silvia stumbled upon a beautiful and mysterious woman bearing the holy symbol of Desna. She was quick with a bow and was able to distract the cultists following with ease. As they made their way, they stumbled on other runaways, gathering a small group.

Eventually the beautiful maiden helped them find their way to the edge of the worldwound and finally to Kenabres. Sylvia never got her name, but remembered the Desnan holy symbol, a shining butterfly that lit their way to freedom. Since then, she has dedicated her life to helping those less fortunate than herself in Kenabres. Sometimes that entails taking something from a Hellknight or three, without their knowing. Since arriving in Kenabres, she's found that her luck has increased. She also wears a small medallion of a butterfly around her neck.

Thanks you Chris

Stats adjusted to 15 point buy and average wealth. All the info is on the alias. Thanks for your consideration!

Changed to Inquisitor of Iomedea.
Decent Tank, lots of skills and the burning desire to face the forces of evil

Backstory is done. Please also check crunch. I think its correct. Hoping for some feedback.
;-)

Busy day today for me with school and work. If you have a direct questions about your character's stats or something (like Mitleid above) that I didn't address, just re-post the question. Or any other question for that matter. I'll look over them either today or tomorrow and get back to you over this thread.

I'm very interested, here's my character, Gayle. Will need to double check that it's within your ruleset, but if not currently, should be just some minor adjustments to Hero Lab.

EDIT: and apparently I need to get my backstory included ... must still be on Hero Lab on my home computer:

Summarize: Gayle has been a long-time bureacratic servant of the church who found and adopted him as a child (thus his middle age). Not highly educated, but very comfortable in the office or the forge, he longed to serve something more, to pursue they whys of his existence and to fill the gap of his missing family.

Friends of his came and went, heading to far reaches of Golarion to evangelize and pursue their dreams and as he grew older and the new acolytes continued to stay young, he realized that his only chance of uncovering any of his history or finding meaning in life was to take a risk, so he packed up one day on a whim and headed solo up to the Worldwound ... risk-taking central.

With the heart of a young paladin but the body of an older one, the grimacing dedicated servant of Torag heads north, warhammer in hand.

Is the rogue skill handling traps required for the skill monkey?

If Yes, will you allow two campaign traits, one from Wrath and the "Trap Finder" from Mummy's Mask?

-- david

Papa-DRB, I would prefer if you didn't take campaign traits from different campaigns, Thanks

Mitleid, I didn't notice anything amiss

Thx for checking!

Well, it doesn't look like anyone else is going to be signing on, so I'll let you know who gets in tonight or tomorrow.

I'd like to thank everyone for applying. I've decided that adding an inquisitor to the party would be helpful so I invited Mitleid to join us. Thanks again for applying to everyone!
