I am so excited for this convention..
But the fates are not working in my favor this year, so I will have to stay home. This is the first Memorial weekend that I won't be going to a convention in ten years!! I do hope this is not going to start a trend of being a boring cleric that due to her vow of poverty, stays in her monastery while all the other clerics get to go to retreat. :)
May Sarenrae's blessing be upon all members of the staff who are working on making the weekend a success. I wish you all nothing but tons of fun and good stuff!! If you are going to PaizoCon, I hope to see you all there, but if not, be safe until we meet again!
Cheers mates!

Wendy-Ann and I will be there.
I'll be point man for the Adventure Card Game demo/intro sessions. That doesn't mean I'll be actually running the tables, but I'm sure there will be logistical issues to iron out (I believe this is the first convention where we've had the PACG on the announced schedule).
Assuming we actually get any time to play, we're tentatively signed up for:
- Friday, Slot 1 2-6: Playing #5-13 Weapons in the Rift (Hi, Rob!)
- Friday, Slot 2 7-11: Playing #0-22 Fingerprints of the Fiend
- Saturday, Slot 1 9-1: Playing #2-10 Fury of the Fiend
- Sunday, Slot 1 9-1: Playing #5-19 The Horn of Aroden
- Sunday, Slot 3 7-11: Playing #5-18 The Stranger Within
I'll probably also try and find some time to GM at least one table of either Goblin Attack! or The Confirmation. I left DundraCon with 59 tables of credit, and I haven't run a table since. I need to catch up with Wendy-Ann, who got her 3rd star at DundraCon (and she started GMing quite some time after I did, too!).

Saturday:
Slot 3 9a-1p: Playing #2-10: Fury of the Fiend
Slot 4 2p-6p: Playing #5-17: Fate of the Fiend
Slot 5 7p-11p: Break time
Sunday:
Slot 6 9a-1p: Playing #5-19: The Horn of Aroden
Slot 7 2p-6p: GMing - undecided as to what
Slot 8 7p-11p: Playing PFS 3-02: Sewer Dragons of Absalom

I'm looking to find some time to come play. I've played the game a couple times but I'm running like 7 slots of the CCG demo at GenCon and want to make sure I'm fully prepared.

hi Rob! Thanks for getting this thread going!!!
My Schedule won't be set for awhile yet, but I will there from Thursday through Monday.
We have more rooms than ever this year, but we ALWAYS sell out, so book early, folks!
I have roommates built in, but for those who don't, maybe we could get a "Roommates Wanted" thing going?

Monday 9Am-1pm Siege of the Diamond City
I will also be spending some time at the front desk if you wanted to stop by and say hi. Remeber if you GM 3 tables you get in for free!

Kubla's going to be a lot of fun this year - I'm quite looking forward to it. If you need me, chances are I'll be at the front desk doling out pearls of information. :D
I've booked my room early for once and managed the group rates. Missed that last year and it was a costly mistake so as Andrea says, get your rooms early!
Aethelwulfe |
But will there be Cards Against Humanity in the PFS area?
Oh, I guess there is. It's called Bonekeep II, right? ;)
Seriously, last year I was a back-up judge for Bonekeep I and I was able to watch a dozen different tables try to tackle this extra-tough scenario. It was one of my favorite experiences - watching how each group progressed, where different tables decided to flee, and which hearty ones made it all the way through.
A great experience - if you're up for the challenge.

Hey 4-5 star GMs and VOs!
Make sure we get ourselves signed up to GM the Goblin Attack tables, as we are the only ones that are allowed to run it.
This has been your friendly Sloth-powered service announcement.
:)
I will be at Kubla this year, coming out of PFS retirement to earn my long-overdue 5th GM star. I already have 150 tables, I just need that darn 10th special.
I'm excited to run through the Burnt Offerings portion of the Adventure Card Game. I've really been enjoying it with my group at home, and I think most folks will come to appreciate the game in a different light playing through the campaign and building their character decks.
I'll also have a bevy of board games with me if anyone needs a break from PFS to play something new. Cons are great places to get in lengthy tabletop games like Battlestar Galactica, you know... :)

OK, a little call for volunteers here.
We need GMs foremost (after Players of course), but we also need a few volunteers to help out at the front desk. It's not hard work - we mostly need you to act as an ambassador for PFS and BAPS (Bay Area Pathfinder Society). Answer questions about gaming for the drifters coming through, direct our gamers to the right rooms, etc. You will get some rules questions too, but we don't need rules lawyers - a basic understanding is enough, and we have rules lawyers on staff (from Cheliax of course).
If you think you would like to work a shift at the desk, please contact me directly. The best way to reach me is to email me at efernsler@gmail.com or you can mail me through Paizo's mail system. Right now the shifts are fairly open, but it's first come first served so please sign up early to get the slot you prefer.
If you have any questions about the desk, or anything really, feel free to email me and I'll pass you on to the right person if I can't answer it myself.
Thanks!!

I'm really disapointed that even with 90 tables, we're not allowed to judge either bonekeep unless we have 4 stars. It severely limits how many of those tables can actually run the game. And while I'd never go in as a player, I'm plenty happy to GM it.
I wouldn't say "severely limits'. We have more than enough GM's signed up for the volume of players at the moment and the bay area still has quite a few more VO's, 4, and 5 star GM's.
Hopefully you will be able to help GM 4-star specials next KublaCon.

Given the gigantic line and the scramble to make more tables for the walk-ins last year, it's not the volume of players who pre-reg that I'm worried about.
Frankly, walk-ins shouldn't be playing Bonekeep. It's not fair to the rest of the people at the table for someone who has never played Pathfinder to sit down with a pregen. We will be routing walk-ins to other games. Ideally, level 1-5's.
verdigris |
This year, we've split up the run of Bonekeep 2 to leave more room for walk in tables. NO PREGENS will be sat for Bonekeep tables. It's just not fair to anyone. There will be plenty of other things for walk ins to play.
That said, experienced players should make sure to sign up for games in advance where possible. This is true of all slots, but especially the ones with Bonekeep I or Bonekeep 2 scheduled.
We have more tables scheduled than ever before, and a good portion of those will be for walk ins. So, while I expect the lines may be similarly long, they should go quickly and there should be less "scramble" than last year.

I don't believe he revoked it so much as I misunderstood in the beginning. I believe I said as much in the apology I sent out via the BAPS yahoo group, but let me say it here as well. I apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the need for 4-5 star GM status for Bonekeep 2. It is unfortunate that I raised people's hopes unintentionally, but I know we will still have a blast at the convention.
Thistledown, I'm looking forward to seeing you at Kublacon. We are running Siege of the Diamond City on Monday if you are looking for a special to GM. It can be run by regular GMs and I hope you sign up to do so.
Pirate Rob |
I looked and I couldn't find why I thought that was true though. (Although I couldn't find information the other-way either though). Either way though we have the ruling from on high, and I can see its a big disappointment for you. I'm just some yahoo, but if there's anything I can do to help make your KublaCon more awesome, let me know.
Thistledown I know you mentioned wanting to work as a runner for the Siege special.
I'm currently planning on Overseeing it for my 100th session and I would be delighted to have your help. We'll work out details once we get a little closer.
Will you be at Eudemonia next week for Ben Mayer's First Steps? If so we can talk then.

Hey Pirate Rob! *waves* I'm planning on being there, if you don't mind putting up with me for the roommateyness.
And since you graciously didn't kill my character that time you GMed for me in Fresno, I even promise not to keelhaul you in your sleep.
PM me if you have any questions, or need a reminder as to who I am. ;)

We're just about 1 month out and this weekend, I'm entering GM codes for those that will be getting a badge free. I will also be getting the list into Paizo, for scenario access for our GMs.
We still have plenty of room, so if you've been thinking of signing up, now is the time to do so.
It's going to be an amazing weekend.

Hi Alejandro. I just double checked, and you're right; the hotel has sold out. All is not lost, however. The Holiday Inn Express that is .1 mile down the street still has rooms available, beginning at $122.33/night.

Yarr!
We are currently a bit short on GMs for 5-19 Horn of Aroden (levels 1-5)
If you're not GMing it because you want to play it first. Fear not, we're running a slot 0 for it so that as many of our GMs as possible will get a chance to play it first.
Just sign up to GM the Horn of Aroden at KublaCon and send me a note (and/or post here) and I'll get you set up.
Also for 4*/5*/VC/VL who are thinking of GMing Bonekeep 2 at KublaCon but are on the fence, please send me a PM or email and I'll let you know about the awesomeness BAPS has for you!
Euan |
I'm surprised the hotel is completely sold out. Maybe Kubla will have to change venues in future years - too big for a major hotel! :)
The nearby hotels are all good though from what I hear. Lots of folks have stayed nearby to avoid the higher rates for the non-Kubla-discounted rooms and I've not heard any complaints.
Can anyone else offer to share rooms? Mine is full...

I'm pretty excited! The Horn of Aroden slot zero on Saturday morning(May 10th) is a go, and it looks to be a great table! If you're planning on GMing this awesome scenario at any time, sign up to run it at Kublacon, then sign up to play it the slot 0 game on May 10th. We have a couple of spaces left on the morning table (10:00am) but if there is enough need, I'll happily run it again in the afternoon.

Sign up now - Warhorn (link) is closing in 24 hours!!
Also remember to judge - just three times and you get a free convention badge - but check with Andrea for details on that at this late date. Might need to jump through a few hoops to make it happen. :D
