Racial Heritage and Native Outsiders

I apologize if this has been asked before but my google-fu failed me this morning.

With the FAQ that Aasimars and Tieflings are half-human for PFS does that mean they would be available for the racial heritage feat.
Example: Could a half-orc (who is half-human) take Racial Heritage Tiefling to qualify for Armor of the Pit and the the Fiend Sight feats?

Racial Heritage says choose a Humanoid race. Aasimars and Tieflings are Outsiders, regardless of that ruling (which was actually made to stop small sized Aasimars and Tieflings and nothing else).

Aasimars and Tieflings, like all races in PFS with mixed racial backgrounds, must have "human" as the other "half" of the background unless the race specifically specifies otherwise.

This is NOT the same as counting as human for feats, classes or other game options. The race must have a specific notation "counts as X for y purposes" to be able to do that.

remember that this also disqualifies Aasimar and tiefling as the targets of spells such as Enlarge Person, Hold Person, etc.

That FAQ really needs to be reworded. People read it today and don't understand the context for why it was issued.

The "half-human" thing bugs me a little bit from a fluff perspective. It's not like one of every planetouched's parents was an outsider.

Yeah, "human descended" would probably work better. Honestly, the FAQ shouldn't be "Are races such as tieflings and aasimars considered as half-human in Pathfinder Society Organized Play?" but rather something like "Can I play a halfling descended aasimar or tiefling and thus be small?", based on what originally prompted the clarification.

I know that their normal type is Native Outsider but I wasn't sure if with the PFS ruling that they are half-human if that meant that they also gained the Humanoid subtype (like Aasimars can with the Scion of Humanity alternate racial trait). Along those lines would spells like Charm Person and Hold Person or Favored Enemy: Humanoid-Human work on them? Cause if they do would it be reasonable to assume Racial Heritage would apply as well since those abilities rely on the Humanoid type?

No, they cannot be targeted by such abilities and spells.

No. Aasimars and tieflings are Native Outsider. The FAQ does not change their type. It is simply to reign in the desires for the outlandish descended type of characters.

Back before the FAQ there were characters claiming to be an orc-aasimar, kobold-tiefling, goblin based, etc. Some also were going with the small normal races for the change of size. The FAQ was simply to normalize the base race to medium sized, humanish appearance (beyond the outsider taint). That was all.

Tieflings are Outsiders, not Humanoids. They are not affected by "Person" spells or a Ranger's Favored Enemy (Human) bonus.
