We've put a revised example of play into the FAQ. Would love to see if anyone thinks that's off-base in any way.

Only thing I noticed on the first pass through is this: If Ezren just acquired levitate, but has to discard a card at the end of his turn, why did he not just use levitate to move after closing the location? (May as well use the card rather than discard it, especially if he has an ally that would allow him to explore again)

Bulldozer's suggestion is solid. Not only would Ezren get the benefit from the actual card itself, but he'd also get the chance to recharge the card and send it into his active "health bar" (viz., the draw deck) rather than the "depleted health" of the discard pile. If this is supposed to be exemplary, then it might as well show what proficient players would actually do...

There's another benefit; so many to achieve.
People sometimes seem baffled by stories of players that rarely lose a scenario. A lot of the proficiency comes from simply spotting and taking advantage of small, incremental benefits like these that build up over time to result in saved turns (e.g., more health in the draw pile for Ezren means Kyra might not have to forego an exploration to heal him), more successful rolls, and overall more scenario wins.

Sure. So maybe:
He gained 2 cards and played only 1, so if he resets his hand now, he'll need to discard down to his hand size of 6. Instead, he plays his new Levitate spell to move to the Desecrated Vault, and doesn't have to discard. Since he played a spell, his power lets him look at the top card of his deck, which is a Sleep spell. He decides to leave that on his deck, and the turn passes to Monica. Black Fang’s days are numbered!

Doesn't Levitate happen at the end of your turn so you cannot explore again after using it?

Instead, he plays his new Levitate spell to move to the Desecrated Vault, but rolls a 5 on his recharge roll, and discards the card. Since he played a spell, his power lets him look at the top card of his deck, which is a Codex. That's not a spell, so he puts that back on his deck, and the turn passes to Monica.
