Play in a setting where firearms are common and not ludicrously expensive?
There are quite a few archetypes for other classes that start with a firearm.
My brain keeps trying to tell me that I've seen a Feat or maybe it was a Trait that lets you start with a small mountain of gold. That might be enough to afford a firearm. Assuming I'm not crazy.

The Rich Parents trait? That is 900 gp right there. Enough to buy one of the lesser single handed guns, or maybe a nice pistol/dragon pistol if you dip (rather heavily) into your class' starting funds.
Although this is kind of a waste of a trait, and quite honestly: you are better off just picking gunslinger. Quick clear is rather much vital to gun use.
Is it banned in your game? Because usually games that ban them really mean "ban all guns". If the GM bans gunslinger without banning guns, then he doesn't want to say he bans guns, but places heavy penalties on them to discourage you.

Is there anyway for a first level character start with a firearm besides being a Gunslinger.
In PFS no, otherwise it's up to your home GM. If the setting is one where there are Guns! Guns! Everywhere!, everyone might be carrying one. In most cases however, they might still be beyond your starting budget.

Firearm proficiency is exotic among all the rules options for firearms in a campaign short of "commonplace guns" and "guns everywhere" rules options, in which they are martial and simple weapons respectively.
The default rules option - the one upon which the gunslinger class and firearms prices are built - is that they are exotic.

For sure, should have been more clear. Since humans start with two feats, any human with a level in a martial class (Barb, Fighter, Ranger, Pali ect..) will have the BAB req to pick up exotic wep prof and another feat to get gunsmithing. A fighter of an race gets a bonus combat feat at first so that can easily go to wep prof firearms, whereas the character feat at first can go to Gunsmithing.
With the Rich parents trait and 8 hours on the first day of the campaign said character could craft himself a pistol and still have enough left over for a suit of armor, a good melee weapon, all the knick-knacks needed to start and some bullets. That's how I would do it.
