I have the beginner box and it comes with a nice big mat to draw on. Personally I think the flexibility of drawing your own maps outshines any premades.

I agree with Deadalready.
No one expects you to be an artist and its a lot easier to handle 'fog of war' with your own maps - just don't draw the bits they haven't come to yet.
Having said that, the premade maps are fantastic quality. I suppose for me the ultimate question is one of cost. Could I justify buying the maps when I'm only ever likely to use them once? In my case, no.
