Organizing PDFs on a kindle fire

Technology

I just got a kindle fire for my birthday, and I'm putting my paizo library on it to cut down on my weight load at the gaming sessions.

The problem is that it will only accept PDFs in the Docs section, and there's no way I can find to organize these things into folders (for say, season 1 scenarios, season 2 scenarios, hardcovers , players guides etc)

Anyone know a hack or app around this?

I'm not sure if you can on Kindle, but if you are able to download an App EZPDF Reader, it is amazing and generally blows most stock PDF programs out of the water.

I did a process very similar to THIS on my Nook Color and once I got it to work it worked very well, and I still use it like 2 or 3 years later. Just make sure that you have the right specific version, read through the entire step-by-step, and make sure you have everything you need (should jut be a free program or two, SD card, and maybe another device with a SD card slot).

The one issue I have with Paizo's books though EZ PDF is that being secured and watermarked, for whatever reason will not provide a thumbnail in folders. I found a way to trick it,

if your interested:
copying a picture of the books, using that picture to create a 1 page PDF file, transfer that to the program, open it, get the thumbnail, and then reconnecting device to a computer, copy the actual book over (same exact name and location so it asks if I want to replace it, <yes>), and you finally get a thumbnail.

I can't get the recently read tab on ezPDF to work for me, did you also have that problem before your thumbnail workaround, and did that fix it? It is a bummer having to dig down to my dropbox folder every time I want to swap back and forth between two files (all in all it is still worth the price of the app though).

I honestly don't know, I never used it, and my Nook is automatically designed to reopen the last Nook market place book.

A few things you can try (I am not familiar with the Kindle, so this might not apply) is to make sure that you first transfer the actual APP to your Memory Card.

You can try to use both the general Device settings as well as new programs installed on the Device (I think it is Super User, Soft Key, or another new Icon App that should be specific to your device, (mine says NookColor <Tools>), and see if any of those have an option to simply switch what that button does normally.

A lot of devices actually have 3 separate storage possibilities. An internal memory (device), an external card slot (SD card), and a 3rd hidden sort of digital internal device. That's why with some cell phones, you will have plenty of memory on the device itself (and the card) and will get stupid "Can not Download App, low on Memory" warnings, because the device is actually trying to use that 3rd digital option even if you don't want to, and there isn't a lot you can do but delete other apps.

So, first try to make sure that you transfer the app to your memory card, through the device's settings. Secondly make sure that you then copy all the books to a folder (or folders) on the Memory card.

Spoiler:
You can split it up between the device and the memory card, if you want, but it makes locating this difficult until you know what you are doing, and a lot of times when you connect to the internet and auto update, it is going to trick the device into thinking that the App is not correctly installed, install the update to the device automatically and not allow you to access your other library.
Make sure you do a full backup of the App and your library as is. Just copy paste the entire folder to your computer, so if it doesn't work as desired on Kindle, you can just reset it to the way it was.

Next, making sure everything, including the App folder is on your card, and not on your device, (or is on both) delete the folder completely from your device, (but not card). Unplug device, and you will probably want to restart it. Reopening App, you should see it trying to reinitialize and then you should have your whole library good to go. Try that and see if it works.
