Cutting Teeth

Recruitment

I've plunged head first into Pathfinder, and have been itching to get into some kind of campaign so I can learn the more active parts of the game. Like Combat, Spellcasting and the like. I'm still reading and learning the basics, but I'm willing to learn and listen.

Welcome to the boards Tyeal! There are several new games that start up regularly. Before you get started, consider the following:

a. What kind of game are you looking for? Play by post, play by email, teamspeak etc.
b. What kind of realistic commitment can you make to a game? If a game expects you to post ever day, or players that play every wednesday night from 6 to 9 pm and you can't meet those commitments, it won't be fun for anyone.
c. Follow some of the active campaigns by reading up on their gameplay. Don't be afraid to ask questions (either via PMs or in an OOC thread). Most individuals are friendly and are more than willing to help welcome a new player to the community!

Good luck.

A. I suppose teamspeak would probably be my preferred method. Allows for just more interaction and general dialog. And taking jabs at one another ^^. But I'm also fine with Play by Post.
B. I've got my expectations set to play for about 2-3 hours, once a week. My work schedule is in constant flux, but I'd let the GM know ahead of time if I can't make it to a game that evening.

Hi Tyeal, I'm just a week into my first PBP game and I'm really enjoying it. We're a small party (three, with room for one or possibly two more).

Take a look, see if it's your thing, or ask any questions in the Discussion or Recruitment threads http://paizo.com/campaigns/EpicSixthLevelBronzeAgeCampaign/gameplay#34

Cheers,

Thanks Oneidros. And while I would like to try to get an invite in, I'm afraid I only have lv. 1 characters. And everyone else has a few levels on me.

As another player in the game Oneidros referenced, and something of an experienced PbPer, I can say that you don't have to start at level 1. In fact, martial characters (fighters, rangers, even rogues) generally use the same sort of tactics throughout low levels (and since it's a campaign where you never level beyond sixth, you don't need to worry about higher levels). And we're experimenting with a lot of stuff, so don't worry about not having a lot of experience.

I've also begun considering running a basic "tutorial" of combat rules. If I end up doing that here, I'll definitely let you know!

If you'd enjoy playing a 6th level character, don't let that stop you; just level one up (or make up a new one).

Cheers,
