I'm about to run HoH, and had a question I didn't see referenced in any other threads. When the Blood-Writ names that manifest before the Splatter Man are reduced to 0 HP, the walls make a Fort save or collapse on the PCs. The DC for the save is the amount of damage inflicted on the Blood-Writ Names. With 27 hit points, that sets the DC at the least at 27. The walls receive no bonus for the save, so I'm not really seeing how they can successfully hit the save. Am I missing something? Any help is much appreciated.

I see it that way:
The PC's save against DC 16 Will each round. A Fail means that a letter of his/her name appears and Wis -2.
A letter can be erased with 1 point of damage attach. However the damage dealt against the letter (the full damage) is subtracted from the Haunt's HP's. And the payer gets the Wis back.
The HAUNT (not the walls) have 27hp.
If you Defeat the Splatter man before you defeat the haunt, the damage the Haunt has taken is the DC.
If you defeat the Haunt before the splatter men the Wall collapse (cause the DC is to high to save.) As Splatter can move thought walls, he just goes after the PC's

Wait. Hu?
The Splatter Man appears AFTER the blood written walls. One encounter does not affect the other directly.
The haunt has 27 hp. If those a dropped to zero, it disappears.
Then he makes a Fortitude-Save and the DC is the physical damage it took - this means that if the group uses positive energy or alike to damage it, it should be fine. (If the group uses holy water to wash them away you could rule that it affects the haunt, for example).
So yeah - if the group just starts to bash the walls like there is no tomorrow they will get a ceiling get dropped upon them.
If not, they should be fine - don't forget they might also still have their siphons.
(My group didn't even consider hitting it - they just hit it with positive energy over and over).

Awesome! Thanks for the responses! This campaign already seems super deadly, and when I came to the DC for the Fort save I interpreted it as another possible party killer. The non-physical damage approach didn't even occur to me. So a create water spell, channel positive energy. Do you think simply using water from their water skins to erase the letters would work? I do like the idea of a group of elves doing housework in a haunted prison.
