To sum my views on PF 2nd Ed playtest...for those who care...
Character Gen needs alot of work. The ancestries are bland and not balanced at all.
Class are pretty much inflexible and does not allow for choices and effectively locks you into 'choices'. Pretty much they just give you a illusion of choices.
Skills, ability score gen., and backgrounds are somewhat interesting.
Though skill Feats are not bad...there is a danger to them. As a example there is a feat called Survey Wilderness...it pretty much allows you to get a ideal of what lives in the local area. This is something that I would allow players to do anyway. I don't like having to say to a player that is being creative and thinking outside of the box ' No, you need a feat to do that.'
I doubt they will fix any of this as they not even asking questions about this stuff.

So, are you liking this new edition?
Or (like myself) planning on sticking to PF1?

Not really....
Unless they make major changes to character Gen and some other minor tweaks I am sticking with PF1...
I just hope they have a plan B

Not your fault...there was only one female Smurf so odds were against us.

I am also, from the other side having a problem with the combat balance. It appears that they are using the same imbalance from Starfinder (my least favorite aspect of that game also.)
I find this especially problematic with PF2, as this will complicate any efforts to convert older material (due to the way CRs will change).
Right now, I fear that they may not have a viable "plan b" and that they are not asking the right questions needed to fix their "plan a."
Do you smurf what I am saying?

They got your picture right this time.
(And then blew it the next post.)

Yeah...it is because the Smurfs are sexist...

What is the penalty for rejecting Pathfinder 2nd Edition?
-2 on finding new players...
All new material must be crafted yourself...which means the cost is reduced to half...but it takes more time.
But you get some benefits...like
Your wealth increases by 50%....
And your fun chance increases to +25%

This may actually be optimistic.
And, b.t.w., one is pretty much shut out of Society play.

A LOT more time.

Meaning that the Chainmail Bikini will return!!
What are you looking at doing?

Selene Spires |

Meh...I think they will be alot of people who stick with 1st ed...or at least go back to it.
I don't like organize play to start with so I don't feel like I am loosing there...
There is all ready alot out there for 1st edition...I don't think I will have to make alot more content...
Chainmail Bikinis never went away...
Well I am going to hold final judgement till I see the final product...though yes I am not very optimistic.

If, as you pointed out, Starfinder is a "a cumbersome and clunky system, can you suggest an alternative?"
Is there a good space opera system out there?

Any good ideas on how to help my mom's clavicle heal quickly?
Also which do you think is a better AP for people that are tired of APs, Mummy's Mask or Jade Regent?
See a Doctor...but googling it is would say make sure she rest it.
I would say run something sandbox you or at least something that is character driven.

Selene Spires |

Yeah...I mostly agree in theory that Hero works best with Superheroes games...but I have not played Hero outside superhero games so I don't know.
I think a GMS with the prep time to house rules stuff can make it work...but there is alot of work on the GM part...you pretty much would have design everything a head of time.
So I included it as a option.
