Really? I've had problems with Hero outside of the Superheroic scale.

If, as you pointed out, Starfinder is a "a cumbersome and clunky system, can you suggest an alternative?"

Is there a good space opera system out there?

To sum my views on PF 2nd Ed playtest...for those who care...

Character Gen needs alot of work. The ancestries are bland and not balanced at all.

Class are pretty much inflexible and does not allow for choices and effectively locks you into 'choices'. Pretty much they just give you a illusion of choices.

Skills, ability score gen., and backgrounds are somewhat interesting.

Though skill Feats are not bad...there is a danger to them. As a example there is a feat called Survey Wilderness...it pretty much allows you to get a ideal of what lives in the local area. This is something that I would allow players to do anyway. I don't like having to say to a player that is being creative and thinking outside of the box ' No, you need a feat to do that.'

I doubt they will fix any of this as they not even asking questions about this stuff.

So, are you liking this new edition?

Or (like myself) planning on sticking to PF1?

Not really....

Unless they make major changes to character Gen and some other minor tweaks I am sticking with PF1...

I just hope they have a plan B

I am also, from the other side having a problem with the combat balance. It appears that they are using the same imbalance from Starfinder (my least favorite aspect of that game also.)

I find this especially problematic with PF2, as this will complicate any efforts to convert older material (due to the way CRs will change).

Right now, I fear that they may not have a viable "plan b" and that they are not asking the right questions needed to fix their "plan a."

Do you smurf what I am saying?

Bah everybody says 'Resistance is futile' hoping to do stuff that is not resisted....well damn lets see how futile it is.

Raise shields....arm and load the torpedoes...laser at full...missiles locked. Prepare to engage.

True. The Catholic Church was even an early attempt to achieve perfection.

But the Collective has moved beyond such primative examples. We have achieved the perfection that the ancients had sought for.

Wait, she turned over a dozen male Šmurf into female Šmurf?! Holy Parrot Fish, Batman!

Your analysis is correct.

If fact, the situation is vastly improved from our original existnace as Šmurfs.

The Collective is in awe of Lynora-Jill's divine power.

"Point. Well, hopefully the new footage is equal to what you lost. From the little bit you've described, it sounds like it was. And congratulations on the new clones - they're welcome to come down and join the party anytime!" :)

It was.

Indeed, several of us, this drone included, need to spend the next several cycles regenerating.

And, she has located and corrupted all of our Holographic Backups of Lynora-Jill's and Jilly Bean's debuchery.

Aw. How sweet. I knew I liked her. :)

That is not surprising.

Your own power is what transformed Šmurf-Drone 8 of Paizomatrix0 into what is now Šmurfette-Drone 7-of-9 of Paizomatrix0.

This, however, as proven to be most fortunate for the entire Collective.

Species 9467 is the Paizomatrix designation for Lynora.

If your assimilation was permitted, you would understand more completely. Unfortunately, you are a member of Species 327, so that would not be acceptable to the collective.

Affirmative

The collective assimilated technology from species 327
species 327 drones proved to be defective

This is correct.

However, Šmurfette Drone 7-of-9 is already part of the collective.
She resulted from an attempt of Šmurf-Drone 8 of Paizomatrix0 to assimilate the "indestructable bikini" of Lynora-Jill.

Except we also saw it, and we have it on hologrphic records.
