This is not a question...is it is off topic. Please keep posting questions to me. ;)

Also this presuming the end of Mayan Calander equals the end of the world...which Penn & Teller exposed that myth on their show Bullshi!.

It ate my edit with a Question...

I don't remember the question...

Either way: What do you think of A Song of Ice & Fire?

Link? or better yet just ask all of them here...

"What the biggest fire you ever make?"

"How many other humans you eat to get so big?"

"Do you have good taste? Can I check?"

"How many ways do you know to set someone on fire?"

Followed up by either a dramatic and disappointed sigh, or an eager, "Can you teach me?"

"Dogs. Hate, or really hate?"

"Which art form do you find more refined? Poo slinging, blood smearing, or fire?"

"When ripping the heart from your enemy's still living body, do you a) consume immediately, or b) teabag the sap for the two seconds give or take before he loses consciousness then consume?"

"Which of the following items would you find more valuable: broken chair leg, empty bottle of hooch, full chamberpot, or six eyeballs?"

"Give five reasons you no kill goblins. Now give five more."

"Which party member you laugh hardest when die?"

"How come you still have so many words if you can write?"

"What you look for in good junkyard?"

"You good with me kill your horse?"

Zarongel, he best god, no?"

"What better: Pickle squirrel, dog tail, or salted eyes?"

"Oh gods. What HAPPENED to you?"

"How you stop me if I tried to stab your throat in the night?"

"Something bothering you friend?"

Azaelas Fayth wrote:
Either way: What do you think of A Song of Ice & Fire?

I like it...that is the simple answear...

Complex answear. I read the first book many years ago...I loved it but decided to read the seris when it was completely out...than I don't have to wait years between the books.

Now that the TV show is out...I have comtemplates catching up...but will probably still wait till it is out and read all the books at once.

I think he has a problem of going too long in description of things...but that is a rather minor critism.

My biggest fear...or worry is it will have a very similair effect that Watchmen had on comics.

@Turin the Mad:I answear those questions later....it is a long list.

Also my thread has reached page 2...:)

What are your feelings on the Gunslinger class?

  • Does Gunpowder break the "Fantasy" feel of the Pathfinder RPG?
  • Do you feel that the implementation of firearms in Pathfinder is balanced?
  • Do you feel that the Gunslinger class is balanced?

  • Here are some answears to Goblin questions...I'll revisit the rest later

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What the biggest fire you ever make?"

Funny story here. At a place I worked we would start fires due to boredom. We used a accerlant for the fire. One of my co-workers over used and had me lit it. Needless to say half of me was engulfed in fire singing my hair beard and arm hair. After that I knew what it was like being in a fireball.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How many other humans you eat to get so big?"

None...the secret in getting big is junk food.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Do you have good taste? Can I check?"

    I taste horrible...and no you can't check

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How many ways do you know to set someone on fire?"

    15

    Turin the Mad wrote:
Followed up by either a dramatic and disappointed sigh, or an eager, "Can you teach me?"

    No.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
    "Dogs. Hate, or really hate?"

    I like dogs.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Which art form do you find more refined? Poo slinging, blood smearing, or fire?"

    Fire.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"When ripping the heart from your enemy's still living body, do you a) consume immediately, or b) teabag the sap for the two seconds give or take before he loses consciousness then consume?"

    A) Consume immediatly...a heart should be eaten as fresh as possible. Also I don't go into teabagging people much...

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Which of the following items would you find more valuable: broken chair leg, empty bottle of hooch, full chamberpot, or six eyeballs?"

    Empty Bottle of Hooch

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Give five reasons you no kill goblins. Now give five more."

    1) Everything has a right to life...though conversly everything as a the right to kill to defend their life. So if Goblins leave me and mine alone...I leave goblins alone.

    2) My Dog gets upset If I don't let it kill the goblins.

    3) Being a high level adventurer you guys are not worth the exp.

    4) Have to let the commoners and the experts kill something so they cab gain levels and make me better stuff.

    5) Have to let enough of you guys breed so future generation of Adventurers have things to kill to gain exp.

    6-10) same as above.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Which party member you laugh hardest when die?"

    mmm....the Kobold.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How come you still have so many words if you can write?"

Other races have learned to steal the words of the things we kill...so we are constantly replenishing our words...since goblins never loose any words goblins make the best things to hunt when we need to refill our words.

    Lord Fyre wrote:
What are your feelings on the Gunslinger class?

I like it...my only problem with it is it is too Western feeling to it.

    Lord Fyre wrote:
  • Does Gunpowder break the "Fantasy" feel of the Pathfinder RPG?
  • No...Yes it depends on the world I would have to say. In Golarion it fits because they put it in...in FR it works because they included it...in Eberron it would be great...though I don't think it was ever explicately stated they existed. In Krynn(Dragonlance) I don't think it would fit. In the campaign world I am currently working on...it does not fit.

    Lord Fyre wrote:
  • Do you feel that the implementation of firearms in Pathfinder is balanced?
  • Yes.

    Lord Fyre wrote:
  • Do you feel that the Gunslinger class is balanced?
  • Yes.

Though with the caveat of the GM having to be able to adapt to it. If he can't(which does not mean he is a bad GM) Than it will break the game.

Conversly this is why people have problems running high level game...it because they are still running the game as if it was low level. You just have to adapt to touch AC mechanic of the class(IE giving more HPs to creatures or and using high touch AC adversaries)

And now more Goblin questions answeared....

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What you look for in good junkyard?"

    Car parts

    Turin the Mad wrote:
    Turin the Mad wrote:

    Turin the Mad wrote:
    Zarongel, he best god, no?"

    No...Calastria is.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What better: Pickle squirrel, dog tail, or salted eyes?"

None of the above...I like pickles though.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How much bull slugs you eat in minute?"

I don't eat Bull slugs...I am allegeric to slugs.

    Turin the Mad wrote:

Touch the place where the guards are first.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Where you see yourself in five years?"

tied between Roasted and Fried...not a big fan of boiling.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What you is better with long pig, garlic and onion, or fine herbs?"

long pig? Never had long pig though I would say garlic, onions and fine herbs can go well with anything.

More Goblin questions answeared....you know normal questions are ok too.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How long you stay caged as child?"

We humans don't use cages...we use cribs and play pens. I think till about 1ish

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Best place to hide: Oven, or dark corners next to crib?"

    Dark Cornors next to cribs.

    Turin the Mad wrote:

    Um...no.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What is making best pickles? Eyes, toes, tongues, or ears?"

    None of the above

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What you pay me to let you in the group?"

You got that backwards you would need to pay me

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"Oh gods. What HAPPENED to you?"

    Nothing. You are seeing things.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"How you stop me if I tried to stab your throat in the night?"

Shoot you from a safe distance.

    Turin the Mad wrote:
    "Something bothering you friend?"

I don't know why don't you ask him.

And some Goblin Questions before work...

ash in a cup....trash the pooch....that is it right now.

    Turin the Mad wrote:

    No

    Turin the Mad wrote:
"What is your opinion on firearms?"

They make killing things a whole lot easier.

It was fine. I don't entirely undstand the question...it seems pretty straight forward. You escaped from Kakishon and end up at the treasury of Bayt al-Bazan. It is a bit railroady...bu6t when you are playing a AP you kinda have to expect some nice train rides.

To me I think it is more of a disparities of players and/or play styles than a disparity between the classes. I have played pretty much all the classes...and have defintly seen them all played. It really depends on the player and what they do with what they have. I have seen the 'most powerful' classes played by people who just did not get it...and seen the 'weakest classes' played by people who did use what they have to the fullest and stole the show if you will.

Now before you misunderstand just because you don't play a given class well does not mean you are stupid. I usualy find it more that some people are just more naturaly suited to a class and have more of a learning curve with the other classes.

I think that the game balance is 60% party dynamics and 40% published material balance. The mechanical imbalance IS real, but the party dynamics have more impact on direct play that the published material. For my party, we see the power of Summoner, Gunslinger and some ranged builds, and the underpowerness of rogue, but really... we don't find the ultrapower of wizard nowhere. Monk is safe because we use a high power stats array that saves the class for his MAD problem, for example.
Imbalance is real, but is shadowed by party dynamics.

    Some Anime recomendations...
    - PsychoPass: Detectives like 100 years on the future. Great history, great characters, but sometimes really harsh psychologically. 22 chapters.
    - Seto No Hanayome: My favorite anime comedy. Basically student romantic comedy, but with Yakuza mermaids. Logic? No way. Funny? Hell Yeah. Some of the yokes parody anime classics, others american classics. 26 chapters + 2 specials.
    - Maoyuu Maou Yuusha: At first glance, classic fantasy story of humans vs demons... but early on the story the thing chance to a tale of politics and economics. A bit slow, but really well written. Two little problems; a bit too much fan-service for the kind of story told and the end is really open. 12 chapters.
    - Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha / Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: Ok, yes, a Magical Girl show, but I really love that one. More serious that many others Magical Girls Shows, and with important space component. Long runner: 3 series (13/ 13/ 26 chapters, the second is the best one) and 2 films that re-tale the two firsts series. Another really great Magical Girls one is Puella Magi Madoka Magica, with one of the bests Soundtracks ever, but is not for everyone, incredible harsh story. 12 chapters.
    - Code Geass: Mecha / political genre. Japan was conquered years ago by the Britannia Empire and the resistance find a new mysterious leader. There is no true heroes on the story: every side has good and bad people. I like that anime, but frankly, the story is a little hard to believe on some points. Two series of 25 chapters each.

I really like Fate Zero, but is a prequel of Fate Stay Night, and part of the inmense Nasu-verse, so difficult to view on their own.

Of course, that are some of my personal favourites, but there are more, like SankaRea, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist or more.

PD: My bad english failed me a couple of times there, sorry.

While my experience playing Rogues have shown me they are not...that is my point people will have different experiences.

Also you hit the nail on the head on what I see has a problem with alot of people on the forums who claim y class is overpowered or x class is underpowered. It is far more important what the group does than any invidual character does. There is no class that can truely solo any adventure.

Thank you I'll have to give them a try and to find them for a reasonable price.

Not a problem...English is my native tongue and I mess it up sometimes also. ;)

    RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

Since you work for UPS, are you into "shipping"?

One good way to watch anime legally is with CrunchyRoll. The Spanish version have some bad name for bland subs, but I suppose the English one should be better. The catalogue is a bit limited, though.

    Going for questions...
    - Political threads; good way to see others points of view or flame wars waiting to explode?
    - What side on the "console wars"? Or PC?
    - Favourite sport?
    - Others tabletop games apart RPGs?
    - How many times do you actually play on a week? How long are the sessions?

I am not into fanfic...I don't hate it...I just never really got into it. So my position on 'shipping' is meh.

They shoiuld be a good was to see others points of veiw...and can be at times that...unfortunaly they also have a tendency to explode into flame wars. I'll admitt I tend to just lurk them as posting on such threads can tae me to a dark place.

    Alaryth wrote:

Not much into these wars...as any console would do...except the wii. Though most of my video gaming is on the PC.

    American Football

Some CCG(Magic, L5R, and Game of Thrones) though I don't play as much as I used too. Play Board games and such. I can't really think of any favorites though.

Usually the sessions last for 4 to 5 hours.

As to how many times a week...that varies. I play with three groups pretty much. Thursday I play regulary...there is a game I run everyother Saturday, and the last group meets anytime the GM's schedule works out(he is in retail Hell) so that varies.

So on Average 3 times a week...though sometimes it is once a week...some weeks like this week it is 5 times a week.

What no one has in questions for me considering it is a holiday weekend(well atleast in America).

We are enjoying the holiday weekend. ;) Well, those not working in retail hell that is.

What holiday is? (Here is a normal weekend). I work 2/3 of every holiday, Turin... I feel your pain.

For your information... the Exalted 3Ed Kickstarter have like 2 weeks more.

A question, I'm not very inspired today: for PF/D&D, pure medieval fantasy, or more thematic mix like Golarion?

Memorial Day weekend here in the States, Alaryth.

Ok, there goes the stupid question... on memory of what? ^^

HEY!!! This is the Ask John Kretzer all your question thread...not your thread...go get your own...*grumbles grumbles*... ;)

Any in answear to this...since following that link crashed my poor decrepit computer...it is the day that we Americans remember those who have given their lives in service of this country.

I'll give a look see...though unfortunaly I don't have the funds free for any kickstarter project till atleast next year. I hope they get it though.

I have always seen it has a thematic mix kinda of like Golarion. Social structures are defintly much more advance than our own medieval period. The tech. level is usualy a little bit higher added into magic being more prevalent. And the use of clerical magic. I would say it boaders on the Renaissance period.

Though if you add the fantasy elements into our own Medieval period...and may look alot like what D&D/PF looks like.
