Well, it certainly looked like an amazing title until I saw the system requirements section:
Other Requirements:Broadband Internet connection
I hope this is a mistake; the Wikipedia entry mentions nothing of the sort. If this is an indicator of an always-online DRM method, Capcom just lost another customer. F%$&ing shame, really.

I looked at some reviews this morning and things aren't looking too good for Remember Me. Some reviewers have also mentioned that only four instances of memory editing made it in; this was one of the game's potential highlights for me.
The game releases tomorrow, but between the linear gameplay, Arkham Asylum combat, and the possibility of the requirement of an always-on connection, I just can't stay excited about this.

That is really odd.
For what it's worth, Internet is NOT listed as a requirement as a digital download straight from Capcom:
While they don't always do this, I wonder if the Steam version is listing Internet connection as a "requirement" because of initial authentication requirements (you need to be connected to Internet when you install--which is also annoying, but less annoying than always-on).
I think you are wise to wait till you get more information, but normally if it's always-on, there'd be a stink about it on the web.
The other trick is--wait until it releases in about 4 hours or so. If suddenly a bunch of gamers are complaining about the servers locking on them, then we know what happened.
The reviews have been middling (well, 7/10 is still pretty good) but I may actually get this once the issue is clarified as well. I like a game with stealth elements, and this is supposed to have them amongst some other interesting combos of gameplay. The combat isn't supposed to be innovative, but I don't really care about that. Killin' is killin'.

Everywhere I've looked shows no indication to an always-online requirement. Right now my biggest concern is whether or not it will allow local saves. I've seen a few Steam titles launch with only save-by-Cloud options; this means that if the game fails to sync, the saves are gone.
Also, I've never seen a title using Steam authentication (that wasn't multiplayer only) list broadband connection as a requirement.

Well, if that's the case, I just won't buy it on Steam.

Necromancer: Wait a few days. I have pre-ordered the game and will try to start ist when I have disconnected my PC, so I can tell you if the internet connection is really required. I am afraid I will not be able to do so before the weekend, though.
Yeah, I noticed European buyers got a nice surprise (June 7th EU release date) last night. I was planning to wait for a sale, but if things turn out well--and I can access the German/French/non-English audio track--I'll likely grab it at full price. Thanks.
