Warlords of Choon |

Apparently we just roll again
But it doesn't say whether that reroll uses the same modifiers. I say sure, let's just reroll Init
Init: 14
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Jezebel Quick |

Initiative: 20 again...also that's weird about rolling again. I always thought it was higher mod goes too. Learn something new every day lol.
Jezebel nods and the creature with her darts forward and attempts to chomp into Esmeralda.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Move to C11
Attack on Esmeralda = 19 vs flatfooted AC
Damage = 7
Jezebel concentrates for a moment before a tearing sound appears and three fiendish looking eagles from the nether planes appear.
They appear in spaces J7, H10, and J14
Jezebel smiles and says in a lilting tinkling voice The game is to you my pungent friend!
You're up!

Warlords of Choon |

That thing has a least a 50' base speed? And you can summon 3 beasties? Wow. Let's hope Bruno can take a few out. :)
Suprise round
Bruno growls at the abomination and shouts C'mon, Ugly!. He drops his lance to the dirt, and draws his pick. He mounts with surprisingly fluid grace, then gives a shrill whistle. Esmeralda bellows and bites at her attacker.
Esmeralda: HP 7/18

Yep the joys of evolutions. Hence the six legs lol.
The creature dissipates into nothingness from Esmeralda's bite, dropping it instantly.

Jezebel moves forward a bit and says Razech mak!
The eagles all fly forward and start attacking Esmeralda in a flurry of flashing beaks.

Jezebel meanwhile, smiles at the destruction of her companion. She moves forward and does nothing obvious.
Jezebel moves to H10.
Esmeralda needs to make a DC 10 Constitution check.
You're up...and surrounded by eagles!!
EDIT: I forgot to mention earlier in my description that she also has an ioun stone floating around her head if it matters

Jezebel Quick |

Constitution Check for Esmeralda? It may effect Esmeralda's numbers if she fails.
Round 2
Jezebel sees several of her eagles drop and takes a step back as the smelly duo moves forward. After stepping back she reads from the scroll in her hand and disappears. The last eagle comes back and attempts to attack Esmeralda again.
Cast Invisibility from Scroll Caster level Check vs DC 5 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Jezebel takes a 5' step to I10 before reading from her scroll and disappearing.

Need a second Constitution check for Esmeralda at DC 11

Warlords of Choon |

Bruno starts cursing in Dwarven. He and Esmeralda both reel and attack their only visible foe.

The Arbiter |

I'm not totally sure what the deal with rerolling initiatives was, as the page Choon linked to seemed to clearly say highest mod goes first, in which case Bruno would have been up first.
If two or more combatants have the same initiative check result, the combatants who are tied act in order of total initiative modifier (highest first). If there is still a tie, the tied characters should roll to determine which one of them goes before the other.

Jezebel Quick |

Crap. Well that sucks. I didn't look it up so I just took Choon's word for it. Choon do you want to redo? I'm not sure but I don't think much would have changed. I'm going to continue as if we are going to but if you want to redo let me know.
The eagle drops and poofs back to the hells from whence it came.
Round 3
Immediately after though, a ripple in the ground comes up and charges forward striking at Esmeralda's legs. The creature looks to be composed of the same rocky ground and sand upon which the arena is made.
Augment, Earth mastery, slam Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Earth Elemental charge from G7 to G9
Attack on Esmeralda = 20
Damage = 12
Esmeralda needs to make another Constitution check DC 12 or suffer another 1d6 nonlethal
You're up!

Warlords of Choon |

Wow, I read that four times and still understood that we would re-roll. Nothing would have changed except that the lance would have been stowed on the saddle instead of in the dirt, and even that would change nothing really. We can continue as we have been.

Esmaralda bellows and goes down. Bruno swings from the saddle and hits the ground hard, but tucks and rolls to avoid damage. He is up in a flash and spins on his heeel to swing at the elemental.
Attack: 15
Damage: 15
Soft dismount to F9

Jezebel Quick |

Esmeralda 1d6 ⇒ 4 nonlethal.
Attack misses the Elemental.
Round 4
A blast of thunder accompanies the arrival of another enemy to the fray. Looking like a vaguely humanoid shaped storm cloud with arcs of electricity shooting up the arms and two burning sparks for eyes. It darts forward and attempts to trip you to the ground. The earth elemental then follows up with a vicious strike at you.
Earth Elemental attack augment, EM, Flanking, power attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

You're up!
EDIT: The attack on the earth elemental actually did hit. I forgot about the -2 to ac from him charging last round. He is still up though after your damage so the rest of the round is correct. Sorry about that.

Lightning elemental attack = 19

You're up!

Warlords of Choon |

Holy crap. One round of bad rolls and it's all over.
Also, I moved diagonally, so the other elemental would have to move to keep up, but it doesn't matter as those elementals turn Bruno into squishy dwarf paste in one round doing a total of 43 damage! And they regularly hit a 30! They hit better and about as hard as I do mounted, and you have 3!
Oh well, at least I took out a few eagles and an eidlon, I guess.
Good match. :)

Jezebel Quick |

Jezebel saunters in, swaying seductively and blowing kisses to the crowd. Her weird looking companion shuffles in beside her. She has a scroll in one hand and a crossbow strapped to her back. A small stone is circling around her head. She wears ornately tooled armor made out of some sort of green leather (leaf armor)
Her companion has six legs and a long neck upon which sits a dragonish head with big jaws and sharp teeth.
Initiative = 23

Vatale |

Initiative
Vatale strides into the arena beside Gyllir. His face is quite stoic but he does seem a bit perturbed by the six-legged creature.
Further description of equipment and such on this alias.
Initiative:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Initiative = 23. So whoever has the higher modifier should go first. Mine is +9.
Also my apologies for the delay, my finals ate up the entirety of my weekend.

Vatale |

Well I'm happy to say I just finished my last exam so from here on out there shouldn't be delays.
Surprise Round
Vatale examines the strange six-legged beast, coiling Gyllir's reigns in his hand.

Vatale leaps into the saddle and Gyllir runs along the wall of the arena to the East. Vatale, guiding Gyllir with his knees nocks an an arrow and lets fly at Jezebel's companion.
Attack: 25 Damage: 9 plus 1 bleed damage for 2 rounds.
Gyllir and Vatale end up in HI1819
You're up.

Jezebel Quick |

Good luck on the results! I do not miss those days lol.
Jezebel's companion dissipates into black smoke before vanishing completely as the arrow pierces it's chest and strikes the heart.
Surprise round
Jezebel reads from her scroll and vanishes completely from sight.
5' step to B9
You're up.

Vatale |

Round 1
Vatale curses under his breath as he sees his opponent disappear.
Why do they keep doing this? Very well, only one of us is leaving lets just get this over with.

This leaves Gyllir taking 11 damage which puts her down to 1 HP.
I'm dropping my bow as a free action and unsheathing my Katana as a move action.
I will then attack the eagle in E14.

Well then.
Vatale drops his bow and unsheaths his katana, swinging at one of the eagles and missing horribly. Well then, this is going swimmingly.

You see a small ripple in the earth about 15' north of you which then disappears before a rocky hand reappears in your square and grabs your bow, pulling it under the ground.
This is kind of unorthodox so we may need a ruling on this. I'm not sure if the rules permit a creature to reach across like this to grab an item and pull it into the ground with earth glide. If you don't think it's legal or Arbiter says no then I can change actions. It seems like something that SHOULD be allowable but it's one of those murky things that aren't usually covered.

Vatale |

Round 3
Gyllir goes down from the attacks of the first Eagle.
I'm not sure how to handle mount death in terms of Vatale ending up on the ground. I'm going to make a reflex save and a ride check here. I figure the DC for a swift dismount is 5 and if I have a good save maybe that makes sense but it's up to you.
Reflex Save:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Ride Check:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Looking at the results I'm guessing I'll make it to the ground standing. in which case I figure I'll go for E15 since Gyllir's corpse is taking up FG1415.
I'll just attack the eagle in E14 again.
Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
In terms of damage I've taken I'm down to 16 HP.
Vatale gets clear of Gyllir as she falls landing on his feet in E15. The eagles while missing many attacks do land several, drawing lines of bright red across Vatale's arms and back.
He swings again at the eagle in E15 again but misses once more.
Attack: 11 Damage: 4 It seems I used all my good rolls somewhere else.
While it is unorthodox I don't think it should matter too much, it seems legal to me. I doubt I'll be needing that bow again anyway. At this point I'm just aiming to take down as many summons as I can before dying.
You're up.

Vatale |

Vatale's Death
The earth elementals hit Vatale hard, driving him to his knees and the eagles continue to bite and claw at him. The second elemental's attack produces a sickening crack and Vatale falls to the ground beside Gyllir, joining her in death.
Well that's 41 damage. So I'm done.
Well that's it for me. Good match, you have a wonderful strategy that I wish I had thought of. I've always liked summoning builds but it just didn't occur to me for this arena despite the clear benefits.

Jezebel Quick |

Jezebel watches the carnage before dismissing her summons with a wave of her hand. Moving over to the mangled body she salutes her opponent You fought well my friend. she says in her disembodied voice before walking out of the arena.
Good match to you as well and thanks. My major issue is with anyone that can see invisibility. Then I'm kind of screwed lol.

Jezebel Quick |

Yay! Were back on!
Jezebel enters the arena, the strange creature at her side looking slightly different than her last battle. The claws on it's front pair of legs are longer and sharper and it moves with a twitchy sort of grace as it enters. Jezebel carries a scroll in one hand, and has a crossbow strapped to her back.

Ends movement at square B11
I only took 1 attack with the eidolon because I figured pounce wouldn't work in a surprise round since you are limited to a standard action. If I am incorrect please let me know.
You're up!

Master of the Pits |

No pounce without the ability to make a full attack. A charge is a full round action (except when it's a standard action), and a full attack is a full round action that in the case of pounce is happening in addition to the charge (special circumstances). To the best of my knowledge there's only one attack here.

Thanks, MotP. I'm quite glad I didn't have to eat a full attack. ;)
Surprise Round
Swift Action: Draw Scroll from wrist sheathe
Std Action: Cast Scroll Defensively
Conc Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Free Action: 5-ft move to B-10 stealthily
Stealth: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (15) + 29 = 44
Elinora recoils at the insolence of the creature that would dear attack her. She flicks her wrist and just as quickly as a scroll appears in her hand, she disappears from sight, not affording her foe an opening with which to strike.
She is in B-10 now

Round 1
A melodic voice calls out speaking in a tongue that sounds like gravel and rock smashing together. Achtok mack bech!
A creature made of rock and stone rises up out of the ground and immediately moves over and throws a stony fist at your location. The eidolon meanwhile, seeing the elemental attacking a location begins attacking as well.
Slam attack with charging, power attack, augmented, and earth mastery: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Claw attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
50% miss chance low always hits: 1d100 ⇒ 25
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Elinora |

Ok, first thing that happens is that when the Eido's first attack hits, Elinora's armored kilt responds with an icy blast.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Dmg: 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 3, 5) + 5 = 24
19 ranged touch with no dex to AC due to her being invis. Also can't be spellcrafted due to Invis. The eido is auto-entangled for 1 round and must succeed at a DC 15 Fort save or be staggered. Regardless of the save, the eido takes 24 cold dmg. If it is dead from the dmg or staggered, it doesn't get to make any attacks after the first. Either way, the rest of my turn is the same.
Move action to use Acro to avoid AoO while going to C-8
Acro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Free action while moving to draw scroll of Mirror Image
Stealth while moving behind pillar: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Std action to cast Mirror Image
Images: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Free Action: Drop used scroll
Perception to see Jezebel from new location: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
After the armor attacks, it is Elinora's turn, and she is visible. She uses Acrobatics to avoid AoO, getting a 22. This is vs just elemental if Eido is dead. If not, it counts only as 20 due to additional foe.
She then darts behind the pillar, and if Jezebel sees her, she will see 4 of her.
Elinora in C-8

Jezebel Quick |

Welcome back! Glad to see it was just being busy.
The cold damage destroys the eidolon where she stood and she dissipates into nothingness.
Round 2
Mud Elemental Attack, augmented, power attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Mirror Image low always hits so 1 hits, everything else hits image: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Damage: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 plus DC 14 entrap.
Earth Elemental Attack, augmented, power attack, flanking: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Mirror Image 1 hits, everything else hits image: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Damage: 1d4 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Jezebel moves back down 5'
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29
Another elemental that looks to be made of mud appears in the middle of the arena who then moves and attempts to slam into you with a muddy limb, splattering you with sticky mud.
The earth elemental, meanwhile follows you around the pillar and strikes out at you with its own rocky limb.
Mud elemental appears in square G10 and senses you with tremorsense moving to D8 to attack.
Mud elemental attack = 25
Mirror image 1d4 (low hits per usual, so 1 hits 2-4 hits an image) = 1 which does strike true
Damage = 13 plus DC 14 Fortitude save or be entrapped by mud.
Earth Elemental attack = 15
Mirror image 1d4 (low hits per usual, so 1 hits 2-4 hits an image) = 1
Damage = 15
You're up!

Jezebel Quick |

You too! Yeah elementals are kind of bruisers at these levels.
The elementals continue pounding Elinora into the ground for a moment before Jezebel calls them off. Rektok!
Jezebel looks down at her mangled opponent for a time before dismissing her rocky and muddy compatriots. Well fought cousin. I look forward to what you do next. Jezebel then turns and sways prettily out of the exit.
